Hi, I’m building a content agreggator website. Is this theme suited for this?

It’ll be close to a magazine style theme. Is there a review, featured posts, and those kind of features typical from magazine themes?

Sure! We have a stack called Ethos which was designed for magazine style sites. Have a look at the demo site.

It doesn’t have “reviews” as that’s more in the territory of plugins, but does have some nice ways to organize posts and setup featured content.

hi

I have just purchased this theme and trying uploading to word press several times unsuccessfully. It just comes up as Failed to write file to disk.

Help

Hi Charles,

Welcome! We have a video tutorial here about installing the theme. If you need anything further, a member of our development team will be happy to assist in our forum, and you can register here for access. Once logged in this thread explains how to search, post, and use the forum.

Cheers!

You’re welcome!

Hello

What does it mean to get verified? We are probably going to use the theme on our testing server which might be local as well as online testing server with a domain that is different than the final website.Because multiple designer will work on each website at the same time.

Does this mean we wont be able to download the extension?

Also what are the limitations for all the installs on our testing servers since we wont verify them?

thank you

Hey There,

This is no problem at all. In our member area you can delete and regenerate the API key as often as you wish. Removing an API key only will remove the automatic update option from your installation, the extensions will stay activate and work properly so the local installation does not have to be validated to use the extensions, it only affects the automatic updates which you most likely won’t need on your local server.

thank you

You’re welcome!

Wow, gratz you beat avada!

Hope you always luck with sales, great jobs for the team :) good luck for THEMECO

Thank you danzTheme :) More exciting days ahead for X and our incredible customers!

I am concerned that very few of your showcase sites appear to work on the mobile phone Android browser I am using.

Often I am told by the Android browser that the site I am heading to is not the site I am requesting but just a page on the browser. Sometimes it is a server test page, some times just pretty much blank, sometimes “under construction” despite the fact that I just accessed the site on my laptop, and the site scaled down perfectly when I slimmed the browser window.

Or I would get a could not make a secure connection error, or SSL certificate error.

Or maybe worst of all… site taking too long to load.

One site selling survival knives on my laptop was selling Photography tutorials on my cell… for a site that was listed as another showcase (but didn’t work on my cell either). And yet I could not replicate getting the same site scaling down my browser on my laptop.

All in all I’d say maybe 10% of the sites worked on Android.

I am going to need my site to be read on mobile devices, it’s an absolute must, but there’s very little in your showcase that leads me to believe this will be the case.

I like your product’s features and I have a very unique use for them, but they don’t amount to a hill of beans if they can’t be delivered to Jack and Jill Surfer.

I am wondering if a bootstrapper framework might deliver better results. Try and find a decent review site though.

Hey There,

Thank-you for checking out X and a sample of the thousands of sites built with our beloved theme :) Our showcase section is a place where we showcase our customers websites and the customizations range from very simple tweaks to heavily modified. Since we are not hosting any of these sites nor are we administrating them, we ultimately have no control over them.

We’ve gone ahead and tried the showcase sites on our android devices and can not replicate the problems you’re experiencing. One thing you could try is clearing your browser cache of your android device which could be one reason for the different experiences you are getting between your laptop and smart device. If you’re still experiencing problems then feel free to use the contact form here and send us all the information about your device and the website urls so we can take a look at this more in depth why this is just happening to you.

X 100% supports ssl encryption and if applied properly there are no ssl errors. Since ssl is something server side related and the certificate of websites is set up by the site owner and not us we can’t control this on sites we are not hosting.

If you want to test our framework and theme and see if it fits to your needs we recommend browsing through our own demo pages here. This will ensure that you get an experience of our theme without any 3rd party modifications and a seamless experience since our theme is optimized and tested for all major tablets and smartphone devices.

Our theme is one of the best optimized WordPress themes in the industry and by using smart engineering which prevents unnecessary and unused files to load when they are not required we provide a very slim yet powerful theme which scores high with all major site speed test engines. Site load speed and performance is a key factor to a successful business and site so we’ve payed extra attention on this and you can rest assured that if your server hardware (web server) is up to speed then you will have outstanding results with X.

Cheers!

I just purchased my 2nd X license. I am building a new site on a managed wordpress staging domain. I’d like to generate an API key to unlock the extensions. If I do this by entering the purchase code and current URL – which is a STAGING DOMAIN – will there be a problem once I go live with an actual live URL? Do I need to wait until I go live to apply the API Key and unlock the extensions?

Hey There,

You can delete and regenerate / reassign the API keys as often as you wish. Once you’ve logged into our member are under Account > Manage Licenses you can edit your API keys at any time.

Let us know if you need anything else.

I’m interested in your theme, great work guys.

I was wondering before I purchase if work is still being done on the mobile side? Some things I noticed:

-The button to call up the menu hangs sometimes and will not open

-The sub-menus are non-existent

-If I click on “Social” once, it takes me to a new page but if I click it again (on that page) it flips me over to my Maps app and after returning to the site the menu won’t open any more

-The first time I loaded the site, none of the sections on the homepage that update with text or counters were working so there were large blank areas with either nothing in them or counters stuck at zero. They seem to be loading now when I go back to the homepage but they load slowly; if I’m scrolling as a new user to the site, they’ll still appear to be blank to me unless I hesitate/stop scrolling on the area for a good 1 to 3 seconds.

-There’s a minor issue with the buttons on the Shortcodes > Callout page where the button isn’t large enough to cover the black circle in the background.

I didn’t go all the way through the whole site but you get the idea. Overall I feel the user experience on mobile really strips the luster from this theme and took my excitement from a 10 to a 5. Don’t get me wrong, I really love what you’ve got going on – but the mobile user needs a better experience here unless I’m misunderstanding something. Thanks for hearing me out guys.

For reference: I was surfing the Integrity Stack (http://theme.co/x/demo/integrity/1/) on an iPhone 6 (iOS 8.1.1) on WiFi using Google Chrome (41.0.2272.58).

Hi there,

We appreciate you reaching out about these mobile concerns. I’ve tested each one, and I’ve been able to reproduce two issues.

The problem with the submenu was actually a little bug on our demo sites (not affecting the downloaded product) after a change we were trying out. It should be fixed now. Each sub menu will indicate there are more items with a toggle icon. The icons were missing before, but are there now.

Regarding the Button on Shortcode > Callout, images are used to apply the circle above and below the button. They’re meant for buttons with more text or a larger container area. I admit that might not be the best choice on our part for a button type on that page when it comes to mobile. However, you can use other button types – or, when you use the marketing circle button you can do it where there isn’t an additional container from something like a callout.

I’ve been testing the mobile button, and it opens / closes smoothly for me. I’m not sure at the moment what may have caused this when you checked the site.

As for the content not appearing, I couldn’t get this to happen, but it could be related to our “fade” script. This makes columns and counters initially invisible until you scroll close to them. Then they fade in. By default it should take just over half a second to complete. Any longer might be a problem with the browser not timing things correctly. We use the same code for desktop and mobile for this feature and haven’t had any issues to date. Of course this functionality can also be disabled entirely if needed.

We hope this helps clear things up! Take care!

Great, thank you very much for the detailed response! Will be purchasing this week and look forward to digging into your product.

You’re most welcome. :) So glad we could help out. Have a great week!

Wow you beat Avada !!! Congrats !

Thank you NashuaDSantos :) More exciting days ahead for X and our incredible customers!

How do I add a responsive slider to my homepage using Ethos? I’m able to insert the responsive lightbox element, but I don’t see a slider like those shown on your Ethos shortcode list page here http://theme.co/x/demo/ethos/1/shortcodes/responsive-slider/

Do I need to manually insert the shortcode for that, and if so, how do I do that? I tried copying and pasting it into my page using the Classic Mode but no luck.

Thanks.

Hi,

Is there an option to move flowers in slider like in this web design

http://www.webdirectors.co.uk/

Thanks

Hey there,

Any animations handled by the slider would be carried out in Revolution Slider, which comes with your purchase of X. For the most part, Revolution Slider gives you an incredible amount of control to animate almost anything; however, definitely take a look at their listing to see all that it’s capable of to ensure that it’s right for what you need.

Cheers! :)

Hi guys,

I am installing theme for a client, and I have installed your theme before but never encountered this kind of issue. When I import data either via xml or via your demo import option, I only get imported 6-7 pages, and not all. Why is that? I have installed this theme before, and everything went smooth.

Regards, David

Hi David,

Our current demo content importer provides the option to install the home page then an optional import of example pages for those who would like them. One of our developers would be happy to help in the forum, however a verified purchase is required for registration. Your client would be welcome to register and post a question (or whomever purchased the license).

Cheers!

Hi there! Just a quick pre-sale question!

I’m looking at the demo for integrity..this link here.. http://theme.co/x/demo/integrity/5/blog/

And curious if there is a possibility to reduce to length of each blog post photo in the blog feed as they are quite large for my liking?

I’d like the images for each blog post on the blog feed to look more along the size of this.. http://mundus4.premiumcoding.com/category/blog/

For example, if the display photo for each blog post was 500×700, i’d like to reduce it to 250×700. Could I do this or at least customize my image to be a smaller size than what is show in the integrity demo?

Hope that makes sense and thanks for your help!

Hi There,

Out of the box, the size of the featured images is related to the size of your content area and sidebar which is set in the Customizer. As you can see in this demo. The wider you make the sidebar the smaller the content area and subsequently the size of the featured images. There is also a masonry option for the blog which will place your posts in a grid like you see on this demo keeping the featured images much smaller.

Our Ethos Stack (built into the theme and one of the design options) has some unique options for featured images that you can see on our main Ethos demo.

Let us know if you need anything further!

How do I make the lightbox image that pops up a link to another page??? Meaning that when you click the image it pops up the lightbox—and then you click on the lightbox and it goes to another page.

Hi There,

That would require some customization as the lightbox is intended to simply show the element you are clicking with the lightbox effect. If you’d like for one of our developers to provide a little more clarity, they’d be happy to do so in our member forum.

Cheers!
