Hello. Am I able to import content and configurations from an Osmosis instalation I have using the import tool from Osmosis? Just like the Osmosis Demo Data Importer imports content from Demo site. If no. Do you have any plans to add this function? If an import demo goes wrong, I have to delete all my wordpress and database instalation, to import again? I left it importing and it went 120min without changes in the screen, if possible it would be nice to have a progress bar in this screen so we could know when something goes wrong. With the OSMOSIS importer you can import both content and theme options as well as widgets from any OSMOSIS demo or even separately. The process usually takes less than 30 secs; it has been tested. We have not encountered any problem with regards this process. We’d appreciate it though if you could open a ticket in the Support Forum where you could give more details (URL, wp-login info) and clarify what exactly you need.

Does this theme use the latest version of Visual Composer with all features? I have found some themes (salient for example) has an old crippled version of the visual composer.

To be honest, Osmosis has not been tested with the Polylang plugin so we aren’t sure if there will be compatibility issues. Certainly, the whole content of Osmosis is translatable (po & mo files). Last but not least, Osmosis is fully compatible with the WPML Multilingual Plugin.

Osmosis provides 4 different blog styles: Large Media, Small Media, Classic Grid and Masonry. Create a page, select the Blog element from the builder, define your preferences and publish it! In the case that you set a static page as your blog page via Settings > Reading, you can only have the Large Media style. Hope this is helpful!

hi, Osmosis looks like a really great theme. I was about to buy another theme until I learned about Osmosis just today.
You say one can build anything, so my questions/comments are:
1) I want to build, initially, an international Classified Ads portal, where I will have sections for Real Estate, Automotive Sales, Directory Listings, Travel Stuff, etc. Will I be able to create drop-down custom fields for each category that I build, and also for each sub-category created for each category, etc. down the line – for example, let’s say I happen to be from India, but my site visitor wants to search for properties in the USA, so can I first create a custom taxonomy for Country, then for State/Province, then for County, then for City, then for Borough (for New York for example), and then for suburb/area, etc.? And the same goes for automotive sales, where a site visitor, for example, is from Hong Kong but wants to import a car from Canada. Can he look for Canada from a drop-down list of countries, then look for Toronto from a drop-down list of provinces, then for city, etc. etc. ?
2) since my site will be an international site, will the site visitor be able to translate the site, on his own, to his language of preference?
3) can a site member who wishes to post an ad create an ad and choose the currency from a drop-down list that he wants to use to either pay for the ad, or for advertising whatever it is that he is selling?
4) and this is the most important question of all – is OSMOSIS the correct theme for what I want to accomplish?
those are my questions for now.

As what you need seems to be out of the range of OSMOSIS theme—and of many themes too—you should probably make extra effort looking elsewhere. At this moment, Osmosis provides MailChimp Newsletter integration which is styled in 2 different ways. With a modal window (in the Safe Button and in the Top Bar area) and with a plain form in the Bottom Bar Area (the area just above the Footer – see http://greatives.eu/themes/osmosis-corporate/). Additionally, you can create a section just below your header and place the mailchimp shortcode.

- Simple Sticky – like Corporate Demo
- Shrink Sticky – like Interior Demo
- No Sticky Header

Thanks for your response. Just one more question. With the advanced sticky the menu is on top of the home page picture… can you do a similar effect with the Simple Sticky?
Yes, of course you can! The options for the sticky header work independently. Osmosis doesn’t provide predefined headers but the possibility to build your own. That means you can easily integrate your header with the feature section (image, slider, color, map, video) no matter which Sticky effect you have selected. Hope it’s clear enough !

Applied the theme to an existing site and had issues with the VC not loading properly upon page save/reload and theme options for pre-existing pages not saving. Resolved by recreating the pages; not ideal but it worked. Other than that loving it so far.
Is there no shortcode button on the TinyMCE editor (i.e. add a message box to a post)? I don’t normally keep VC turned on for posts (only pages) and don’t see any reference guide for shortcodes. Did I miss it?

As our developer mentioned earlier in your support ticket, the issue with the VC (in a single page) isn’t probably Osmosis’ related case. However, our developer will try to identify the possible cause of the problem soon. About your question, there is no extra shortcode button on the TinyMCE editor. Osmosis uses the VC’s graphic interface for its’ shortcodes. In case you prefer (as administrator) the authors not having access in all shortcodes (while writing their posts) , you can easily use the ‘User groups access rules’ of the VC in Settings > Visual Composer.

Question about the dropdown (megatype) menu. Can I control the size (width and height) of the dropdown menu window? Can I control the location at where it should open? (sometimes it’s opening off screen or more to the left than I would like) Can I control the background color? Is it possible to place a background image instead? How do you turn on the icons (such as your demo of Hot!)? And, would it be possible to place my own color icons next to menu items in the list?

Yes, sure you can use multiple portfolios on different pages or even in the same page. Osmosis provides 3+1 (sticky) different Headers to style and use in each one of your pages. Additionally, you can enable/disable any of the header elements separately in page options.
