My question concerns the capabilities of listify for custom icons for the marker on the google map. I don’t want to use the ion icons, i have created my own. Is it possible to use my own icons?

You can find your purchase code on your ThemeForest downloads page. Head over to that page, find Listify in your list of purchases, and click on the download link. You should see an option to only download the License certificate and purchase code.

Hi Listify Team, 1) Seems like the latest release (1.0.1.3) doesn’t display addresses on the search results pages (although it displays them on the actual listing page). Of course I verified that there’s data both in the ‘Location’ field and the subsequently generated geolocation custom fields. Can you help me out with some pre-sale info?
Is it possible to give someone a free basic listing (input name and address ) but charge them to access the dashboard at a later time? For example, if I use All Import to add basic listing data, can I still put up a package of options and charge people to access and manage their accounts?
I have a ton of categories, sub-categories and I’m trying to figure out how I’d organize it for this theme. For the sake of widget functionality, do you recommend inputing sub-categories as a categories? I want to avoid duplicate content in the widget area. I need the tags for other descriptions.
Can you only input tags on pages and posts?
Looking at the Search Your City section on the demo. Is there a way to control which or how many categories appear in the drop down? Also, does it automatically identify where a person is and show listings nearby?
One more- do you plan to issue automatic theme updates? I don’t see a theme version listed where you indicate an update was done so it seems sort of hard to keep track. Plus, I’m afraid of disabling the theme if it’s got a lot of listings on it.
Sorry for the questions and thanks for answering. If I take this on it will be a huge project so I want to make sure I understand it.

First, thanks for the kind words! I’ll answer your questions in order:
1) Yes, this is possible. You’d have to import all of the listings yourself, then set up your listing packages. Then, once a user pays and wants access, you can change the “Posted by” information in the Listing Data (on that person’s listing) to them. 2) Well, we have a few things in the theme to help organize your categories.
First, the top level is what we refer to as Listing Types: http://listify.astoundify.com/article/235-manage-listing-types
Then, we consider Listing Categories to be the second level of organization: http://listify.astoundify.com/article/244-manage-listing-categories
Finally, the last level of organization is what we call Tags/Amenities: http://listify.astoundify.com/article/303-manage-listing-tags-ammenities

3) Standard WP tags are only used on pages and posts, yes. For Listings, we use the Listing Tags. See this article (also linked above): http://listify.astoundify.com/article/303-manage-listing-tags-ammenities
4) The categories in the drop down will pull whatever Listing Categories that you have set up. http://listify.astoundify.com/article/244-manage-listing-categories
5) We are constantly updating Listify, multiple times per week sometimes. You can see the full changelog on the Listify ThemeForest page. Once you purchase, you can click to be notified via email when we push out an update (from your TF downloads page). Every release will include a changelog text file that you can view to learn about what was updated.

Thanks for answering. All of the answers make sense except #2. I’ve read your links and the comments and questions in this forum.
It seems like you have to choose between Listing Types and Listing Categories. It also seems like Listing Tags are something you buy from WP Job Manager (which is fine) but they don’t seem to help with the taxonomy in the drop down menu on the homepage.
On the demo, in the homepage drop down you have
Arts & Entertainment and then indented under it “Nightclubs”
How did you achieve this main heading/ sub heading structure on the demo?
If I buy this I’ll have a lot to organize so I need to make sure what I’m trying to do is possible. Thanks.

Sorry for the confusion. You don’t need to choose between Types and Categories necessarily. Types would be “Restaurants” and then the Categories would be “Japanese”, “Mexican”, “Tapas”, etc.

You can set up children categories to get a little more specific.
And yes, tags aren’t part of the drop down taxonomy.

I see. Thanks for the info. I like the parent/child category idea. But if I do that and then set up a widget on the home page, won’t it force the parent into the widget along with the child? Meaning, if I want the widget to only show coffee, tea and donuts, it won’t work because the parent ‘Food” will also display in the widget. My guess is there’s no way to separate the parent and child categories in the widget, right?
I have one last question. I see you recommend ‘Restrict Content Pro’ and ‘Woo Commerce Subscriptions’ for people who want subscribers. They seem as if they do the same thing but I want to be sure. Do you need both or only one of them? I appreciate your help. Thanks.
It will only show coffee, tea and donuts, if those are selected, if food is not selected even though it’s the parent, it will not show.
I would recommend using WooCommerce Subscriptions to get the best results, and the same as our demo. You do not need both plugins.

Here are my questions.
A. Would I have to do this in this exact order? I expect to receive spread sheets of data over a period of time and would like to add the data when it arrives. For example, could I add some listings with WP Import, add packages and charge people then in another month repeat the process? That is, can I import the spread sheet data over time or does it have to be done in one go?
B. I would only want paid members to have accounts and add listings. Is that something I could work out with Woo Commerce Subscriptions?

A: You can import the listings and then over time people who own those businesses can claim ownership and setup a recurring payment to list on your website. I doesn’t need to happen all at once.
B: You can disable account creation, and the only way a user can create an account is if they pay to list on your site. This would require the WC Paid Listings plugin.

For the search results, have the results sortable by, alphabet, rating or favorites
When someone is signed into the site, have the “Sign In” button read “Sign Out”

@ogcprod You now need to go into Settings > Reading and set the Front Page Displays option to Static Page and select the page you want as your Home Page ( Search Your City for like demo). You will also have to go to Appearance > Menus and set your menus using the Manage Locations tab to look like demo.

1. Based on your demo, it looks like the only way to register is with a social account. Is there a way to register the old fashion way in addition to the social option?
2. I can’t seem to see any areas for banner ads. Can these be added anywhere?
3. How flexible is the theme as far as customizations to the listing submissions?
4. On the ‘add a listing’ page, can the fields that I don’t need (eg. Open Table, Resurva etc.) be removed?

Hey Adam, would be super amazing if the Mega Menu would work on more than just the top level menu items! I would prefer to set this up on multiple top level items (custom choice in Menus) and only show the sub-menu items in the mega menu layout – is this possible at all?
In the future you will be able to use the mega menu to display any type of menu items, not just the listing categories, we plan to bring this feature to the Listify theme in a future update.

I’m really interested in your theme, but i need your reply to the following questions asked by other customers.

Honestly, I have a simple CSV file which contains complete geo-location (each individual piece of data in each column) but after trying some 40 upload variations & combinations, data is never displayed correctly.
This part of a directory should not be so complicated.
I know you’ll write back telling me to “contact support” – but I’m contacting you here because I don’t feel you’re treating these requests with relevant importance.
This was already fixed in version 1.0.1.3: January 7, 2014 of the Listify theme so this is no longer an issue.
There aren’t any issues with removing the auto formatting in the theme. If you remove them they will be output exactly as they were entered in the location field.

Hi… my names sean, my friend let me play with a version of this theme just to mess around with to see if I liked it…......
I love it, it is absolutely perfect. Now I saved my Wp-content folder with 100+ hours spent on it. I love it but if type in my zip code into the home page it redirects me to a page of empty results until I select with box for 50 mile radius then my area appears.
I will gladly purchase the theme if it will be possible to fix that, It seems I have tried everything with no success much love from a freelance web dude in california <3
Problem solved. I just paid for it. Deleted the old theme and reinstalled the new one. worked like a charm…
