Hi I love the theme, I just updated it Total 1.5.4 and I’m having two main issues.
1. On the homepage, I want the title disabled. Every time I click disable and Update the page. It resets right back to enable. I can’t take the title off. See home page here: http://aandblifestyles.com/
2. For the Layer Slider. I can’t figure out how to add a transition to a text layer. I see the panel to edit the transition easing but how do I actually pick slide from top. For some reason all I can do is set the transition for the entire slide at the top of the page and not for each layer. 1. Double check your “custom fields” and make sure you don’t have any duplicated, I noticed this bug on a couple people’s installs and it was caused by duplicated meta data.
2. To slide from the top you would edit the “Y” offsets.
Hi, For 1. I don’t have any custom fields duplicated. Would you please take another look and see if you can help solve the problem. I need to finish this site for a client.
Would you tell me what the value options are for wpex_disable_title I have tried adding this as a custom field with “disable” and true as a value and it doesn’t work. When I hit UPDATE, this wpex_disable_title field disappears from the list of custom fields and values.
I have also tried adding the custom css through the Total theme custom css interface. .page-id-243 #main.site-main.clr.page-header.centered-minimal-page-header{ display:none; }
Now, I’ll confess I’m not a CSS expert and I’ve tried many variations of the statement above with fewer class selectors and with and without #main and it still doesn’t work.
Do you have an idea how I can solve this problem?
Ah… fixed it with CSS. here’s the code if anybody else needs to know how to fix a similar issue.

Just replace the page-id-XXX with the id number of the page. You can see the Id # if you inspect the source.

I am trying to have an image and when its clicked it opens a video lightbox. I’ve tried to use the “Single Image” module. I’ve enter the embed URL into a field. I’ve put the youtube embed code in the “Video, SWF, Flash, URL Lightbox” but whenever I save it deletes the code and just links back to the image in the light box.
Are you suppose to put the youtube embed code or just the URL ?
okay I got it! I needed to add “Extra class name” “video-lightbox”. Now is there anyway to make it autoplay?
okay its not working 3 colums and in each column i have one image that I want to link to a lightbox youtube video…..any ideas?

1. No. Because the lightbox support so different video sites it would just slow things down to include auto-playiing support so it hasn’t been added.
2. The size can be controlled, but not yet, I can update the theme to include the width/height options for the lightbox for the next update. Send me a private message and I will email you the updated file for you if you want.
3. No, I have purposely prevented for several reasons and wouldn’t advice it.

I’ve got a problem with the links in my staff-grid. When I click the links I get a HTTP 404-error.
I found a post with the same question and this was the answer: ‘Oh this is just a WordPress bug. Go to settings->permalinks and click the save button, it should fix up the urls’.
Maybe it’s because i have put the Permalinks in Custom structure (/ category / postname /) but I did that because in Default you get a strange name and Custom aught tot be better with Google addWords.
Maybe I’m doing something wrong? And hope you can help me. Thanks!

Make sure you are adding it like this “ category ” otherwise it could cause issues with your permalinks across the entire site and cause weird things: http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks#Category_base_and_Tag_base

That looks good, you shouldn’t have any issues with the custom post types. I just tested it locally as well to double check and it works fine for me.
If you switch to just the standard (generally better for SEO anyway) -http://cl.ly/image/0G2l2q301N2N – does it work?
If so it’s likely a server related issue, your .htaccess file may not be updating correctly and you may have to check the permissions on the file.
How can I add a button to a 1/3 row, and make its width equal to row’s (100%)?

Hello, I use several icon-box on page and in the “Heading” i use
<br />after saving it works fine, but if I open icon-box to change some other settings
<br />in Heading disappears, and I have to add it each time
This is because the Heading field has validation that removes these tags (for security and to prevent conflicts).
If you really need breaks, I would suggest leaving the title empty and adding the title inline within the icon box content and using the styling tools to make the font a bit bigger and bold if needed.
It’s just the strangest thing and I know it sounds crazy and you say that there is no known bug in the theme options but my formatting (which is only typeface changes as well as a couple of small changes to the “own CSS”) totally disappears when I change the color of the footer in the appearance panel. Did you ever ask your webhost about this? It sounds like the server is timing out maybe it’s something that can be seeing in server error logs?
Finally figured it out and of course the error was on my part:-) I am a total newbie and managed to make changes both in the appearance panel and theme options which caused the formatting to disappear. I’m looking forward to your next release and am already planning a new website with your theme.

Instead of Title Background Image (which is a feature I love), is it possible to have that be a Background video? If not through the page settings, maybe via Visual Composer?
You will need to use a plugin for this. Adding an option for video backgrounds is a lot of bulk that I would rather keep out of the theme so that it’s fast (because most users won’t use it).
Can I have centered logo with header two? And, can I translate ’”search” term to spanish and change its font color? ‘Thank you.
Header style 2 by default has content to the right side, so to center the logo would be possible, but only with some custom CSS. Example:
.header-two-logo { float: none; text-align: center; }
.header-two-logo a { display: inline; display: inline-block; float: none; }
.header-two-logo img { display: inline; display: inline-block; }

Also I noticed there is no bottom margin

Hi there I need some help – i’m customizing my theme and if i change for example the backgroundcolour of the title, the colourfield comes up with “Array” in it. Same issue regarding the ids of the slider – the theme changes into “Array”. It seams something with the Page Settings is not working right – have you any idea? Kind regards, Sue

Hi AJ, I’m going great with the theme (x4 purchases) however have run into a little issue on one website for a client. The server is unfortunately a Windows sever that I have to install it on, and whenever I try to make changes in the Theme Options, the browser stalls for ages then pops up the message:
“The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers’
I know WP on Windows hosting is the bain of many peoples lives but I was wondering if you had come across this before and know of a possible fix? otherwise it works fine – if I can only get the Theme Options to work…

I’ m having issues with the Visual Composer; I can only edit some of my pages; the ones I can’t is I media and Kontakt. This is the homepage I’m trying to edit: http://www.jenny-andersson.se/
The Visual Composer is up to date as per the Changelog (4.3.2) but it indicates that there is a new version (4.3.4), is that what I should do in order to be able to edit all my pages? I have also purchased the Visual Composer separately in order to receive automatic updates for my client, should I changes to this in order for it to work best ?
I am also trying to add a divider to all pages and have used the same code for all of them:
width="1/1"]vcex_divider style="solid" icon_color="#000" icon_size="14px" margin_top="0px" margin_bottom="45px"however it appears differently on different pages, compare Kontakt where it is very close to the logo (despite a top margin of 0) and doesn’t expand full width to I media where it has a lot of space above it and it also extends to the width of the page, both of which I like. Help me understand please how I can make sure this line stays the same on all pages. The ultimate solution would of course be to include it in the header but this seems to be too hard for my abilities but any help in this regard would be much appreciated.
Update: now that my formatting is lost (se my other question further down) I can edit the above mentioned pages again via Visual Composer… something is very strange here….

- No need to update the plugin yet, I discovered a bug in 4.3.4 which is why I haven’t updated it yet – http://www.wpexplorer.com/changelogs/total/ – it should still work 100% on 4.3.2
- What error do you get when trying to edit the pages?
- I’m not sure I am understanding the issue with the divider as I can’t see a difference. However, if you want a line on all pages I would highly recommend you just add a border using custom CSS to your header rather then manually adding a divider, it will make it easier to modify/edit/remove.

Everything is all sorted out now but I have a short question regarding the border which I have added to the header css; I do not want this full width but rather to match the content below, what css would I use?
Make sure to target only the div that has the “container” class then and not the entire header wrap.

I’m having a serious problem with Total and WPML. The latest versions of both the theme and the WPML String Translation plugin don’t work together as expected.

This would require altering the comment_form function, it’s not something easily done via any theme function (on this or any theme). You will have to hook into the “comment_form_default_fields” filter via a child theme. The only possible way would be to edit all the theme templates to move the code up. Because the way it’s displayed on mobile is by the order in which the HTML is added to the site. The theme puts the sidebar below the content for SEO reasons.
