to insert a photo or video you need one of the sliders we have included in the theme install, Revolution Slider or Layer Slider, I will explain you how to do this via the Revolution Slider.
1. In the Admin Panel click Revolution slider and now create a new slide by clicking Create New Slider and make sure you have set the settings something like this: http://d.pr/i/13rpO
Click Save and move on.
2. Now get back to the Revolution slider and on the slider you just created click Edit Slides
3. Click New Slide and select from the media to add a new slide image or video.
4. Go to the Pages and select the page you want to insert a slider, click Add element and choose Revolution Slider, choose from the dropdown the slider you just created.

Thanks for purchasing Kalium and sorry for these issue but its the beginning of our theme and we didn’t completely tested for all user cases.
Here is quickfix for this issue:
1. Download this file: http://d.pr/f/14iR5 2. Replace in /wp-content/themes/kalium/tpls/postthumbnailsimple.php
It should fix this error.
We will update Kalium today with this fix included and some new features

Hi,
There is a problem with the menu. By default the template load 4 menus on the page : Main menu, mobile menu, top menu, side bar menu. It’s not good for seo. Because Google see 4 same menus and not one. Usually the menu is displayed with css attributes. Could you give me a solution to have only one menu on my html code please ?

Hi laccardi, this is a good case, we will change our code to show only one menu that you have chosen from theme options. We will release that on our next updates and you will see that info on the Changelog.

Hi, thank you for the update. It’s better than before but now we have 2 menus on the page. Main menu and one for mobile. Is it possible to have just one menu for SEO ? Is it possible to add css to have one responsive menu ? or add php conditions to display menu for mobile (depending on screen size) ? Regards

But I can try another alternative via JavaScript and see if that works fine for you.

Help needed!
-I installed wordpress on my blog, then the theme kalium, which i purchased yesterday.
- The homepage showed a PHP error. then i changed the file mentioned here in the support . The file i replaced by is http://d.pr/f/14GZp . The error on the homepage hence disappeared.
When i try to activate the Visual Composer Plugin. This is the error that I get -

Depending on your PHP version all these issues comes from the old version of PHP (5.2.17 – which is old), as the errors you’ve have pasted here are coming from Visual Composer, a plugin not developed by us but from WPBakery, and thus I believe they also require PHP 5.3.x or higher.
Another issue that I have noticed in homepage is also related to this thing, and after discovering about it I have found this answer which tells that the php 5.2.x version doesn’t support it:
http://cl.ly/image/2U3V3I0c460pWe always develop our themes with PHP 5.4 in mind because it offers all the features demonstrated in our demo site and you will be more likely to have less errors, as other users had it up and running fast the first steps with Kalium.
Hope that you will manage to fulfill requirements of PHP, usually PHP version can be changed inside cPanel.
If you still have any problem feel free to contact us.
After upgrading your PHP version we believe that you will increase the rating you gave because Kalium is made for flexibility and thus requires latest standards.

Loving the new theme. Having a problem with something I am hoping can be remedied. I created categorized portfolio pages. Each item loads fine but the item project navigation at the bottom of the work refers back to the main portfolio instead of the the page that is organized by category. Meaning if clicking next project or previous or the squares icon, it refers to the main portfolio (which I call work). Any way to fix this so it refers to the properly categorized page that was originally chosen? Thanks in advance!
Out of curiosity I checked your demo portfolio and it has the same issue with filtered categories. I click on a category, then an item and the bottom navigation for each item refers back to the main portfolio project not the next in line with that category.

we looked up this problem and you’re right, it is more logical when you go back to the projects to get to the category you clicked.
We are currently working on the new update 1.1 which will be mainly for bug fixes and some small features, I have added this to the to-do list so you should expect a fix for it in this update on the next update. Next week we will release the shop and some new demos of the theme.

Thanks for purchasing Kalium theme and for your kind words.
It is strange how this error message appears when its supposed to work with Visual Composer.
I doubt that you are using an older version of VC so I suggest you to update it. Information about how to do this can be found here:
http://documentation.laborator.co/kb/general/how-to-update-themes-and-plugins/Simply deactivate and delete current visual composer version and then go to Appearance > Install Plugins
From there install and activate it.

1) is it possible to have to a description below each portfolio item/image? 2) is it possible to have increase content width… edge to edge for portfolio items (kind of like this: http://themeforest.net/item/spaces-creative-multipurpose-shop-wp-theme/full_screen_preview/8525907)? 3) the menu seems to have a bug currently… it’s floating but with no white behind it. i’m assuming that will be fixed?

1/ Hmm, no i was thinking about single portfolio, like this one http://demo.kaliumtheme.com/main/portfolio/noor-chair , when you hover you can see the description, we can help you to achieve that without hover, so the description will appear under the image.
What you are asking is not possible for the moment, that type of layout is only made possible from the masonry blog http://bit.ly/1CK1SN0, we can help you to remove the title from the blog posts on that page.
2/ Kalium 1.1 will be released tomorrow, it may take some hours until Envato review it and push an update
3/ That is not a bug, that is sticky menu without background, you can add background from the Theme Options
and this is how it will like when scrolling

I’m afraid that i can’t understand this question… Are you talking about Architecture version? If answer is yes, then i’m glad to say that today we will update Kalium, it will take some hours until Envato review our theme and push the update

I started building my site with the demo install Agency and customizing it to my liking.
For the moment, I can’t seem to find how to remove the icons that look like tools placed instead of the arrows on a slide of the portfolio and the one placed instead of the link back to the portfolio page at the bottom of a single portfolio post. I hope that you are making modifications on the child theme, because when the new update is out the core modifications (such as php files) will overwrite. Theme options and all the things that you have changed on the Wordpress will not be affected.
-Please be aware as by doing customization if something happens like miss-editing files the responsibility is yours and we wont support you on finding the problem, as we are only guiding you how to get the results you need.-
As for the 500px icon it is on our to-do list
P.S: I saw that your site is mostly populated with photography. We will include Photography demo soon, and i hope that you will like it

Don’t worry, the only modifications I’m making are in the theme options. I don’t know how to code. I leave that to talented artists like you guys.
I saw you had a photography theme coming when I bought it. I don’t often like “photography theme” as they always put full background with the photo that stretches beyond its original size (making it look bad) but I’m still curious to see what you will come up with.
It’s the same reason why I dislike slideshows but yours does a pop up in pretty photo that does not distort the picture. It’s great ! I wish the option would be available in more places (like in the portfolio list).

BTW, is there a way to have a slightly bigger primary font ? (now or in the future) I find the default a bit small to read.
As for the question with Jet Pack i’m afraid that we don’t give support for third party plugins, that problem is very difficult to know what’s wrong on that post.

first of all I want to thank you! As a graphic design student I’ve been looking for a “minimal responsive portfolio” solution for me but didn’t find any matching in about 9 months. Now I got yours and I have to say it’s wonderful! So many possibilities but also not too “overstyled”. Exactly what I was looking for!
Now I’m setting up my personal portfolio but I have a few questions:
1. At the 2nd breakpoint the navigation stays visible (as I want it to be), but also already takes the icon for it (what I would prefer in the next breakpoint for mobile devices). How Could I fix this?
2. Is there a way to set one breakpoint more? At the moment I have a grid with 4 images and then it changes on the iPad from the horizontal 4 images to vertical 1 image.. That seems a little bit too much for me. Would be nice to have a grid with 2 for exemple and with 1 on the iPhone
3. Is there a way to also keep the title and description always visible under the images with the masonry portfolio style? I want to keep the original aspect ratio on my images but would like to always have the title like in the freelancer demo page. If it’s too much for you to do it would be nice if you could just tell me the file where I should try to edit the code…
4. I want to use a webfont and have a .woff and .eot file. Waht do you think is the best way to adress all the typo on the page? Something like this?html body, html body p, html body h1, html body h2, html body h3, html body h4, html body h5 {font-family: Atlas Grotesk !important;}
I hope it’s not too much because I know you are already working on some updates… Would be nice if you could help me, but try to fix the bugs you know before… Time is not running for me as I want to finish the page in about 6-8 weeks

Because there are both visible at the same time, I think that’s not how it should work? I purchased the theme. Nice work. But I am unable to install the demo content as it is in the theme. Can you please guide me to exact steps after the theme installation what I need to do to import the demo. Should I import it from the file bundled with the theme or should I do it from the dashboard menu? Also I purchased the theme for “architecture” demo which I see is currently not available. I feel down for this as I purchased this theme after showing architecture demo to the client and it is not available now. Kindly let me know how do I implement the project/portfolio detail pages as shown in the architecture demo. I am under huge pressure to give the demo to the client ASAP.

When Kalium theme is activated we have made a message that will guide you to the process. (we will make a video tomorrow the procedure).
After installing Kalium you need to go to WP Dashboard > Laborator > Demo Content Install, and choose on of the Demos.
As for the Architecture demo, today we will release a new update to Kalium (1.1) and there will be included Architecture demo, so when you see that Kalium 1.1 has been released, just follow this procedure to update your theme.
But if you don’t need Architecure demo, you can recreate the same layout on Theme Options.
As for to create pages, just go to WP Dashboard > Portfolo > Add New Item, there you can choose one of the many layout options

I really like your theme but have some concerns before buying it, that I hope you would answer.
1. I’m a Motion Graphicer that mostly need to have videos from Vimeo in my projects and a lot of times 3-8 videos in one portfolio project. Is that possible?
2. It can change a lot for me what I need to show and how much I need to show in each portfolio projects so is concerned after seen your demo-site about how restricted it is in the portfolio projects. Are you restricted to only have video in sudden boxes? Are you totally restricted to the layouts you are providing or can the layout and content be customized ?

We are working hard to implement vimeo and youtube on other 2 types left

2. fx. in your demo is there only video i sudden places in the portfolio projects. I wish to fx. be able to put video all the places where there are images in your demo portfolio projects (no need in the to portfolio style where you can’t put video in at the morment)
3. I wish to know how much fexibillity you have to custimize the layout in each porfolio project. Am I restricted only to set up things up in the definede layout or can I move things around and add other component (fx. visuel composer components)/ design things as I like in each portfolio project.

Having an issue with the demo content and converting to my own. The home page logo on upper left bounces back and forth between the placeholder (demo K logo) and my uploaded logo as the two slides transition. the first slide shows your K logo and then the next changes to my logo. I can not find anywhere in the settings to get rid of the demo logo. Can not even see that logo in the media assets. suggestions? site is littleboymovingmountains.com

Hi Derick,
the problem is that on our demo site we have added two types of the logo, one for the black background and one for the white background. So when you installed the demo content you go the slider settings too.
To fix this go to Admin Panel > Layer Slider and click on the slider you’re using, after that click on Event Callbacks and scroll down to the cbAnimStart, and delete all the text inside it.
