Hello – I’m having a slight problem with the logo in the header. It looks normal on a desktop browser, but the mobile version is way too small, hard to read. I have uploaded the Retina version of my logo (twice the size of my standard logo). In the Logo Size, I put in the height of my standard logo. Any suggestions on how to make the logo larger on a mobile device?

Nevermind, found the answer in the discussion archives.

Hey! Glad to hear you found it :)

Hello,

Thank you for providing great support.

I’m trying to achieve few things and I was hoping you’ll be able to help me.

1. I’m trying to find a way to display a “featured image” on the “link” type of post – is there any? I’m using “Masonry Blog Fullwidth”. As a default there is just a link on a aqua / greenish background which I’d like to replace with featured image.

2. I have removed the date and the heart icon from the posts list, but I can’t find a way to remove the line at the bottom of the post preview.

Thanks!

Hey YoZeeto,

1. If you want to add a featured image to that it would require a slight mod to call it in the includes/post-templates/entry-link.php – add this where you want it to display:

<?php if ( has_post_thumbnail() ) {

    echo '<span class="post-featured-img">'.get_the_post_thumbnail($post->ID, 'full', array('title' => '')) .'</span>';

 } ?>

2. Could you share your URL so I can take a look to provide the code?

Cheers

Hey ThemeNectar,

Sure it’s www.zeeto.me – underneath the posts you’ll see the line which was a division between the post and removed date and heart icon

Cheers!

Hey!

Add this into the custom css box in your Salient options panel:

article.post .content-inner {
   border-bottom: none;
   padding-bottom: 0!important;
   margin-bottom: 0px!important;
}

Hi

I am getting, Syntax Error: Unexpected Token:

Hey qhbl, please share your URL so I can take a look :)

I have emailed it to you, please let me know.

The next update will include new options for AJAX transitions – one being the ability to switch the method from actual AJAX to Simulated AJAX, which will look almost identical from your point of view but will end up loading each page the same as it does without AJAX so all plugins will still function normally. For now just disable that option in your general settings tab

Hi, i have a question, now my icons are monocromatic, i want change with color icons is possible? Thank you

Hey aledreams,

yes, you can chance the icons to any of the accent/extra colors are you have defined in your color scheme in the Salient options panel

Cheers

My video player is distorting the videos on mobile. It works and looks like it is supposed to on desktop but tablet and mobile is broken. Any suggestions?

Sounds good

updated

Ok thanks for the update :)

Hi !

For my shop page: http://longtran.co/?post_type=product 1. How can i change 3 items instead of 4 on the row 2. Also I want to add “The Lastest” and sortind above the items , how can i do that.

Thanks

Hey longzone!

1. Add this into the custom css box located in your Salient Options panel:

@media only screen and (min-width: 1000px)  {
html .woocommerce ul.products li.product, html .woocommerce-page ul.products li.product,
html .woocommerce .products.related .product, html .woocommerce .products.upsells .product{
    margin-bottom: 2%;
    margin-right: 2% !important;
    width: 31% !important;
}

html .woocommerce .products.related ul.products li.product.last, .woocommerce-page .products.related ul.products li.product.last, .woocommerce-page ul.products li.product.last, .woocommerce ul.products li.product.last {
    margin-right: 2% !important;
    clear:none!important;
}

html .woocommerce ul.products li:nth-child(3n+3) {
    margin-right:0!important;
    clear:none!important;
}

html .woocommerce ul.products li:nth-child(3n+4) {
    clear:both!important;
}

.woocommerce ul.products li.first, .woocommerce-page ul.products li.first {
    clear: none !important;
}

}

2. You’ll need to use the actual shop page if you want to have the filters

Cheers

how can I do to overwrite this function excerpt_more() in the file functions.php in the child theme? i tried with this code in functions.php child, but doesn’t works and give me an error (Fatal error: Cannot redeclare excerpt_more()):

this is the code in functions.php child: if ( ! function_exists( ‘excerpt_more’ ) ) { function excerpt_more( $more ) { return ‘
Read More > ’; } add_filter(‘excerpt_more’, ‘excerpt_more’); }

could you please help me? Thanks

Hey Jagoda,

That specific function is actually not set up currently to accept a child theme overwrite – I’ve not to make it compatible in the upcoming update :)

Hi,

I’ve got a few queries regarding a nectar slider on the front page. I’m using the boxed layout as want the slider to load quickly and have smaller file sizes. I’ve got the images sized to 1400×788 with a fade transition.

1. Firstly everything is fine initially but if I maximise or turn on my all-in-one side bar in firefox window this seems to completely mess the slides up and they then display with half cropped and black background. I had the same issue when using a full width slider with 1800px wide images so this isn’t just a boxed layout issue. The Salient demo is fine and solid though so it’s obvioulsy something different on my setup, any ideas what could be throwing it?

2. Second, the jpegs I’ve created for the nectar slider are relatively small at 250kb’s. They are crisp when exported but look slightly blurred on the slider itself. They are 1400×788 and should be 1:1 with no need of enlarging or shrinking right? I see that a whole bunch of different sized versions are created in my WP upload folder. I basically want to get the slider looking as sharp as possible and setup my images at the exact size that will be shown. I see the header recommendations are for 1600px wide images but am I right that the boxed layout is showing 1400 and with fade transition this should be okay?

3. Thirdly, I’ve set the header to be transparent and then fade to solid dark when scrolled. The transparent looks great but it’s just a bit too hard to read menu text at times. I’ve seen some coding elsewhere that gives the header a semi transparent tone all the time. Is there some CSS coding that would just give the header say 25% dark opacity when first loaded and then still fade to full dark opacity when scrolled down please?

Great, theme thank you!

Hey dmatarch1,

1. Could you share your URL so I can take a look?

2. Yes, you don’t need 1600px+ for the width when using the boxed option but I’ll check on this for you as well when I see the URL

3. Add this into the custom css box located in your Salient Options panel:

html body #header-outer.transparent[data-transparent-header="true"] {
    background-color: rgba(0,0,0,0.3) !important;
}

Cheers

Thank you for your response.

1. For some reason the Nectar slider is indeed solid with my site now as with the demo. I can minimise the browser window and it doesn’t seem to mess things up as before. Firefox has just done an update yesterday so maybe this has sorted it. Either way the problem seems to have cleared.

2. I was viewing the website on a laptop which slightly shrank the images and didn’t display them full size. When looking on my desktop monitor everything is sharp and as wanted.

3. Thanks for the code!

That’s good to hear :)

Cheers

i have a huge problem, i dont get whats going on but everything is shifted to the right on my shop/product page. could you please tell me whats going on!! http://039971e.netsolhost.com/2014/shop/

Hey lacostemedia,

I can’t anything going on like you’ve described – are you still experiencing this issue?

Cheers

Hi :)

I have a question related to connecting the media files to Amazon s3.

is it possible for the theme? What I am looking for, is the ability to upload all images, videos to Amazon s3 cloud server and connecting them to my website with salient theme through a link, so that the images do not overload the website.

is this possible?

Thank you , Martyna

Hey again! I would actually pose that question on the page itself for the best answer – but I wouldn’t think so

Thank you

You’re welcome :)

Two problems

1- On using the facebook like box code and Alpine Photo Tile for instagram, your footer looks fantastic (in ascend). However when you click on another page the images and like box do not show unless you refresh page. Is there a fix? I see there is a number of issues on here with things not appearing in these instances.

2 – On http://themeforest.net/item/salient-responsive-multipurpose-theme/full_screen_preview/4363266 when you click on view larger you can scroll through images. I’ve looked at documentation and tried a few things but can’t seem to replicate this? Can you please shed some light on this.

Hey niccyboy,

1. The next update will address issues with using AJAX loading

2. That’s an image gallery element with the “On click” option set to “Open Prettyphoto”

Cheers

1 – Thanks sounds good

2 – Can you explain this a bit more? Or is there a video/tutorial on this. I cannot see these options anywhere

Hey again! Here’s a screenshot of what the option looks like when editing the image gallery element: http://i.imgur.com/jfobjmH.jpg

First of all, this is the BEST theme ever!

I have a question: Is it possible to set a default “Page Header Background Color & Height” for all of my blog posts so that every time I write a post I don’t have to adjust the custom options on each post page.

THANKS! KM

Hey KM!

This would only be possible if you used the full screen header option for the blog settings in the Salient options panel

Cheers

Hi,

i think i didn’t understand how this theme work before purchasing it :/

Is there a way to have the home page of a blog to display the posts like the portfolio type 2 ?

Thanks

Hey LEpouet,

The blog and portfolio styles are two separate things for now and while you could change the blog to display on any page of the site, it still has to be in one of the blog styles.

Cheers

Hi,

I added Hellobar – https://www.hellobar.com/ to the top of my page, the bar has option “To push content down”, but right now it is over header menu. I asked them for support, but they said the problem is not in their script. Could you help me?

Here is a screenshot – > https://www.dropbox.com/s/7t0xh77jwupsv21/Screenshot%202014-09-13%2023.23.52.png?dl=0

Thanks! It’s very bizarre but doesn’t seem to be doing that from css alone, could you deactivate the auto optimize plugin just to verify that’s not messing with it?

Hi, unfortunately if I disable Autoptimize still Hellobar is not pushing the content down. As temporary solution I did this : #header-outer { margin-top: 32px; } @media only screen and (max-width: 1000px) { #header-outer { margin-top: -4px; } }

Ok thanks for mentioning – i’ll try and look into it more

Hello how do I make the logo non clickable?

Could I see the URL so I can assist? :)

Add this into the custom css box located in your Salient Options panel:

#header-secondary-outer .sf-menu li {
    position: relative!important;
    z-index: -9!important;
}

Hi Again,

I’ve added a title and button to my home page slider. The size of it looks great on a desktop and iPad. When viewed on a iPhone its a little small. Any way to bump up the size of this only for iPhones? See explanation here… http://i.imgur.com/0fMlESt.png

Thank you in advance!

Hey!

Add this into the custom css box in the Salient options panel:

@media only screen and (max-width: 690px) {
   body .nectar-slider-wrap[data-fullscreen="false"] .swiper-slide .button a {
      font-size: 8px!important;
      padding: 6px 12px!important;
      line-height: 18px!important;
      letter-spacing: 0.5px!important;
   }

html body .nectar-slider-wrap[data-fullscreen="false"] .swiper-slide .button.transparent a, html body .nectar-slider-wrap[data-fullscreen="false"] .swiper-slide .button.transparent_2 a {
    padding: 6px 8px!important;
}
}

Hi ThemeNectar,

Do you know the CSS to have a bottom boarder when hovered/visited on the navigation? For example, see website here… http://focuslabllc.com/

Thank you in advance!

Hey!

body header#top nav .sf-menu li.current-menu-item > a {
   border-bottom: 2px solid #fff !important;
}

thank you!

You’re welcome :)

Also the “Add to Cart” button is misaligned if “Enable this to only allow one of this item to be bought in a single order” is checked.

Url: https://elusiveenterprises.com/product/retail-kit/

Hey jtnadams,

Use this:

.woocommerce div.product form.cart .button, .woocommerce-page div.product form.cart .button, .woocommerce #content div.product form.cart .button, .woocommerce-page #content div.product form.cart .button {
   margin-left: 0!important;
}

Cheers

Thank you, it’s fixed!

You’re welcome :)

Hello,

I have just installed WP Booking Calendar and I’m trying to set it up with Salient theme. Unfortunately, there’s some kind of jQuery conflict when I use those two together. At least that’s what I found out so far searching up Google. The problem is that none of the solutions I found on the web works. When I’m trying to set the date in the WP Booking Calendar’s settings the datepicker should appear. Because of the jQuery conflict (I suppose) it doesn’t. I’m pretty sure the fault is in the theme, because when I switch to a different one, everything works correctly.

I need to get the booking page working very soon in order to start sales on my website, so please help me in fixing this problem.

BR, Loup

Hey Loup!

If you could please provide the URL I’d be glad to take a look :)

Cheers

My apologies I assumed it was a front-end issue, if the date picker problem is in the admin panel please open a ticket in regards with your admin credentials so I can take a look at what’s going on :) themenectar.ticksy.com/
