I second everything that shadowrider921009 said up there: the bugginess and user-unfriendliness of the isolated VC component is just unbelievable. I just gave up and downgraded back to 5.0.1.
I’m bummed because Salient is such a beautiful theme to use, but 5.5 is just too much of a letdown. Dealing with the new VC is not worth the upgrade.

I have a blog with no sidebar etc and infinite scroll. I have noted that it doesn’t scroll or generate new content when one reaches the bottom as expected. Is this a bug?

Also, in regards to embedded twitter updates. Individually a post is visible, however when one observes all posts from the blog, the content like images and videos aren’t included. Is there any way in which I can embed a twitter post and have the media content visible when I drill up?

I am copying the twitter status url into a post and it generates a copy of said status. No plugins used.
PROBLEM/RECOMMENDATION #2: PLEASE create an option in the Salient Panel where we can remove the fullscreen header space and keep the original/smaller Header(not fullscreen), AND keep the header bar this really cool header bar i circled where it has the share options, comment counter, and tags at the top? http://prntscr.com/6b5lwg this would really add alot of sophistication to your design if you offered this option.

I’m currently using this theme and am VERY happy with it. However, Visual Composer was causing some issues when it was still integrated into the Theme.
Now that it is separate OMG the bugginess and unreliability has hit an all time high. The amount of times I create a text block only for it to save and display a ton of the hidden VC shortcode (doubling the VC code), is increasing day on day.
Along with this VC has started to create elements and rows which I never selected and if I try to delete them it deletes the entire page of VC, not just its single element.
This cannot continue, I’ve gone from prototyping a page design in 30/60min to spending hours fixing VC’s * * * * * it’s like using Word 2007 no matter how much I try to fix it it only gets worse!
TL;DR: This new separate VC is garbage, yup unreliable and extremely buggy!
I’d like to also state that the new VC is insanely difficult to isolate what component/element belongs to what row. As there are simply no border-lines (everything is just WHITE, it’s like they threw user-friendliness out the window!)
Along with this the actual VC component editor is SO small, can it not be wider, writing long text in it is unpleasant!

I cannot install it, wordpress tells me that the stylesheet is missing, even though I have tried both uploading the zip file I got from the site and the unzipped folder that it contained. PROBLEM/RECOMMENDATION: PLEASE create an option to manually sort the items in the portfolio. as designers/artist we need to show our BEST work and sort portfolios to ensure maximum impact. Your current setup of only sorting portfolios by filter or publishing date is ok, but ineffective. sometimes we will have older works we published a year ago and want that to be at the top! instead of always changing publishing dates. please create a manual sort like you have for the sliders slides so we can drag where we want the images!!!!

Thanks for the new update, the VC plugin is really smooth. However, before I updated, I set-up a child theme just to be safe but now my portfolio is missing all of the “thumbnails” the links still work and nothing else on the site has been affected.

Hi! I have an issue with the woocommerce product grid (3-columns). After pressings the ‘add to cart’ button underneath an item, the grid breaks, e.g. an item on the 2nd row jumps to the 3rd row leaving a blank space, etc. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi. Yes, the issue occured with v5.0.1, but I updated to the latest version, and the problem persists. (http://bit.ly/1zm02R1). Perhaps related; I used the eCommerce dummy data and the ‘no-sidebar’ example page also shows shifted elements (http://bit.ly/1EYEQoX).
Try adding this into the custom css box in the Salient options panel:

So I checked the box for Single Project Nav Arrows Limited To Same Category in the Portfolio Tab in the new 5.5.2 version, but it is not limiting my projects to a specific category. It is still showing all of the projects when I cycle through the next/prev arrows. What am I missing or doing wrong? I have 2 separate pages with different categories displaying different portfolios… Thanks

2. I have a bunch of small woo commerce questions. I have search the this board but just can’t seem to find the answers. So here we go:
- Just don’t seem to see any + / – buttons on the single product page
- My shopping cart symbol wont show up
- How can I center the title and price under a image in the shop (product overview page)
- My page pagination numbers (wont show) in a test-shop i made. It works in the woo-commerce shop
- Yith Magnifyer doesn’t seem to work at all.
- In the woo commerce option list I selected ‘add to cart on hover’. But i really want to have the single product page layout (+/- and buy button) from the ‘add to cart txt on hover’. How could i make that happen?
3. I have a large range of products. So i really need a good product filtered. So I tried to use the following 5 product filters in a widget, All of them did not work:
- WooCommerce AJAX Product Filter (by Farhad Ahmadi ): Wont show up in the side bar
- WooCommerce Product Filter ( By Mihajlovic Nenad): Shows up in the side bar, but does not work
- Advanced AJAX Product Filters for WooCommerce: Wont show up in the side bar
- Advanced Product Filters: Wont show up in the side bar
- YITH WooCommerce Ajax Navigation: Wont show up in the side bar
What i’m i doing wrong?
I tested everything with all plugins off… actually i don’t know where to go from know.

1: Could you share your URL in regards?
2.1: Have you cleared your cache since updating? 2.2: Could I also see a URL for this? 2.3: Are you using the WooCommerce page builder element? Currently there’s no pagination option for that yet but it will be added soon 2.4: There’s an option in the salient options panel > woocommerce tab for ” Gallery slider with zoom on Hover” did you enable that? 2.5: This would require custom development as of now – you’d need to see the content-product.php file located in the woocommerce directory
3: I will test with these to see what the issue is – I assume you’ve confirmed they work when using a default WP theme?

2. 2.1: One of the plugin addons you’re using might be override the Salient woocommerce ones
2.2: The icon will chnage to the alt one when using the ascend skin which you can activate in your options panel > general settings
2.3: The next update will include the option
2.4: Make sure you disable your plugin which is attempting to add the same funcitonality as well

I’m planing to move a site from an unsupported theme into salient, but I work with image galleries withing posts, add other elements such as videos and embedded audio.
Is it possible to accomplish with this theme?

You could use the masonry portfolio in regards but that would require using an actual portfolio element (with projects created in a post type). There is a gallery element you can have a grid with and add images on the fly without your post but it wouldn’t be able to mix video popups as well
