Even 128mb memory limit differs between servers. If your server is not managed to work on all wordpress benefits, customizer will have hard time there.

Ah I understand. You should only click “Continue” button, because when Wordpress Customizer is loading it is executing too much javascript and phh scripts to render panel. Seems your device is little bit weak for it. Just press Continue button and wait. It wont affect on your website or something other. Thanks for understaning

Still have troubles… I put the translated ‘de_DE.po’ and ‘de_DE.mo’ file in the cufo/languages folder (together with the two existing ‘en.mo’ and ‘en.po’ files). in wp-config.php file: I define (‘WPLANG’, ‘de_DE’); the wordpress front end is german / but the cufo theme is still english… check my files structure here: http://www.bongardglanzmann.ch/folder.png

I think it is cousing Ultimate Addons Plugin. Can you please rename plugin name letters to lower case? Some of them are uppercase and that may cause problem with some servers. If you cant fix the problem with that I will send you fixed cufo.zip on email. Just write me there

Hi unfortunately making it lowercase didn’t work. If you can send me the updated Cufo zip that would be great. I’m under a tight deadline to get this theme working. Also, this may be related to the plugin issue but the WordPress customizer is blank when I try to customize the theme even when I have the bad plugins disabled. The theme does show up on the front end but I can’t change any settings.

I can not send cufo.zip here, you should write me on email and I will send you there. Theme Customizer is blank because your server is having issues with memory_limit (php script execution). You should tell your hosting provider to increase it over 128MB and then it will work for sure. And if plugins are not installed properly, it may be your server issue aswell. 1. If you mean Copyright & Socials in “footer area” then you can change them from Theme Customizer -> Socials & Copyright (section)

2. Video embeds are responsive and whenever they fit content width then height is calculated automatically (if you mean at the top of the post), but if you are talking about embeds in the post content, then you can try to set width and height on embed code.

3. If you want to add Text Block on the top of portfolio template, then go to Theme Customizer -> Page Header and find Portfolio header options.

I notice that when it’s responsive at mobile size, that menu disappears. Is there a way to keep it around? It is going to be a major navigational menu for the site I’m designing. Thanks so much for your promptness and dedication! Haven’t seen anything like it, you ROCK!!

This is a custom css snippet, you should go to Customizer -> Custom CSS (section) and insert this code there:

.sidebar-top .filters { display:block !important; }

They won’t be hidden on responsive layouts any more. And btw show me your website please I’m collecting them.

I will try to accomplish that via Custom CSS, but before I think you should go to Customizer -> Portfolio Page (section) and try to find some good hover/default effects there. There are 20+ css Hover animations and at the bottom of that page you will find some effects like zoom/grayscale/rotate/overlay and so on.

Try this code, I’ve tested and its working:

.filters li:first-child { display: none !important; }

Let me explain you one thing: Filters are only for Portfolio/Blog Posts not for images. It means if you create Gallery Post and upload bunch of pics there it does not mean that you can filter them via Post Filters.

But anyways, there is a way to accomplish that. You will need to use Visual Composer. At first you should create a Page, in which you will insert “Media Grid” via Visual Composer. It will be filtrable and I think you will have some customizations and nice hover effects you may like.

But one more thing is there, if you are going to build Portfolio Page only with thumbnails(pictures) you can disable Post Title/Categories… from the Theme Customizer -> Portfolio Page (section). Then you should create Portfolio Posts only and Set featured images on each of them.

Okay, no wonder I was getting confused So Visual Composer is in the latest update of CUFO of 3/30 right?

I’ll need some time to process this information but one question: will I be able to mix and match? I’m assuming I can because your demo shows show some as thumbnails only and some linking to inner pages which is what I want to do.

So for those thumbnails linking to inner pages/posts is the filtering pulling out the FEATURED image as a thumbnail on the main portfolio page? Is that how it works?

Yes it is in the last update. To link Featured Images to single post page you should go to Theme Customizer -> Portfolio Page (section) -> Image Effects -> Overlay Click set to “Links to Single Post”.

Okay I managed to create a media grid using Visual Composer of the images I need! Hurray for that. But how do I filter them so they will show up under the filters/secondary menu?

Wow my bad, I remember there were filters for media grid. As I see there is no way, you should create posts and set featured images on them. Then you should create page with Visual Composer and use “Post Grid” and at the bottom there is an option for enabling filters. Or you should do like I told you in previous comment ( via Portfolio Page).

P.S. Media files can not be filtered in wordpress because they don’t have categories. That means you should create 1 post for 1 media file if you want them to be filtrable. This is the end…

Oh okay I’m confused now So let me see if I understand this: does that mean there is no way I can just have a simple non linkable gallery on that portfolio page (organized under filters/secondary menu then?) without creating individual posts for all thumbnails? .

Because if I have 12 images for a filter category I’ll need to create 12 different posts with a featured image each? That means all these 12 posts have no text in them because I really only need the ‘featured image’ to show as thumbnails so I can filter them to show as a gallery…

And does this also mean that the lightbox feature won’t work? I can’t click on that thumbnail to bring up a lightbox instead of a link to an inner page? (since there is none)?

Well, You can create Portfolio Posts with featured images and insert content there aswell. On the Portfolio Page they will be displayed as one of the demo pages (depends which one you are using. ex: saturn).

But you can remove Post title and Post categories, which are displayed below featured images on the Portfolio Page. (this way you will get only thumbnails/images). And you can set it up to link to single post page or open in lightbox. Also these Posts(in your case thumbnails) will be filtrable.

Hi Duke, something glitchy is happening to my portfolio page and I cannot understand why! Part of the filter menu is disappearing and appearing on the next page (pagination). What did I do wrong?? (I’m going with portfolio thumbnail linking to inner pages (keeping it simple). )

empty filters are hiding, thats how it works. If there are no posts under that filter on the page it wont appear.

Yea all categories/filters assigned to at least 1 post. They all show up on the page, the glitchy thing is actually in the filter menu itself, it gets split up across pages which I don’t know why it would do that (instead of all in a row).

Here’s the other strange thing (or maybe that’s what it does?), when I increase/decrease the ‘posts per page’ under Customizer>Portfolio Page, betwee, 3, 6, 9 it does strange things to the filter menu and spreading it across pagination.
