I got a report from a site visitor on Android v4.4.4 that the play button does not work on his phone.
Nexus S with v4.1.2 and Nexus 7 with Lollipop (5.0.2) both seem to work fine.

So the audio player broke, and I followed the fix to reinstall the theme. Which fixed the player (thanks), and broke the Themecaster Feed plugin… again.
So now our itunes pocast feed is not working. I have the latest podcaster theme installed -> 1.3.7.
As a reminder, the error is: “The plugin does not have a valid header.”
Please advise how to fix this ASAP.
I fixed this by:
1. Deleting the theme podcaster feed pluging
2. Installing the one from the downloaded podcaster theme (version 1.0.6)
3. Ignoring the activate prompt
4. Going into plugins and clicking activate (activating there)
5. Updating a post to reset RSS
Is there any way to change the color of the background header on all the pages (or, even better, to change it to an image instead)?
At the moment you’d have to go into the code and edit it.
.above{ background-color: #333333; } this in the child theme css file should do the trick. Work is currently being done, to make this easier, but for now, this is the way to go.

You can embed Sound Cloud players within posts as well as featured audio posts. Podcaster has not been tested to see if it supports Stitcher. Looking into it, though,
Hi, it’s me again. Powerpress has a nice compact playlist-option, that shows the episodes in a very compact manner. Podcaster redesigns this, so that it looses it’s main benefit, compare http://leben-fuehren.de/alle-episoden/ with http://testlab.dcademy.de/kompakt/ Any idea how to bring the compact powerpress-layout back?
I see what you mean. Right now there is no way of deactivating the Podcaster styling for playlists. You can however use a bit of css, to display the entire playlist instead of a scrollbar. I advice using the child theme, so your changes are not lost with future updates:

Hi, not sure if I found a strange feature or a bug: The Logo usually works as a link back to the frontpage. On smaller windows-sizes I experience two things: Logo will be chopped and the home-link doesn’t work any more. This is with iPad 1 and FF34, IE9 scales perfectly.

Inside a post, when I’m adding a custom URL to the Featured Audio section, when I hit Publish/Update, the URL gets stripped of the %20’s for spacing, rendering the pasted URL invalid.
Could you give me an example of how your URL looks (even an approximation would do). Just want to test what is happening here. Thanks.
Sure, for example if you had “My Song.mp3”, without renaming it to a proper web standard, that would translate to “http://whatever.com/My%20Song.mp3”. But when you paste that URL into the Featured Audio, it removes it and becomes, ””http://whatever.com/MySong.mp3”. It also removes ”#” if you have a filename like, “Song #1.mp3” or similar.
This sounds like it’s a WordPress standard made make sure web standards are followed. If you upload a file to WordPress that has a space, it will usually put a dash or do away with the space completely. Are you hosting these audio files on a third party site? And is there a particular reason you can’t replace the spaces with a dash when naming the files? Just asking, because this would be an easy way to solve the issue.

Yes, everything installed.
Update with the fix will be out within the next two days. But for now, the error should go away as soon as you upload a header image (Theme Options > Front Page Settings > Header Background). Sorry about the inconvenience.

The podcast player worked a few weeks ago, now it doesn’t. I think my webhost may have upgraded my version of WP to the newest version, but now the player looks awful and words like:
“Use Left/Right Arrow keys to advance one second, Up/Down arrows to advance ten seconds. Use Up/Down Arrow keys to increase or decrease volume.”
Are displaying where the player used to be. I’ve updated all plugins (only running 2 of them) and updated the theme but no luck.

Please update to the newest version of the theme. We’re currently experiencing issues with our update system so you will have to download the updated theme file from Theme Forest. We’ve switched to the Envato Toolkit Plugin for updates from now on. You will be prompted to install the plugin upon re-installing Podcaster. Sorry about the inconvenience.

Do you have instructions on how to manually update the theme? I don’t see them in your docs. I tried to upload via the WP “Add Theme” but it tells me the directory already exists (which makes sense).
I’m concerned with uninstalling the theme and re-installing as I have a ton of custom settings. Am I better off FTP-ing up and overwriting the theme directory, or exporting settings, uninstalling, reinstalling updated version, and importing settings?
Your settings will not be lost when you delete the theme files. If you feel more comfortable with FTP and exporting your theme settings, do it that way. You can even make a backup of your files as well. But as long as you did not make any changes to the code itself, your settings will be there after you re-install.
I was exploring how this responds at mobile size and see the lined menu indicator in the left at the top. I’m in Chrome. When I click on it, no menu shows up. Tried in Firefox, too. Any ideas why it doesn’t display the menu at that size? Tried to view in ipadpeek.com and same issue – no menu in the smaller views for phones.

Thanks for letting us know. This, however, is not a bug. After re-sizing, please re-fresh the page. The navigation is meant for mobile devices. If you resize the window on a desktop, the menu only begins to work on refresh. This has no effect on mobile devices, since the page loads in it’s narrower state to begin with.

BUT, you cannot see the slider. You must have it disabled for mobile. It leaves a HUGE blank space – shouldn’t something be in there so the site doesn’t look empty? Chose light version on iPhone and entire screen except nav and banner black. I knew to scroll to get to the posts, but it doesn’t look right to an average user happening on the site for the first time. BUT it shows on Android.

We recently updated the podcaster theme to fix the volume coding issue (Use left/right…) which was appearing on the front page. Now the issue is the Subscribe Button 1 & 2 are no longer showing at the front page of the website. http://chonillanetwork.com/chonilla/

I Bought theis beautifull theme last week and are now preparing the relaunch of my podcast based on it. As expected, the deeper I dive, the more questions I have:
1) How can I setup the 404-Page that’s mentioned in the docu?
2) How can I create a shortcode-button in the “highlight-color”?

1) To view the 404 page simply type your http://yourdomain.com/404. No further setting up needed. 2) The Shortcode buttons are handled by a separate plugin that does not have this option as of now. But this sounds like a good idea for a new feature. Please keep your eyes open for a plugin update in the next couple of days. Hope this answers your questions.

At the moment there is no way to edit it, without going into the code. If you wish to translate it, you can make use of the translation files. Other than that, no, but we’ll keep this in mind for updates!

We have been having trouble with our updating mechanism and have now switched the the Envato Toolkit Plugin. For now you will have to download it from your Theme Forest downloads. How do i show an Excerpt of the Episodes on the Archive-Page?
i even see <?php the_excerpt(); ?> in the code on the page-podcastarchive.php but it doesn’t show anything.
I’ll be honest that line of code is not supposed to be there and will be removed in the next update. If you want to have excerpts on your archive page, you can do it at your own risk. Displaying it might break the grid. And it will mean activating the child theme and overriding the css that is currently hiding it. (So your customization isn’t overwritten in the next update) The line is 3445 ’.page-template-pagepage-podcastarchive-php .entries.grid .podpost .entry-content p’
