In first of all, i would like to congratulate you for this beautiful template.
I currently facing big problems to format the submenu. After checking in “appearances” and “menu”, the “css class” fields are missing. I made an update of the theme, but nothing there. Can you help me?
Hey – have you checked the screen options section tab pulldown to make sure it’s checked? It’s located on the top right hand side of your screen in appearances > menu http://www.basicwp.com/img/2012/02/css-class-enable-options.png
When inserting an image gallery using the VC, all images have the correct ALT text, but when viewing the image in the lightbox, the image does not contain an ALT text. Isn’t this a bug?
The alt text should display on the thumbnail shown on the page – the image that appears in the lightbox is inserted/removed via javascript so search engines wouldn’t see it anyway. Could you kindly share share your URL so I can take a look?
I see. Well that sounds logical, so thank you for the quick response. The site is still in production and locked behind a password, so I can’t really give you access. But then again it shouldn’t be necessary.

Hi there! Lovely theme really, got everything I need.
I just wanted to suggest a small adjustment to the nectar slider background alignment. I can choose between bottom, center and top. But sometimes I need something between those 
a top-center or bottom-center option would be really nice!

Is it possible to have the “sort portfolio” option for a the Home Slider template? I want to have a Homeslider with my work on the home page. While having the “sort portfolio” button to sort through my work. I am trying to have a single paged portfolio website with the Homeslider at the top, then the 3 colum grid layout of my work and that is it. Is this possible? Also the Home slider is not responsive for some reason on my mobile device. It is cropping my images. Thanks!

1. Unfortunately this wouldn’t be possible as of now without some custom development
2. Instead of using the Home Slider I’d recommend you switch to the Nectar Slider in combination with the flexible height option it offers. It will keep your aspect ratio as you desire on mobile

Ok Thanks, I did this, however I still am having the problem with my images not scaling with the nectar slider. On mobile my slider images are all cropped. But on my website it looks perfect! I checked the boxes for responsive design etc. but everything I have tried has not worked.

Love the theme, one of the easiest to use and most versatile. I have a nectar slider on my homepage and it works fine on desktops but on mobile the images aren’t loading and are replaced with a black background. I’m assuming for mobile the images are hidden to save load time? This works fine for two of the slides that had dark background anyway, but on one the button and title are black because it was on a white background and now they disappear into the black.
Is there a way to have the mobile version still load the images? Or at the very least be able to tell it whether to use a light or dark background so the buttons and text still show up when the graphics aren’t loaded?

I have built with this theme for two other clients and never had this issue. Maybe my image sizes are too large to load this time? I want to use hi-res though for a nice larger viewing experience if possible.

Scratch this, I fixed the issue some of my images needed to be relinked and were only showing on certain browsers but it is fixed now.

Sure, also it’s working on certain iPhones but not loading on others! Not sure why. The site is: http://gexa.us/about/ because it’s live the titles that have errors have been shortened but Baileys for example is “Managing Director of Design and Construction”
Mobile problem was likely user error on my part . No worries on that. Still need help with the job position problem though.

On other question – the text (member name and position) is aligning at the bottom now (the bottom line of the position is aligned.) Is there a way to make it align at the top (by the top line of the team member name)?

2 questions:
1) Do you guys not offer an accordion shortcode?
2) What is the easiest way to put a bunch of Tabs shortcodes inside an Accordions (or Toggles) shortocde? Would I want to do that via raw HTML in the text editor on a page or could I use your theme’s Page Builder?

1. In the toggle element if you edit the toggle panel settings there’s a checkbox for “Allow collapsible all”
2. You’d need to switch into the text editor and add the shortcode inside of the toggle shortcode since in the page builder your can’t directly add it unfortunately

Hey – based on your email, if you want to use a button shortcode instead of an image it would take file modding rather than just css. If you would still like to use an image I’d be glad to help troubleshoot if you could reapply the css

Hello, I have a couple issues.
I want to create a 3 column post, but If I don’t see any column setting to add padding to the middle one. If I set percentage the space between is huge. I only need this right and left.
Then, I want full-width with color on my row, but if I set 8% padding, the sides look as I want, but top and bottom looks terrible, it is not possible to setup this?
VC didn’t have an option somewhere? I can’t find it

I just want to state for the record that I purchase the Quote “Bridge” WordPress theme and I am flocking back to Salient. It is so complex and I couldn’t care less about their pre-themes they have available. It’s so complicated beyond words can explain and if I ever had a client that we built their site with Bridge, they would lose their mind as it would be very difficult to update. Thank you Salient. There are a lot of features that you can incorporate to step up to the game and make easily by one click full site background color changes instead of the standard you have, so if I want black or white, etc. There are also some issues with the mobile responsive logo that cover up over the right side nav bar, which is a serious problem that needs fixing. I really hope you guys expand on this theme as well as improve it. There is a backend simplicity to Salient that brings me so much joy. Keep up the great and please fix bugs and truly test it out with the new WordPress version on all web browsers and mobile devices including iPhone, iPad, Android, etc. Please be thorough. It’s very important to really find bugs and fix them. Yet again I say, thank you Salient.

Hi there, just a quick one, apologies if the question has been answered already. I have imported the dummy data correctly, but what if I want to change to a different layout, e.g.. one page layout or blog. Is there anyway to change it quickly without mess things around? Thanks in advance
Hey – you’d need to import the other dummy data set. If you haven’t modded the initial pages and just want to switch all together i’d recommended simply deleting them or having it done automatically with a plugin like https://wordpress.org/plugins/bulk-delete/

Hi, Quick question about the main menu… when it’s responsive I can only see the top level menu items – sub items don’t appear? I really need a child menu but this is no good if it’s not going to work on mobile/tablets. What do I do? Thanks

Hi Im having an issue with Visual Composer Plugin, suddenly it disappear from the pages edit, it only shows the text editor. The plugin it`s installed. Try to reinstall and had the same issue. Please I nead to keep working the site.

Yes they are activated. Suddenly it’s working again, but there’s a delay. When I want to modify a page, it takes about a while to show the VC editor.

When i try to edit the home page on the by default language the page drives me to a complete white page…and in some other pages it brings me to the admin page but the content is not there although it does exist on the website.
I had a feeling that the problem was on the visual composer so i went to ftp themes/ salient/wpbakery/js_composer (that is now on the theme on version 3.7.3) and replace it for 4.5 (which is the new version) so it got even worst as any menu botton i was pressing was bringuing me to a white page, even the proper website.
So as this theme was coming with the visual composer in it, how could i solve this problem?

Yes, i deactivate the Wpbakery folder by FTP and nothing works, everything goes to a white page. What do you recomend me to do than as that plugin comes with the theme?
Hey – v5.5 of the theme includes VC separated from the theme in plugin format. Could you kindly try updating to the latest version and seeing if that works better for you?

i did as you said but when i install de new version of the theme the pages of the website look unset with all the visual composer code around. So when i install the pluggin Visual Composer that i bought it doesn’t fixe, it looks a bit better but still with the visual comoser code. PLease could you help me? it’s becoming a nightmare. And why it keeps me asking to install Salient Visual Composer?

Hey again! Salient v5.5 has separated Visual Composer into a plugin and is no longer automatically built in – this means when you activate the theme you’ll have to still install the Visual Composer plugin via the admin panel (there will be a prompt at the top of your screen).

I am having the worse time with the past upgrade. My site is just locked up. I can’t preview a page nor can I edit the page layout in Visual composer because it literally takes more than 5 MINUTES to load in dashboard which is a completely unacceptable wait time for such a basic editing function.
I spoke with the kind folks at godaddy and they said it was the way the queries load on the site and is the theme itself that is causing all the issues. I have no idea what that means other than the frustration I’m now feeling in trying to update the most basic of things. Since then I’ve ran scan test plugins to see what is being used where. I’ve also removed half of my plugins as well.
I spent an entire weekend on this and have wasted hours of time just waiting for the basic functions to load. And this is where you come in.
Please see attached video that shows an example of what I’m experiencing.
I am inviting you to login to my account and to do something as basic as adding a row in visual composer. I want you to then press the save button or preview and see how long it hangs there.
You’ll wait for 5 minutes I guarantee it. . . .. . then VC won’t show anything at all then that will pop up 5 minutes later giving me a 10 minute wait time and I’m sure you’ll agree that the current wait time is.
I have a show in 3 days and my site being fully functional at this even is paramount so a quick reply would be greatly appreciated.
