You can either update by downloading the theme again from themeforest and reuploading it to your server via the wp admin dashboard in Appearance > themes or by using FTP to delete your current theme and replace it with the latest version. Alternatively you could use the Envato plugin http://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/how-to-update-themeforest-themes-with-the-envato-wordpress-toolkit/

I’m really liking this theme and am taking my time learning the in’s and out’s of it while I make my site.
my question is I have a full width background row that has an infographic as the background. I made the row a 2/3 +1/3 split and made the 1/3 column my text for the info graphic. The problem is I need that column to be responsive but since the first 2/3 column is blank, it doesn’t move under the infographic when sizing down.
Do I need to create some blank space in the empty column before it will be responsive?

if you can get away with using a full width content row type instead with the option enabled to ensure all columns are equal height this will happen naturally. The alternative would indeed be to either use a divider in that column with a fixed height or use css to give the column height on the mobile display

Hi nectar, I’ve a big problem with theme. I try to create a nectar slider to replace the home slider. In the same time I’ve accidentally deleted the page HOME, I restore it but now when I enter the website the homepage is different: displays the blog page, while the blog page (by clicking it) is empty. How can I fix?

In the Nectar slider, is it possible to add the caption background to both the Heading and Caption as one whole boxed, semi-transparent background, instead of having just the caption with the background or having the caption and the Heading each with their own separate background?

That works perfectly for adding a background to the Heading in the slider! Thanks! Is it possible, however, to somehow make it so that there is no separation in the background between the the Heading and the caption? Such that it is just one complete background for both?

I have a serious problem with setting up nectar sliders to match Retina Resolutions (5k or 4k). I load images with 4000 px width and all seems to be allright (Desktop), but iPad Retina doesn’t show the pics. I’ve tested along with other pics and it seems that a wider resolution than 2000 px will not be displayed in Safari on iPad Retina. I’ve been testing background pics with 3000 px and they also won’t be displayed at all (So the truth is after having googled the problem that NO larger images than 2000 px will be displayed – that is in fact is a restriction of iPAD Retina).
So how can I satisfy 5k Retina iMAC Display Resolutions? It could be extremly useful if there would be an opinion to load high AND low resolution pics (like the logo and logo retina) on nectar sliders. F.e. a pic up to 2000 px Monitor resolution and one pic for Hi DPI Monitors. A Media Query would be necessary and a retina.js too. But I think that’s future and maybe the 6k Displays is on the way … This would be also a great feature for every pic placed into a page (You give the choice to define a resolution if you place a gallery/slider – so it would be great if you are able to define two – one retina and one “normal” res.)
So is it possible to implementate this feature in the next release? 2000 px slider pics doens’t look great on 5k iMacs
What do you think about it and is there a workaround now?

Hey Markus,
By default mobile devices in the default browser might have issues loading an image that big but the workaround for now wold require some custom development (switching image sizes which are loaded for each device) This idea to implement a retina workaround to satisfy desktop and mobile is already on the wishlist to avoid having to use a plugin.

1. It’s a string in your .po file that you can edit in the same way as any other string, but if you want to mod it directly check out the comment.php file in your Salient theme directory
2. Please check out the appearance > widgets section of your admin panel

Unfortunately I am totally swamped with work to the point where I can’t accept any freelance gigs – but if you need modifications done you could head on over to Envato Studio for customization gigs
How do you override styles? I am using child theme and sometimes styles come but it seems others are being pre-empted by javascript. For example, the height of the menu bar. There is too much top/bottom padding on the logo, so the distance from the main nav to the drop downs is too far. I would like to correct this but I cannot seem to do this via the style sheets. Great theme overall but it would help if one could do more with the child theme to customize.

How do I find / change that font in the salient control panel within the wordpress admin area? Is it under “Typography”? For example, I see Body, Navigation, Navigation Dropdown, Necta Slider Heder, etc. Is it in that list?

Thanks. I’ve tried changing the font and the font size for “Heading 3” (which I’m assuming is what you meant by “h3”), but I don’t see the fonts on top of the portfolio rollover changing.

I am getting an “Item not updated” message when I click submit after I go to Portfolio > Project Categories > Click Category Name and edit the SEO Title under Yoast WordPress SEO Settings.
