hi nectar, can we make/export an HTML version out of salient’s OnePage ?

Hey – yes you can so as long as you use it within the same guidelines as you would use the WP theme

Hello,

Is there a way to turn the project attributes on the portfolio side bar into links similar to tags in blogs? If it can’t be clickable, then at least are we able to make them into a live URL using this “slug” inside dashboard > Portfolio > Project Attributes?

Keep up the amazing template. We love it! :)

- Sheena

Hey Sheena, this would take a mod to the single-project.php file located in your theme directory – search for

$project_attrs
to end up at the right section :)

Hi there, I was able to find this in single-portfolio.php but I am still unsure how to mod it to become a link so that if I click on one project attribute, lets say logos—it would show all the portfolio items that are logos. Similar to blog’s link category.

I created a child theme and copy over the single-portfolio.php folder and left the $project_attrs code in it:

<?php $project_attrs = get_the_terms( $post->ID, ‘project-attributes’ ); if (!empty($project_attrs)){ ?>
    <?php foreach($project_attrs as $attr){ echo ‘
  • ’ . $attr->name . ‘
  • ’; } ?>
<?php } ?>

Hope you can help me figure this out. And of course, your theme is super awesome! Thanks.

(sorry for some reason I am having trouble showing the codes here)

Hi, I want to follow up and see if you got my pervious comment on attribute being clickable on portfolio. Wondering if you can provide the CSS code for that? Thanks!

Hey guys!

Just wanted to say I love the theme. Have used it on quite a few sites and they’ve been a hit.

Looking to implement the theme on the WordPress site here: http://fantasyfootballpros.org/

However, because of the nature of the site and industry they want to keep the homepage in a similar layout that is there now.

Is something like this layout possible with Salient, are there plugins or something else you’d recommend I can use in conjunction with Salient to get that effect?

Love the theme and I think it can improve the site immensely. Just need to get the homepage blog section figured out in a similar manner. People don’t want to have to search for their news and they want it to be visually appealing.

Thanks for the help and keep up the great work!

Nick

Hey Nick,

Unfortunately there are no blog styles like that yet so it would most likely take some custom development – but new ones will be coming in future releases!

Cheers

Hi

When set to be a responsive design – on medium size screens is it possible to make the portfolio two items wide, instead of one item wide?

Thanks

George

Hey – add this into the custom css box located in your Salient Options panel:

@media only screen and (max-width:1000px) and (min-width:690px) {
html body .default-style .portfolio-items .col.elastic-portfolio-item {
    margin: 1% !important;
    width: 48% !important;
}
}

Thanks very much for this! Worked perfectly :)

You’re welcome :)

Hi Bud,

Happy New Year! :-)

Any idea when you might add in image captions for the lightbox images, it’s really the missing bit of my website now?

Cheers Rich

Hey Rich, the next update will include an option for it :)

Hi thanks for the great theme, Just one quick question, I’d like to have the home slider without the parallax style and have it stuck and not resize when scrolling down. Is that possible? Many thanks, David

Hey,

If you switch to the Nectar Slider and unassign your Home Slider there’s an option to disable the parallax effect :)

Cheers

Hey! Do you reckon you could assist with some custom CSS :)?

Basically I have full content, full width rows with a parallax image as the background image. I’d like to use a grid overlay over the top of these images.

Any chance you’d have the answer? :)

Joe

Hey,

Add this into the custom css box located in your Salient Options panel:

.row-bg-wrap:after {
    background-image: url("http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-frostwave/wp-content/themes/salient/img/textures/grid.png");
    content: " ";
    display: block;
    height: 100%;
    left: 0;
    position: absolute;
    top: 0;
    width: 100%;
    z-index: 1;
}

Cheers

Hi ThemeNectar,

before I order Your awesome looking Template, I ´ve got 3 questions:

1. Do the template support “schema.org Breadcrumbs” ? So that the breadcrumb will be displayed in the serp´s on google?

2. Do you have the complete “Dummy Data” of the Demo “Modern Creative” ?

3. Do you offer customisation services? (payed)

Many thanks in advance.

I´m looking forward to hearing soon from you.

Greetings from Germany.

Hey!

1. That would require the use of a plugin

2. Yes, dummy data sets for all the demos are included

3. Unfortunately I am totally swamped with work to the point where I can’t accept any freelance gigs – but if you need modifications done you could head on over to Envato Studio which is a service that offers paid WordPress customizations. :)

Hi there, I was wondering if there are any plans to introduce full-width vimeo embeds into the nectar slider? It’d be a great addition to be able to rotate between different vimeo vids.

Hey nealcoghlan,

It’s an idea that’s on the wishlist :)

Cheers

Is there an issue with /wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js?ver=1.11.1 ?

Cause I was trying to load a code but kept getting a function error. Then I added <script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.11.2/jquery.min.js"></script> in the footer and it worked… Perhaps all javascript should be loaded from Google.

Hey luxerman, Salient isn’t loading that directly – it’s handled in the WP core

Hi,

Just throwing out the idea for the theme to have an undergoing maintenance page. So you can select a page that will contain the content for it, and it would also disable the functionality to load any other page and re-direct back to the maintenance page. Just an idea, or do you know of a good plugin that does this?

Cheers,

Paul

Hey Paul,

This plugin should suffice for that https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-maintenance-mode/ :)

Hi, I would like to know/see all the features in the Nectar admin panel. Could you provide access or screenshots?

Will this theme work with a multisite install?

Hey clustr, yes it will :)

Hi Guys!

Happy New Year :)

I have a question related to the images. I cannot upload any. It used to work like charm, but not any more. When I try to upload an image, the site creates multiple copies of the image, in fact hundreds of them, without showing the true image, and notifies of an error occuring during the upload process. I have the current Wordpress, Woocommerce and theme files.

I am sorry for the trouble, but can you help? what should be done?

Thanks Martyna

Hey Martyna,

It sounds like it could be a server issue but have you tried to switch themes for a minute to see if it fixes the issue?

Cheers

I’ve this alignment problem on a section of this page: http://thalassacoutinho.com.br/#expertise The thing is that I’ve different settings for the alingment of the green icons (workblog is set to align left, and the hand shake is set to align center) and yet they are centered. That is just a setting I did to prove that I can’t get those to align left at all… They won’t obey the setting. What could possibly be wrong? http://thalassacoutinho.com.br/wp-admin user: guest pw: guestuser thanks!

Hey – Add this into the custom css box in the Salient options panel:

img.img-with-animation[data-animation="fade-in-from-left"], img.img-with-animation[data-animation="fade-in-from-right"] {
 margin: 0!important;
}

Although this is a wonderful and powerful theme (and we are enjoying using it) there are VERY SERIOUS ISSUES – - when using a video as a background – - in one of the panels / sections. We used one of the background videos in the demo (all three video formats). The performance is incredibly poor and our 1mb page that contains ONLY the one panel cannot even be loaded on iPads. The Salient demo (33mb) also has very serious issues (especially, no animation) loading on iPads and Sony tablets, iPhones and Blackberry phones (that’s all we’ve tested so far). There are serious issues as well on PC/Safari.

We have visited Theme Nectar’s support system on ticksy and searched for an answer. There are several, similar reports. The author’s advice is always to install additional plugins for caching and minifying but with no advice on how to configure the overwhelming amount of options. When I addressed this with a support ticket on ticksy (5 days ago) the reply (2 days later) was to hire an expert to increase the performance of the page (this is suggested in other support posts as well).

This type of customer service and support is not acceptable. I am a freelancer and I have recommended this theme quite a few times now. Unless the poor performance and support is addressed I will no longer recommend it.

Hey Boonee,

Video backgrounds are not used on mobile devices and are instead swapped for your supplied preview image as explained here: http://youtu.be/FLU9Pxo_RD8?t=6m35s The demo should behave in a similar manner. If you can let me know your ticket ID # I’d be glad to take a look to see what Safari issues you’re referring to

Cheers

Thank you for your reply.

I do not consider a Sony tablet nor an iPad to be a mobile device. The video on your Salient demo does not load. Your demo site just does not function properly on an iPad.

We have uploaded the image (for swapping) but the background on my Blackberry is blank.

Our ticket ID# is 343986

Shannon

Hey Shannon, I replied to your ticket in regards :)

Hey Nectar! I love your theme, i purchased it from my office account. Recently i noticed a small problem with your code in the way you make it “retina ready”. Take for instance the header logo, you ask for two images in the admin panel, the original and the 2x, then you put both in the code and hide one with css. The problem with this approach is that the browser will download all the images regardless of the style, so if you have an original of 20k an a 2x of 40k, no mathers what you see, you downloaded 60k. :confusedsad: If we take in count the light, dark and small, every one in original an 2x you are downloading 6 images just to display one. I usually work whit foundation and use interchange but you can found other aproches in css-tricks.com

Hey aaron_cardenas,

Thanks for the recommendation – i’ve noted to look further into the interchange solution

Cheers

does the new updates show latest products/best sellers/top rated/on sale ect.. and can be assigned to different categories? something like the neighborhood wordpress theme?

Hey – yes, there’s a new WooCommerce visual composer element that allows you place products based on the categories and various types such as on sale etc

Cheers

HI,

How would I go about changing the default spacing between the portfolio top and bottom and on the video embed?

Many Thanks,

Sean

Hey Sean!

Could you share a page URL in regards so I can see the current setup?

Cheers

I’m having trouble controlling the colors of specific columns (as shown in link below)

http://themeforest.net/item/salient-responsive-multipurpose-theme/full_screen_preview/4363266

Can you instruct me on how to do this? Thanks!
