The “Big” Search box, use the default WordPress search function, so if the plugin / custom post types you are using have enabled the search, the search box will display all the results founded on your website: pages/articles/custom post types, etc. Keep in mind that I’m using the default search function, so will work and display the result as any theme.

So it is not possibile to define the custom post types to search

If the Custom Post type you are using have the search enabled you’ll be able to search and get results with the big or small search box. By default the WordPress default search box will display the results from everything, pages / articles / custom post types, etc.

Ok.So let me ask you: what do you think to let these feautures (“big search”, “random articles” independent, like a “shortcode or widget”? Your theme is SO nice, but I think me and a lot of people are waiting for flexibility (in these times of “Visual Composer” and other page builders),

I mean, it would be great if we have freedom to put elements wherever we want/need in each particular project.

I create simple themes, there are a lot of customers, that have problems understand how a widget work, or how to display a Featured Articles based on a tag that obviously is explained in the Documentation, etc, imaginate the problem when you’ll let them to duplicate the demo with shortcodes or via widgets, yes is a nice idea, that idea was integrated with “Undo” Theme, the home page for “Undo” is created with Widgets, 100 customers from 160 have asked the same question again and again how to use them, bad ratings etc.

So, for the moment I don’t have plans to make this theme “More complicated”, but thanks for your suggestions and for taking your time to write them.

I do have plans to create Magazine Themes using the VC plugin or with widgets, but will be for the next themes. This is just a personal theme, “Personal” = simple theme.

Hi There,

1. The point of register/login is if you want to add a forum like bbPress, etc, so obviously is optional.
2. Or, you can use the register/login option and from Settings > General > New User Default Role, select “Contributor” and the new users will be able to add an article via WordPress Editor, submissions automatically create a post in “pending” you can select “Publish / Pending or DrafT” status so that administrators can review the item before it appears on the site.
