how can i obtain : 1- a blog page with a grid 2- make it show the feature image’s thumbnail for each post 3- and when hover on the image, it will flip and show 15 (or any other number) of the first words of the blog post itself?

1. You can add the blog shortcode to any page and choose grid, or use the traditional assigned blog page. 2. This will automatically happen.
3. I’m not sure I understand this part. The post excerpts (words) will not show on hover, they show below the featured image. To get this, it would require code customizations.

1. is your theme easy to edit? (CSS) I’m so sick of purchasing or trying themes that promise customizability only to be very disappointed.
2. I’m a photographer, and the only thing that I am not 100% liking about this theme are the portfolio options. Are there new options in the making? (Bigger images, a more dynamic grid view.. that kind of thing)

1. Yes we feel it is. There is a custom CSS field in theme options for you to place all your custom CSS. We have a large amount of options too that most users find they can avoid using CSS in the first place.
2. We do have plans for new features, however the size of the images is up to you. You can control the site width, so the larger the site width the larger the images. Also there are 1-6 column pages to choose from for the main portfolio page.

Does anybody else have issues with woo-commerce after the latest avada update that they could fix. My woo-commerce is not working properly! I need to fix it asap and the support takes minimum 24 hours + ? I am desperate!
I reverted my site back to the previous older versions of both the theme and the woo-commerce so it is working again. Not gonna update this theme for a while…..

We are all on latest woo and Avada and there are no issues. We’ve been using it for some time now even though 3.6.2 was just released.
Something went wrong during the update. Also, our support replies are about 12 hours right now, and will be less later today.
Most likely when you updated, old files were left on your server. But ti depends on what issues you were having. It could of also just been cache.
Either way, we can take a look on our forum for this. We would need to know the details of what went wrong.

I recently bought this theme. I have an issue. The theme works great with no other plugins activated. I have installed and activated iThemes Security which in other comments you have recommended. My issue is when its activated I lose all the Fusion Page Builder menu options. Have you seen this or is it something with my hosting company? Possibly not enough memory?

Curious, where did yo see we recommend iThemes security? We’ve not tested it with that so cannot say for certain.

Hello I just moved a site using avada theme from one server to another and found that the fusion builder was no longer showing when trying to edit the pages.

i went to your support and found that it might need to upgrade the theme version, which i proceeded to do, then to my dismay i found that it had removed all the info from the homepage and the about us, and still no fusion builder.
I have sent a request in your support, please could someone get back in regards to this problem asap, as the site is now live.

Got it fixed with a small upgate to the memory in the wp-config, but still lost all the data from the home page.

Nothing done during an update should remove any page content, that can only be done if the page is deleted or changed. We will take a look at it on the forum.

Hi. Trying to update to 3.6.2 . I have put Api key and codes but when updating I’m geting: “An error occurred while updating Avada: Could not remove the old theme.” Any ideas? Thanks

I would recommend checking folder permissions for the Avada theme folder. Or go ahead and update it manually should work.

Hmmm what kind of column do you mean? You can add a menu to a sidebar or footer or sliding bar section. And our mega menu has column attributes too.
But a menu from wp menu section cannot be placed in a page column, you would need to add custom links instead.

Hmm it should show the error 404 page in this case. It seems some changes made have caused this. Its hard to say without knowing what may of changed, have you tried to upload the original files again?

is there a shortcode that produces a blog with grid view, containing only images (thumbnails) with the rollover and nothing else? I tried this, but it adds also text or repeats the image on bottom of the image.

Hmmm it appears to be repeating the image because you have a featured image set and the same image inserted in the post content field. Only use one image and it should only show one. Or try to put thumbnails=”no” to not show the one.

This is a weird functionality. I always set Featured Images and that shortcode should show me only the thumbnails, nothing else. I cannot delete images from post content (it will show the text anyway) because I’ve set that in single posts featured images are not shown. So, I must add them manually somewhere in the content…
If I set thumbnail to no, instead, it will show all content (image and text) of the post, which is pretty horrible.
Is there a solution for this? I want a blog shortcode showing only thumbnails which are clickable. As simple as that…

A close solution could be enable excerpts and set them to 0, but it remains an empty box under the thumbnail. And I am forced to put something there (e.g. title). There is no way to have only images with the rollover feature in grid view. Am I right?
I always set Featured Images and that shortcode should show me only the thumbnails, nothing else.
This feature and functionality has not changed though, the blog grid will always show the box because there is also padding there even if the excerpt and meta and title is not there. So no, the grid layout for blog will not be able to only show the image with nothing else, it woudl require customizations to do that.
If all those options are selected to hide everything but the image, then maybe we should allow it to only show the image with no box, I’ll make a note to discuss this with dev team, but that will take some adjustments also because of the borders and bottom element. I’ll make a note though.
For future items like this, please post on our forum. It is easier to understand the situation when we can look at the sites backend, plus that is where our dev team works.

Ok, as I thought… So, is this issue going to be part of the next release? I don’t to make to many customization because I use different views for different categories, so for some of them it is fine for this case it is not.

Unfortunately no I cannot say it will be part of next release. It is not really a bug, just how it is setup to work. Also we have to take into account how everyone else is using it, because it has been like this since we added it about a year ago.
It’s on my list though and we’ll discuss it and see what is done.

I understand that it’s not a bug, but a choice. That’s fine! The fact is that with a small effort you can improve this functionality because basically everything is already there.
The same for Recent Posts shortcode. You could make it as carousel (same function as in Related Posts – in single post).
Sorry to bother you this much , but it is a pity that this beautiful template doesn’t cover these functionalities… take it as suggestion!

Oh yes we fully understand that However, we have a set plan for updates and when we waiver from that and add things to it, more testing and time is needed. While it may seem of little effort, to do it properly it needs tested, along with anything else that it can affect.
We have amazing things coming to the theme, some of them are the most requested features from our ideas section of our forum, others are ones we feel will vastly improve the theme.

Hmmm yes you could put that in the footer. It appears to be a custom menu in each column with a heading.
Is there a limit to the number of columns as I would want to match the top menu.
You can have 1-6 columns throughout the theme.

Hmmm maybe this is a bad installation, or you may need to update to the latest woo and avada version?
Does the same thing happen with the default WP theme? If it does then something else is going on, maybe permalink issue.

So you need to create a page for booking or reservation? That can be done but is not an included feature, you would need to look into a plugin that offers booking and reserving.
