Thanks for your response to my last question. I have a new one – forgive me if the answer is obvious!
I’m creating a homepage, and have used shortcodes to lay it out and populate it…but I think VC would be a better choice for some elements. However I’m getting the “Your page layout was either created with a previous Visual Composer version…” error. I’m going to work through the code and try to see whether any elements fall outside VC rows, which will hopefully fix that.
My question is – how can I add custom loops to this homepage – I want to pull in CPT elements and display them – probably based on a custom field (‘display on homepage’, for example). There will be at least 3 types of CPT, so I’m looking for a method to do this several times on the page. Can I do this with the Salient version of VC?

There’s no elements inside of VC that will allow for that by default – you’d either need a plugin or to create custom vc elements that handle the querying

this wouldn’t be possible as you’d most likely need to only disable parts of the style.css file rather than the whole thing. What plugin are you having issues with?

I’m having multiple project categories (e.g. Cat A, Cat B, Cat C & Cat D) for my portfolio.
When I enter the detailed page of the individual portfolio pages and click on the back/forward buttons, it cycles through all the pages from Cat A to D). Is there any way to stop that from happening? I would only want the back/forward button to cycle through portfolio pages of the SAME project category, and NOT ALL project categories.
Hi, I’ve got another question. Where do i upload the image I want to use for the lightbox of y individual portfolio item? Now, whenever i click on the ‘View Larger’ button, a prompt says ‘Image cannot be loaded. Make sure the path is correct and image exist’. And thats because I have yet to upload any images for my individual portfolio item?

Senior Salient, Quick question is there an easy way to move around the placing of the portfolio when in mason view? For example my Portfolio page needs to have the elements moved around in a different order

Hey – you can disable the Salient VC and opt to use the RAW VC instead if you please, but you’ll lose some of Salient’s custom elements by doing so

I read about modifying header.php to add a text string to secondary navigation. I need to put there a phone number and mail address. May someone explain the code needed and where to put it in the header.php file?

If you just need to place those times you can do so in the admin panel – appearance > menus section with custom links
My fault, I don’t want the full navigation on top secondary navigation bar, I only need to put there a phone number and a mail address.
well, the exact procedure is: admin panel – appearance > menus section > locations tab > select a new menu fot secondary navigation > ADD LINKS for phone number and mail address.

When I add an icon code on my page, I just have one extra colour option and it only changes to that colour when I hover over it, as opposed to vice-versa on the shortcode demo page.

I tried and add CSS to a column, but I cannot round the corners, add background color and add borders. It goes ok with shaddow though.
