Hi. I had to disable it, as my site didnt work when enabeled. But when I turned on the JAVA-side-load (the wite screen) the site certainly turns white, but the overlay does not disappear, leaving the site 100% white.
http://www.erhverv.peterpackroff.dk/DO you know of this error? + is it possible to load it black instead of white?
Switch the method in the page transitions section of the admin panel to “simulated AJAX”
Im not quite sure what you mean. Ive only got one button (to turn off and on). I have now turned it off).
You need to update to the current release and more options will display
Say if I have a blog – (or any other site, actually) with a sidebar – and I wanted to make the sidebar “stick” on scroll – would that be possible? It would be a great feature also helping on usability.
However, it should not be a general rule, because there may be more side-widget-columns on a page. So it needed to be a rule set on the specific element.
Do you get me? And would that be possible? I bet there would be about 23.000 of your customers appreciating this feature
I can see the need for the feature – but as of now it would require some custom javascript modding – unfortunately css alone wouldn’t be the answer
uuuh I believe I will be soooo exited for the future released update

My blog page just disappeared with no explanation or error messages….i need you guys to fix this. www.maijintheartist.com//blog
the nectar slider isnt showing up anymore on my blog page. its in my visual editor just fine. see here: http://prntscr.com/4sa4o2
i even created a backup for it here: http://maijintheartist.com/blog-3d-backup/
Hey maijintheartist,
currently I’m seeing the blog page load correctly – have you already sorted this?
Cheers
HI there.
On this page I tried to load a background image. But its not displaying full width. Any chance you can help me getting a full width?
Also, when on iPad (not on desktop!) the background image keeps repeating.
Any help is appreciated.
http://www.erhverv.peterpackroff.dk/blog/Following is in my CSS box
.container-wrap { background-image: url(‘http://www.erhverv.peterpackroff.dk/wp-content/uploads/bord-baggrund.jpg')!important; background-attachment: fixed!important; background-position: right top;
}
These issues will be sorted in 4.8.1 which is coming tonight
Thats why I love you guys! – and the width issue is also noted in my msg, right?
Yes
Hi mate(s). After the update the background image is still not working in responsive-mode.
The image is set to “no repeat” and “cover”. But the background image is not fixed on ipad and iphone.
Any possible help?
Thanks a million
Peter
www.erhverv.peterpackroff.dk – the frontpage
You have custom css setting that fixed position – by default mobile devices can’t process fixed css like that http://stackoverflow.com/questions/23236158/how-to-replicate-background-attachment-fixed-on-ios
So should I use this instead? Or am I on the wrong track? background-attachment: fixed; Honest to God – I did try myself before asking you.
Both css methods to achieve fixed position styling on desktop unfortunately will not hold true on mobile – as of I am aware since they are intentionally disabled for smartphones you’d need a little custom development or possibly some javascript
Ah ok
PS – If I decide to use a mobile version – is it possible to continue using responsive design for desktop, but not on tablets or mobile?
Cheers
Peter
It would be but only through some custom modding
For the dropdown navigation I’ve set some links, which point to different anchors on one page. The hover state works normal, unless that particular page is active. Then the colour in the dropdown menu doesn’t change on hover. I guess it’s because these links have an active state? Is there a way to change this?
Hey mansatu,
could you kindly share your URL so I can take a look?
Cheers
Try adding this into the custom css box located in your Salient Options panel:
body header#top .sf-menu li ul li a:hover {
background-color: #e8e7d6!important;
}
Works! Thanks!!!
You’re welcome
Is the nectar slider blurry issue fixed? I’m not convinced again this is an iphone6 running ios8 and it doesn’t look sharp to me: http://richpearson.co.uk
Can’t see any blurriness occurring on an iPad mini running ios8 on Safari/Chrome – but in the process of testing with an iPhone to see if there’s a difference
Ok cool let me know what you find out re iphone6 ios8 please
4.8.1 should have definitely sorted it
Hiya, since the update my parallax images have lost there position they look all blurry and zoomed in, infact you can’t really tell it’s an image see my homepage http://richpearson.co.uk and other pages including this one that has 2 parallax images on it: http://richpearson.co.uk/adventures/my-life-in-snooker/
I actually can’t see anything that’s jumping out at me with the parallax section on your home page (it seems you’ve turned that effect off on the other page though) are you also noticing the same behavior on the demo?
Really that’s odd, haven’t turned anything off as far as I know
hey, do you have an advice, how to avoid gaps in the mansory full width portfolio page?
Thanks
Hey ardalan7, could you share your URL so I can take a look?
Thanks for the URL – it seems all your images meet the minimum requirements so at this point you could either activate the constrain max columns to 4 option to make it easier (so you don’t have to worry about the changing columns from 3-5 on desktops depending on the screen size) or use this plugin to easily rearrange the projects to clear the gaps https://wordpress.org/plugins/intuitive-custom-post-order/
This is an amazing theme, a couple things I would like to suggest for future updates would be:
1. Expanded options for Call To Action – it would be amazing to be able to use the visual composer to make custom call to actions.
2. Expanded options for the Nectar Slider and Home Slider – once again using the visual composer to create custom slides would be a great addition.
Hey zackgemmell,
Thanks for the suggestions
ever since you all went into my admin, my site does not work? I have a white screen? http://mbianchi.us/ what happened guys
I have tried debugging it, reinstalled the theme, etc… I did notice there are a couple errors in the codebase for init.js? All worked fine prior to you all going in and doing stuff? Navigation loads, just seems that the page doesn’t initialize?
I already have a ticket in with admin credentials
https://www.dropbox.com/s/119v9gbavllgoqj/errors.png?dl=0I got it fixed, but now I have the line under the transparent nav? Your updates say it fixed it?
Hey mbianchi27, I can’t see the screenshot you’ve attached – but there was an option added in the last update to remove the header border if you don’t want it. That’s located in the header options tab of the Salient options panel
linecon.css is missing…
The file salient\nectar\tinymce\tinymce-class.php keeps calling for it, producing a lot of 404s within my Logs.
Hey luxerman, that file was added into the bottom of the style.css file – thanks for reporting that tinymce is still calling it so I can address it
I updated to 4.8, but I’m still getting a blurry nectar slider on both iPad and iPhone iOS 8, even after clearing the cache and cookies.
Yes, unfortunately there was one more thing that needed to be added – the minor update tonight will sort it.
Fixed! Thank you!!
Cheers
I just upgraded to 4.8 by simply updating the files on my FTP server and now: 1. the sidebar has disappeared on our blog page. i’m still using the same template ‘masonry w/sidebar’ (again, no settings were changed)
any thoughts?
This issue will be sorted in the release due out tonight
Ni Nectar. Thanks for the update. I hope a demo and videos of the new features are coming soon. It’s hard for me to see what new features have been added. 1) Is it possible to have a left side menu that’s always visible? 2) Did a slide out menu for mobile make it in this release? 3) Is it possible now to have light and dark menus based on the Page/Project header settings? Thanks.
Hey joe88,
Videos and a new demo will be here this week
1. Not without modding the css for the side widget area
2. Yes – you can see an example on the ascend demo
3. Unfortunately not yet – but there are indeed new header coloring options
Cheers
I noticed that the video file on the homepage is causing errors on my site and also on your demo as well. And they are calling duplicate files with just an added ?123 at the end. All the webm files seem to do this and this can cause a bottleneck in the page rendering process:
Here’s my site and your demo for reference: http://ironbullbbq.com/ http://themeforest.net/item/salient-responsive-multipurpose-theme/full_screen_preview/4363266 And you can see an example of the call errors here: http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/dDMpqS/http://themeforest.net/item/salient-responsive-multipurpose-theme/full_screen_preview/4363266Thanks
Hey tspino1,
when using the loop option on the Nectar Slider since some of the videos get loaded two times this causes issues in Chrome and so a fix around it is to stop the initial loading an separate the names so chrome will load both in instead of leaving one blank – you can either turn the loop option off or open the nectar-slider.js file in the js folder and delete the section starting with
//webkit looped slider first video fix
Cheers
Thanks. But when I set loop=”false” to the Nectar Slider shortcode nothing happens. Is there another place to turn this off?
Hey – it seems you’ve removed the nectar slider on that page for a regular row with video BG so I can’t take a look at the moment
I added a nectar slider to this page: http://ironbullbbq.com/2954-2/
Thanks for the link – I can’t see the video loading twice on there though with the method as described above. Are you seeing 2 copies in the network tab still?
yep, http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/d8VBhZ/http://ironbullbbq.com/2954-2/
You can see it’s trying to load this file actually 4 times: Iron-Bull-BBQ-Background-1.webmsd.webm
In the actual browser network tab (Firefox/Chrome) I can only see the video file being called once – sometimes Chrome loads videos in partial stages which shows up like that, but it’s no longer being loaded twice with the ?id=etc on the end. Are you still seeing that as the case in your browser network tab?
In pingdom I still see 4 calls, 3 of them being errors, and in Chrome’s Network tab I see 2 calls with the first being an error and causing a 2.2 second latency:
http://screencast.com/t/TbES8t6fnxGHey – it appears you’ve switched to using a row BG from the slider – make sure to delete this section in the init.js file as well now: http://pastebin.com/Td3GWGXe
Thanks for that. I removed that code but it’s still happening.
For some reason whatever I place into the child-theme’s functions.php file, nothing happens? Is there something else I have to do to make it work?
I’m following the instructions here – http://docs.woothemes.com/document/exclude-a-category-from-the-shop-page/
I want to exclude products from category – “Featured” from appearing within the main store page. Not sure if there’s a conflict due to the theme and woocommerce?
Hey luxerman,
the code there should work – have you tried it in the parent theme as well to confirm that it only won’t take in the child?
Cheers
Yes, tried it. It works in the parent theme, not in the child…
Hmm, try setting a priority number in the action such as
add_action( ‘pre_get_posts’, ‘custom_pre_get_posts_query’,99);
Guys – you really need to test your updates more thoroughly before release. The latest update causes catastrophic issues, changing colors back to defaults, erases custom CSS, screwing up all separator’s with text so now they have a line going through them. What a disaster. I’ve been a huge fan but this is very disappointing and will cost me hours of work and hundreds of dollars in wasted marketing while I review every page.
Hey co50, of the known issues with 4.8 none of the ones you mentioned are confirmed. Are you using a child theme or have the option on in your general settings tab for “Move Dynamic/Custom CSS Into External Stylesheet?” If that option were on you would need to click “save changes” again in your options panel after updating the theme so that the dynamic styles could get written again.
Hi, no child theme but yes, I did have that option checked. I figured out yesterday that clicking Save Changes would do the trick (I recommend you include that tip in the changelog as it would help out a lot) – thank god too because it had me thinking all my custom stuff was gone and I’d have to do a site restore.
However, I can say that the Text with Separator feature now produces the line right through the text. This bug occurred several updates back and was fixed but it’s back again. I’ve since had to scramble to change these to Text Blocks without the line because I haven’t had the time to figure out the css to override it.
Hey again,
Could you share a URL so I can take a look at that issue? I can’t seem to replicate locally or on the demo
Sure. It appears twice on this page:
http://co50.com/services/web-designer-ri/Thanks – this is indeed a bug, if you want an early fix please open a ticket in regards with your admin credentials so I can apply it for you
themenectar.ticksy.com/
Is there a simple piece of code I can insert somewhere or is this that complicated that you need to apply it yourself?
Open your init.js file located in the js folder, search for “vc text separator color” and replace that section with this:
http://pastebin.com/DqCa4wZAThanks. I implemented it and instead of a line going through it now forces a gray background on the text, no matter what the background element’s color is. The way it worked before this bug was the text would have no background color i.e. transparent – it would fit fine on any color bg, and the line would either be on the sides or just either side. The line going through the text actually looks better than the forced gray bg so I reverted back to that for now.
Sorry there was a typo in that last snippet – change it to: http://pastebin.com/iEkVDD1K
Perfect. Thanks!
You’re welcome
Hello none of my gallery sliders seem to work
http://redrice.ca/New/show-off-your-work/Please help!
Hey, that link seems to go to a 404 – but checking http://redrice.ca/New/ I can see a slider – are you still having this issue?
for future theme updates will the nectar settings and custom css settings be lost in the admin panel?
Hey – Those are stored in your database and will persist through theme updates
Hi I have a question, great theme by the way. I was looking at the mobile layout of the site..so my question is, would i be able to have just one video slider for desktop and 3-4 image sliders for mobile using the same slider?
Hey keyannam!
Yes – but it would require some custom css to hide/display the appropriate slider based on the viewport.
Cheers
