Looks like the latest version of Total theme has a bug regarding the tabs functionality. I am working on a website for a client and he wanted me to use http://totaltheme.wpengine.com/base/services-tour/ for some of the pages which I did but I wasn’t getting the expected results. I found out that the latest version adds two css classes i.e. wpb_tabs and wpb_tour to the div with the class tab-style-alternative-one while the live demo only have wpb_tour css class so I had to remove wpb_tabs via jQuery.
I thought I should mentioned it in case someone else might face the same problem.
P.S. my client has bought the theme so that’s you cannot see purchase icon with my comment 
P.P.S. I am big fan of Total theme and have already made two of my clients to use Total theme for their websites.
Unfortunately it is a bug in the last version of the Visual Composer. However, I haven’t updated the Visual Composer included in the theme due to a much larger bug 
I am working closely with the developer plugin to hopefully fix it soon!

Hello Hope all is well. I am having difficulty with the parallax on the mobile and tablets. I have an image behind text as the first row. For some reason the image will not display on mobile and tablets? I also put in the code from marinet that you had recommended: @media screen and (max-width: 860px) { .vcex-background-parallax { background-attachment: scroll; }
since I am having trouble with the parallax on mobile and tablets. When it is displayed vertically on the tablet the images are displayed properly but when I turn it horizontal they become all blurred. Please advise trying to get everything all set for mobile and tablets, thank you.
I should clarify, the image as the background that will not display is not parallax

So we created a second version visible only on tablet that is a default image (not parallax) but when the page is opened on an iPad in landscape mode, the site thinks it is a desktop and still shows the parallax version, until you rotate the iPad to portrait, then it recognizes the device as a tablet and switches the images. But also, with just some small CSS you can make the parallax background function just like a standard background (I’m assuming you mean stretch?).

Sorry for the delay!
1. The issue with the newsletter is simple. The problem here is you essentially copied the entire webpage for mailchimp (so you have a webpage inside a webpage). This is the correct way to embed your form – http://kb.mailchimp.com/lists/signup-forms/add-a-signup-form-to-your-website#Embed-Form-options

2. Sorry I still don’t quite understand the issue with the footer. Can you fix the mailchimp issue first, it’s causing quite some layout issues on the front-end, it’s possible it may also fix the social issue.
I followed these instructions from Mailchimp. I want to place the full form so this is what they say:
-Paste the Signup form URL into the browser address bar and press the enter key on your computer’s keyboard.
-After your form loads, right-click the page and select your browser’s page source option.
-Copy/paste this code into your website.
So that’s what I did.. Any idea what is going wrong?
I just installed the widget ‘MailChimp List Subscribe Form’ to place the subscribe form but I keep having the problem of my menu appearing underneath the form unfortunately..
Help with the Visual Composer Please!
FYI: I’ve got a fresh instal of wordpress 4.0, brand new download of the total theme, which contains the version 4.3.2 of the Visual Composer
Total and the child theme installed fine no problem and so did all the plugins. But when I activate all the plugins (just the ones that came with the template, no other third party plugins) and click on Create a New Page, a blank page appears?
When I disactivate all the plugins appart from the Visual Composer one, then it allows me to create a new page? So there must be some kinf od conflict between plugins, BUT, when I disactivate the Total Theme and activate all the plugins the Visual Composer works fine and allows me to create a new page?
So there must be a problem with the Total Theme? Please help
Hum, that’s really strange, of course it should all be working just fine. Are you able to check your browser console and see if there are any javascript errors?
Also some servers may need an increase in the PHP memory limit and that could potentially also cause the issue described – http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP
If you can’t locate the issue, please send me temp WP and FTP logins so I can have a look and help troubleshoot the issue.

Yes, but as mentioned on the changelog – http://www.wpexplorer.com/changelogs/total/ – I found a fairly big flaw in that update so I haven’t updated it yet (waiting for the developer to fix it).
Unlike other developers I fully test the versions before sending them out to you because I want to make sure you won’t have any major problems.

Hi Grant,
WooCommerce is completely separate. I don’t make ANY tweaks to the included plugins, anything I do is done on the theme-side so you can always update the plugin normally.

Looking at your Parallax backgrounds page on my ipad2 with the latest version of iOS 7 the page is a mess with things cut off and lots of black space. Are you aware of that?

That said, I am working on a big update to the Parallax backgrounds in an effort to make them even better! Probably not for the upcoming 1.6.0 because there is a lot going in there, but for sure for 1.6.1

Update for all people wondering why the ‘Page Settings’ are NOT visible…
Okay when you have a coming soon plugin like ‘Ultimate Coming Soon Page’ by Seedprod – the Page Settings WON’T be visible!
I spend HOURS working this out… I had to disable the plugin then the page settings magically appeared. I hope this helps someone too : )
That is very strange! Are you sure it doesn’t just hide them and you can display them by enabling them in the “Screen Options” tab?
I am actually doing a MASSIVE overhaul of the meta-options (page settings) so I will do some extra testing to make sure this doesn’t happen, thanks for the heads up!

Suggestion: To include pages into the footer (using widgets) you have EXCLUDE pages with page ID’s you don’t want appearing.
Wouldn’t it be better if you entered the page ID’s of the pages you want to INCLUDE.
I’ve just created a few more pages and they appear in the footer also. So you have to remember to exclude them in the footer also. Tedious!!

The pages widget is a default Widget included in WordPress, it is 100% outside the scope of the theme. And yes I totally agree with you and WordPress should add in an include field as well…but there is a much easier solution.
- Create a new menu at Appearance->Menus
- Use the “Total Simple Custom Menu” widget to display your menu in a widgetized area

I would like to use a full-width layout across my site (www.thecarexpert.co.uk) to take advantage of the Total theme, but for some reason I simply cannot get this to work responsively on an iPhone (don’t know about other phones, I don’t have them!). Works fine and looks great on desktop and OK on tablet (I think I need to play with padding but otherwise OK), so it’s just phone settings.
My work-in-progress new homepage is www.thecarexpert.co.uk/22-2, based on Total homepage 22 as a starting point. When I look at Total homepage 22, it scales responsively and perfectly but my page doesn’t. I assume that it’s something very simple and as usual I’m missing something incredibly obvious…

Avoid adding left-right padding to rows to center elements this will cause issues because that code is inline so it will override anything in the responsive stylesheet.

I had watched your video and read the FAQs, but I am unable to get full-screen pages to display correctly on a phone. Headers, content body, footers, etc. all refuse to display responsively on phones but work fine on tablet or desktop browsers.
I’m not that fussed about making all pages full-screen, but any page that I try to make full-screen will not display correctly on phones.
If I have a row that consists of a single column and I don’t check the box that says ‘centre all content’, it displays OK on a phone. But multiple columns or checking that box will ruin it, and headers & footers won’t display correctly regardless.
PS – on an entirely unrelated subject, some users were finding that the front end of the Visual Composer wasn’t working and they could only see a blank screen with the visual composer logo. I had the same issue, seems to have been the Ajax Thumbnail rebuild plugin. Hope it helps others!
You just need to make sure you don’t add left/right padding to those full-screen rows because it will cause the issue and use that center row option mentioned above to keep the content centered.
There shouldn’t be any issues when there are multiple columns as you can see from my live demo, for example on this page -> http://totaltheme.wpengine.com/agent/
If you do please make a new blank page with a single row and some columns and send me the URL so I can have a look, it would probably just be some CSS somewhere causing the issue.
Thanks for letting me know about your findings with the Thumbnail rebuild plugin. Unfortunately a lot of plugins break it, the Visual Composer requires 0 errors in the code otherwise it breaks. Unfortunately many plugins, especially free ones, have errors
I’m not using any padding. Have tried several posts and pages, and get the same result each time. If I don’t click the checkbox i can make it look ok with a single column, although header/footer still don’t behave. But if I click on the center content checkbox it all goes bad.
Have created this page: http://www.thecarexpert.co.uk/testing-full-width/. Although it’s blank, on a phone I can see that the header and footer are not working properly.
It’s not urgent, I know you have 1.6.0 to get out which is very important to us all!

It looks like you have edited the responsive sizes (Theme Options -> Responsive). The defaults use percentages so that there will always be a padding: http://cl.ly/image/290y170v3V2n

You mentioned some CSS in a child theme to make all pages full-screen (note to self: get a child theme!). But if I do this, or change the settings via Theme Options, won’t I have to go into every single page and set every single row to centre the content?
It’s not custom CSS but rather a PHP function you can use in your child theme.
Yes that would require to go through and add the container to center the content (unless you add some custom CSS to do so automatically).
Generally you wouldn’t set every page to full-screen though…I mean how many pages does your site really need with full-screen background rows?

Sorry AJ, another couple of questions regarding full-screen settings that I have been unable to find answers for (I do try to work it out myself before running to you for help every time!):
When I set the content layout to full-screen, I lose all the comments and the ‘related posts’ features. Also the author bio and WP/Jetpack sharing buttons don’t centre like all the content rows, so they align themselves right over on the left of the screen. This applies to all screen formats (desktop, tablet, phone).

I have an issue with the Visual Composer Custom Heading. It doesn’t load any google fonts. That’s weird because it works fine on my other websites which are running the same version of the plugin (VC 4.3.2 – Wp 4.0)
I’m a little afraid by updating the plugin using your method (I saw your video on youtube) because I can’t add a new plugin directly in wordpress. When I want to add a new plugin, I have to upload it with ftp.
Any help would be much appreciated^^

Hi WPExplorer Team, I think, there are some calculation errors in the ie8 CSS file. Cause you have 1.6% on margin left, but the column subtraction are wrong. This values seems to be better in ie8, showing the boxes in one row correctly:

Are you using the latest version of the theme? Because everything has been updating to not use margins any more (due to changes in the Visual Composer) now all columns use paddings with box-sizing set to border-box and then left/right paddings for the spacing and negative margins around the main wrapper.
