Hmmm you can but it requires custom CSS as we do not like to modify core features of Woo. those are there by default. But you can target them with display: none css and it should hide them.

thanks, I tried to add the media.css to the child theme, but this can’t overwrite the media.css of the parent. how can I do? I would like to write all the stuff in the child theme so I can update the parent theme with the last releases.

1. Yes you can turn audio off for any slider that offers video integration.

2. We also have soundcloud shortcode element to insert audio on any page or post, and it has various settings for color change, autoplay, controls, etc.

Outside of that you could use an audio player plugin of your choice.

Moving from one theme to the next is easy to do, however depending on how the previous theme setup custom content (like shortcodes, posts, etc) it may require rebuilding of content. Our theme will not pick up their shortcodes, stuff like that.

Yes we will continue to update the theme. We’ve been #1 for over 2 years and have no plans of letting that fail

Social icons are still in the theme, hmmm we’d need to see your setup to figure out what is wrong.

Both of these items could just be cache, make sure to clear server/plugin cache and browser cache.

For featured images, check the settings in the post options and also theme options to make sure they are set to show.

Thanks for the comments! It canbe done wioth polyang but we do not have a tutorial for that, I woudl recommend searching on our forum, I’m pretty sure this has been brought up before. We use WPML which gives an option to select where it goes. There might be some code editing involved for polyang.

Boxed or wide can be chosen globally in theme options, or individually per page or post. So open up that one page or post that is showing boxed and check the page option to see what it says. It might be set to boxed.

Each page you create that is a portfolio template has an option in the page options to select which categories show on that page. So you need to edit each page, and only select the categories that you want to show on those pages.

Hmmm well blog or portfolios have categories because they are posts. Pages themselves cannot have categories in any theme, but what you are asking can be done with regular pages. You can create a parent page, then have child pages for it that are easily viewed from the menu. So it can be done, it is just different terminology I think.

Yes, I think you are correct. If I can do parent with child pages that may work. Is there a limit on how many levels there can be? For example the mega menu: 1st parent page= Communities, expands to show Gulf front, Bay front. Each of those expand individually to show list of Gulf front communities and Bay front communities. If you understand what I am trying to communicate, can Avada accomplish this out of the box?

Yes that is 3 levels I believe. The menu dropdowns can take up to 5 levels, megamenu I think is 3 or maybe 4. But with megamenu, you do not need as many levels usually. The regular dropdown can take more.

Avada does support Chinese Simplified, as well as any other language.

The theme can be translated into any language using our translation files. We include over 27 languages already translated that were submitted by our users, and more are added with each update.

Yes it must be translated first. You mentioned that the other theme supports it, and so does Avada. We just do not have it already translated, but you can easily do so if you know how to speak the language.

1. Which specific 3D images are you referring to? The sliders you see though can easily be used and change out the images.

2. The videos will load by default as browser loads, there are not placeholders, but that is something you could add with code customizations.

The theme requires our Fusion Core plugin, which you will be prompted to install after the theme installs. We also include Rev and Layer slider plugins but those are not required, you can choose to use them or not.

You can use a custom social icon with any custom URL as well.

You originally made a comment saying that you were afraid that all of Avada’s files would make it hard to make custom code edits. That is not necessarily true, and that is what I was replying to you. I’m not sure how that could reduce your confidence in what we are concerned about. We are developers, and at least half of our user base are developers, we are of course concerned with what a developer would be concerned of.

I’m trying to gauge how I can answer your question differently. As you know, its difficult to answer all the details about a customization until you start doing it yourself and digging through what would need changed.

I want to understand the trade-off between the amount of effort saved, and the extra complexity of doing the tweaks listed due to Avada’s complexity.

Unfortunately its difficult to look at your list and give you exact details on it. Custom work can be done to the theme, the level of complexity and trade off will depend on how you do it and what exactly needs done. Some of that cannot be known until the change is started, so I do not want to say one thing then have it be different later on.

The changes you listed for WooCommerce are not dependent on Avada or our files, you will be modifying the woo plugin files, you could check those out now since it is a free plugin.

My header needs a row of fixed content (social links, logo, phone), with the menu below, and my footer needs a 3 by 3 block of widgets – twitter, gallery latest, facebook, WP blog posts, and some fixed content.

I don’t see any reason that custom work would need done with what you listed for footer or header, it could be done purely with our options as long as you like how the header designs are set. If you need social links, logo, phone # all in one row outside of the top header bar, then that will take custom work. But you could use one of our normal header layouts and have all of those things.

Hi that’s much more reassuring thanks. My confidence dropped because I was hoping for a nuanced answer, and your first reply seemed written with limited technical consideration, so felt like a glib sales response. It is unfortunate there are no places for detailed, neutral information pre-purchase. Your second reply shows you have read my requirements and thought of them in terms of the theme code, and the customizations will not be enormous. This has convinced me that adapting Avada to a pre-existing design is not lunacy, so I’ll give Avada a go.
