Hey,
I want to know how I could categorize my blog posts with ‘tags’ instead of categories.. is this possible? It can’t be done in the shortcode for bloglist(in fusionbuilder)

Hey Jerôme!
You can add tags to each blog post and they will show in the meta data for each post, however categories are what we use in the blog shortcode as they are more higher level. Currently only categories can be used to pull posts from the blog shortcode.

On the demo on http://theme-fusion.com/avada/fusion-slider-full-width/ you use the video http://theme-fusion.com/avada/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/shv_hand.mp4. The original video are cropped in height but full width on the demo page (500 + pixels in height) how is that done, my video just shrink in width to fit heigt. It’s aYoutube video.

Where do you edit the Tagline boxes / promotion boxes – I can not find them in the Avada theme anywhere

Are you editing one on a page you already made? If so edit the page and you will see tagline boxes there. If you want to make anew one, use the builder or generator and select the tagline element, http://d.pr/i/8ddv

Hello, the team. Really AMAZING work! And I’d just like to propose a small problem~ You use the $size = ‘full’ for timeline, grid and some portfolio layouts, but if I uploaded an extremely large image for example 4500×3000 px, the time for loading the web page will be too long. Why not just use ‘large’ as default 1024px in WordPress?

We do that so there are no limitations, and so the full image ratio can show (no cropping). Also, the site width can be larger than 1024px, it can be up to 100% width of browser window, or for example 1400px.
But generally, its best to not upload an image of that size 94500×3000) s that is very big and will take time for browsers to load.

The featured image can have a custom size if you wish, you enter that in px or % value in the post options box.
Yes 1024px is large enough if your site width is that size. It depends on your site width and if you use a sidebar or not, etc. Overall though, it is best to upload the images at the size you need, uploading large 4500px images will take up a lot of server space too very quickly. There are several image editing apps (free and paid) and plugins that can resize the images for you if that is an issue.

Thank you for explaining this. But what I really want is uploading a original size image but showing a reasonable-sized thumbnail in the blog or portfolio page, which allows viewers to download the full-size image and not waiting too long for the page to show. So I’m pointing this out to see if there can be an official update with this feature rather than I modify the codes every time…
This is kind of a unique request to happen for blog featured images, at least for the 1st featured image. The custom featured image size is not custom code, it is just an option where you enter values. Its possible a 3rd party plugin may be able to do this though more the way you want.
You still do NOT understand my demand. A large image can be shown to be small through specifying the size parameters, but it is still the original file, which means the file size is large, maybe 3MB. I need a resized image thumbnail showing, which may have been resized to 500KB, rather than showing the 3MB file to that size.
In addition, I don’t want to upload the 500KB file since I need the original-sized image to be available for the viewers. So any solutions except my modifying the $size variable?
Yes I do, I fully understand your request and did before. What I was telling you is what options we include.
In my opinion the other option is ot not upload such large images. If that is not an option, then yes lets assume you have to modify the $size variable.
@savardhc I’ve checked on my installation of WordPress and Avada and neither of those files come with Avada or WordPress so either yourself or a third party must have put those files there. wp-content/themes/Avada/help.php (no such file) wp-includes/js/crop/404.php (no such file)

How do I add an image map to the header? I need to have a few icon images to be linked to different websites. I couldn’t find this in the knowledge base.

Is this for google maps? You can add custom map markers (images) to the google map shortcode. Choose “custom” for map styling and info box styling, that will allow you to style it as you need, and also upload images as map markers, as you see here. http://theme-fusion.com/avada/contact/
The image urls go in the icon= field. I would recommend using tbeh builder or generator, and filling in your options from there.

1…. Has AVADA theme post-page type quote? I would need to mailing inspirational quote of the day in real time to my subscribers. would I need a plugin for that? since almost every theme now come with 6 type post-page include quote, I appreciate the answer. The bkgd image should be extending the full length of the page, so should the content area. I believe you need to update your theme as this was fixed in a newer version. What version are you on? Latest is 3.6.1

1. Yes it is, all languages are submitted by our user base and controlled on Transifex. Danish was pretty much fully complete until our last update because we added all the language strings for theme options. But any info on the front end is complete.

Not at this time, they are static. That is a nice idea though, and could be something we add in the future. We have an ideas section of our support site that allows customers to submit ideas and for everyone else to vote on, the more votes it gets the faster it will make it into the theme.
