Hi, When trying to activate the theme, the pages is blank and we have a 500 error, with 2 errors in the Apache logs: “Options FollowSymLinks or SymLinksIfOwnerMatch is off which implies that RewriteRule directive is forbidden”

And “PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function redux_post_meta() in xxxxxxxxxxxxx/wp-content/themes/knowledgepress/lib/functions-core.php on line 173”

I cannot got dropdowns in the menu to work for the life of me. I haven’t modified anything or any files this is a fresh uploaded after importing your example data. Have you come across this before? I have tried with 4.1 and 3.8 for testing this issue. Thoughts? Is this common? have you seen it before? Thanks!

Hi, thank you for your interest. The home page live search is a widget (sidebar) so if your plugin has a widget it should work but I can’t guarantee third party product. We have also a live search option on the main navigation but your plugin is unlikely to integrate there. Regards, Ivan

Hi, before purchasing I would like to know how the information is treated with your template. Are there any kind of KMS functionalities to list/edit/insert/delete each item or are should I write them directly in the Wordpress code? Or are the items taken directly from a DB (i.e. MySQL)? Thank you.

Hi Ivan, thanks for your reply the problem is that I followed your instructions and now that I imported then exported all the hierachy I created for the categories & subcategories of post are set on one level instead of 2. it took me some hours to organize this hierarchy now I have to redo it all from scratch

Hi, there is some major misunderstanding here:

You initial query was about styling issue (CSS), plus keeping the same CSS styles when moving site (in your email), so I advised to export/import Theme Options Settings.

In your last reply you talking about importing/exporting posts and categories (content)... a completely different thing. Importing content (post / categories) is a simple process using XML file, unrelated to the theme or styling issue.

The customiser issue is bit more complex so no it wont be done today (no ETA), the customiser setting can be all set without using customiser.

Do you have any advice for creating a proper wiki using your theme, particularly enabling users to edit/create content? (plugins your theme is compatible with etc) thanks a lot

Hi, we are looking at Knowledgebase themes and had some questions about the functionality of this one.

- Can you “pin” articles so they are always on top of the listing in a category? And/or can you manually sort the order of articles in a category?

- Can you require some articles to only be accessed if you are a registered user? Or at least just make everyone register before they can view any articles?

- Is there a print to pdf (or print friendly) option for articles, or how would you suggest to easily add this?

- Can you create custom fields to display within the article? For instance, we’d like to be able to put something like “Platform: Mac, PC, Linux”, “Software Requirements: RAM, CPU, OS version, etc etc” so that we can display in a block below the article.

- Along the same lines, can it allow attachments in articles, so we could have something like “Download version v1.16 update” or “Download User Manual” and have it link to a file we upload?

All those seem typical in support tools on sites, especially for a software or hardware tech company, so hopefully there’s ways to do it. Thanks! Rich

How do i change the size of the logo?

Hi Use the browser inspector to identify CSS classes and override then by adding custom CSS to theme options page. You can decrease logo padding as required and then upload larger logo. Please note the above is just a pointer as we dont provide customisation as part of support. Regards, Ivan

I just thought you would have offered the option to increase logo as part of the theme (everybody else does).

1. Is KnowledgePress2 compatible with Wordpress 4.0.1?

2. Is KnowledgePress2 compatible with MultilingualPressPro on a network site with two or more sites?

3. Is the Live Search feature part of the theme? Or is it a Wordpress standard feature? (I’m new to Wordpress.)

4. Is there a way to teach Live Search synonyms. For instance, teach it is that when someone searches “pet” it should show suggestions related to “cats” and “dogs”?

5. This is related to question #3. Can one use WP Google Search (Version 1.0.2 | By WebshopLogic) in place of whatever the default search tool is?

I just bought and installed into my network theme folder. Then I made it my active theme. When I visit the site, I get this error message: Fatal error: Call to undefined function redux_post_meta() in /home/cote/public_html/wp-content/themes/knowledgepress/lib/functions-core.php on line 173

UPDATE: There were some additional plugins that needed to be added. I followed Wordpress instructions and now it works.

I get following error: “The following file does not exist and must be so in order to utilise this theme. Please create this file. Try visiting the theme options and clicking the “Reset All” button to attempt automatically creating it. /var/www/content/uploads/sites/43/ss-style_id-43.css”

I use multisite and have changed ‘wp-content’ to ‘content’. I tried “Reset All”, but it doesn’t work.

Theme is working, but I think it’s missing some bits of css here and there.

Hi, the change of ‘wp-content’ shouldnt be an issue, go to Theme Options >> Colors, change primary color and save, that should generate the file.

Hi This is a very nice theme. I have some observations and presales Qs.

I noticed some pages break on iPhone portrait. It seems some child divs are not scaling correctly and breaking the width. The short codes and video examples show this well. Please note this is viewed on actual iPhone and not responsive preview dev tool so please check with real hardware.

Q1. Assuming this is a minor CSS bug will you be fixing it?

Q2. I noticed you have Knowledge Base, Knowledge Base 2, Knowledge Base 3 in the main menu. I’m assuming you are using same mindset as your Document plugin and creating parent and sub categories to group related topics together. I need to be able to have the following nested hierarchy… example:-
Shop
- payment
- shipping
- etc…
Account
- Forgot Password
- Forgot Username
- etc…
Product Support
- Brand X
- – Product A
- – - How to open box
- – - Give box to cat
- – - Put batteries in
- – - Troubleshooting
- – Product B
- – - Inflate the ballon
- – - Turn on laser
- – - Etc…
- Brand Y
- – Product K
- – - How to press the button
- – - Other use of button
- – - If your dog is deaf
etc

Is this possible or is there a limit to nesting?
Q3. If possible as per above example does the front end render show the hierarchy well?
Q4. I’m assuming you are using custom post types?
Q5. How well does your document plugin integrate? Could I create a simpler hierarchy as above but like this:-
Brand X
- Product A – Document Category=1
- Product B – Document Category=9
Brand Y
- Product K – Document Category=16
etc…

Q6. How about the built in FAQ integration? Could I do this:-
Shop (knowledge base)
– payment FAQ
– shipping FAQ
– account FAQ

Hi, i need some help with the translation files. I follow all intructions and when try to save the file to pt_PT.po (portuguese) the poedit give me some header errors and one translation issue. In front-end don´t assume the translation changes…
