I am having an issue with sticky sidebar on pages. Using Home Page Builder Section B + Sidebar. If I add anything in Section C Full Width it overlaps the sidebar from section B.
http://alohavalley.com/av/testing/Hey Punaboy,
Thanks for choosing 15Zine, and thanks for reporting that. That is actually a newly discovered bug in a specific setup. It has been fixed and will be included in the next update, until then if you want the patched file, open a ticket at http://support.cubellthemes.com and I can share it with you.
Best,
Cubell
Thank you! Looking forward to the update as well as having the search in the main menu update.
No problem, stay tuned
Hi Cubell! We are having reports of one of our sliders sometimes getting ‘stuck’ (won’t scroll left or right anymore). Only reloading the page seems to fix it.
This happens with some frequency on a fairly new MacBook with Safari, and I reproduced it on a Windows 7 desktop with Chrome. Often the problem does not occur, but sometimes it does.
It has been happening with this ‘Dailies’ slider here: http://riddlemagazine.com/
Do you have any ideas? Many thanks in advance from us.
Hey Tamarakorr,
Hope you are well!
I tried to recreate the issue, but I couldn’t experience it. However, it sounds like it might be related to a bug that existed in the first version of the theme with AdSense’s new types of ads that some times appear.
Update to the latest version (v1.2.1), and refresh your autoptimize and cache and it will likely be fixed. The update instructions can be found in the documentation.
I hope this helps.

Hi Cubell, I finally got around to installing the update and we have problems. First, I must be being blind because I can’t find the instructions in the documentation you mentioned? Second, when I updated on our test site, the update worked but our child theme CSS is being ignored. I see an update note that says there was a change to how the child theme CSS works, but I don’t understand what I need to do. Could you advise? Thank you
Hey Tamara,
There was a bug in the first version that meant the child-theme didn’t load the child’s stylesheet. If you downloaded the latest versions and installed both the parent and child-theme from that download, then it will all be working fine. And the update instructions are near the end of the docs, you can see it online too here: http://docs.cubellthemes.com/15zine/#!/updating_theme
Hope this helps
Cubell
Thanks, we got it working!
You’re welcome
How can I add color to the mega menu like in the demo. On the demo you hover over Music and Fashion and it goes from Pink to Blue. How do i accomplish this?
Hey Jrsevillian,
Thanks for choosing 15Zine.
Sure thing, that’s an easy one! Simply add a category menu item, and then edit the category in Posts -> Categories, and give each category a “Global category color” using the colorpicker. Once you set and save a color, the theme will automatically use it in the menu.
I hope this helps.

Hi! I’m about to buy this amazing template. Only a few question: - It’s possible to change the ‘share on’ buttons? Does the template come with that option or i need to install something else? - In the Review System. Can I set up it to give the visitors the possibility to rate each criteria or just ‘Reader Rating’ like in the demo. Thanks!!!
Hey Juanma99,
Thanks very much for the kind words and interest in 15Zine
The theme has an option to turn the 15Zine sharing block on/off, so you can then install your preferred plugin (free or premium one) and use that instead.
Regarding the review system, visitors only have an option to vote on one “Visitor rating” bar, however, I may look into it in the future and see if it is possible to have more.
I hope this info is useful!
P.s I also speak Spanish, so if you are more comfortable, you can talk in Spanish

Hola Cubell!

Hi,
I’ve got one more question:
In the demo homepage, http://15zine.cubellthemes.com module titles link to respective categories. I can’t seem to replicate that. Any titles I set just stay as inactive headers (like LATEST ARTICLES module in demo). How can I make them link?
I’ve already found a solution (here, in an anwser to a different question).
But it seems I’ve run into an unrelated bug in Blog Style G (or Blog Style B+D). It seems that the wide portion of it (D) doesn’t like when above two thin portions (B ) are of a different height (like when one of them has a long, multiline title). For example:
http://i.imgur.com/FznTC5p.jpgIf both (B ) portions are of the same height, it works OK.
Hey Futomaki,
Glad you found how to setup the linked module titles
And that screenshot doesn’t look good at all, but I think it may be because the image from the wide post isn’t outputting the correct image size, it should be much bigger – did you regenerate images? And could you please share the URL to take a look at the source and see what is going on? If you want to do that privately, you can do so on http://support.cubellthemes.com
Cubell
It is definitely related to upper modules sizes.
Here is one that works ok:
http://i.imgur.com/YgtxXrd.jpgNow I changed the title of upper left module, making it way longer:
http://i.imgur.com/HHzKyaX.jpgYou can check it at futomaki DOT pl
Please let me know if you need any additional data.
And yes – thumbnails were regenerated.
Also I tried turning all WP plugins (other than 15zine one) to check if any of them were responsible. But it didn’t fix it.
Hey again,
Ah I see, I definitely need to see your site live though to be able to determine what is going on and provide a fix (it’ll definitely be a very simple CSS fix). So please share your site URL either here or privately on the support system and i can take a look.
Cubell
site: futomaki DOT pl
I went on and tried to find the category with that blog style but couldn’t find any, can you tell me which category that image is from?
Homepage. Bottom section (latest articles).
It’s called “Najnowsze artyku?y” in polish.
There is an extreme example of this problem on page:
http://futomaki.pl/page/7/Meantime I started tinkering with code myself and I’ve found that adding an empty clearfix div in blog-style-g.php fixes the problem:
<article id="post-<?php the_ID(); ?>" <?php post_class('cb-blog-style-d cb-module-d cb-separated cb-img-above-meta cb-big-thumb clearfix'); ?> role="article">
<div class="clearfix"> </div>
<div class="cb-mask cb-img-fw" cb_img_bg_color="">>
<?php cb_thumbnail( '759', '500' ); ?>
<?php cb_review_ext_box( $cb_post_id ); ?>
</div>
Hey again,
Ah I see! You can actually just use CSS and it should fix it, try copy/paste the following code into your Theme Options -> Custom Code -> Custom CSS box:.cb-blog-style-d { clear: both; }
Hope this helps!
Cubell
Hello,
Yes, it did the trick.
Thank you so much
You’re welcome
Can you add social media icons and links to the middle of the very top menu bar? I like the theme, but I would prefer the social media links to be at the very top of the site where they can easily be seen instead of visitors having to scroll all the way down.
Hey Hipspy,
Thanks for the interest in 15Zine.
You can add social icons to the left menu of the top menu, as that was created with a simple menu in Appearance -> Menus. And as the theme comes with FontAwesome integrated, you can simply go on fortawesome.github.io/Font-Awesome/icons/ click on an icon, and then copy/paste the code given as the menu item title and they will output.
I hope this helps.

A Video Post Question:
I just ran the Video Format A demo page and noticed the following:
when i clicked the button the embed screen appeared …
when i then clicked the youtube start button the video played …
when i clicked the Video Format A embed X button the Video Format A page returned BUT the video continued to play …
this also happens using Valenti …
i’m expecting the video to stop …
is this a bug …
Hey Leemarr,
That will be integrated into 15Zine in a future update, the only way for that to happen is to integrate the YouTube API into the theme, and it will be done in an upcoming update. In Valenti though has already been done, videos there definitely start/pause when you show/hide the embed. You can see Valenti’s video working here: http://valenti.cubellthemes.com/videogames/post-with-background-slideshow-video-review/
Best,
Cubell
no it’s also happening using Valenti 4.0.3 …
there are two options to handle video post format …
with Video embed limited by feature size i must close the page to end the video …
in Video embed with lightbox it’s working the way i described above …
i click the X, i get returned to the post page and the video continues …
the only time the video ends is when i get back to the home or archive page …
see my test page at:
http://loop48.com/test/Hey again,
Ah you are talking about the new Valenti video option that was added in v4? If so, please report Valenti bugs in the support system: http://support.cubellthemes.com
Regarding 15Zine, like I mentioned, the YouTube API will be integrated into the theme in a future update to allow the theme to play/pause the video automatically.
Cubell
ok i’ll wait to see what the 15zine update brings …
meanwhile i’ve opened a Valenti ticket for this problem …
No problem
And I saw the ticket, I am going to be doing some investigations in the code today and I’ll get back to you when I find out what is going on.

Hi, Can write Theme in Thai language or not. “?????????”
Hey Sabudbobstudio,
Thanks for choosing 15Zine.
Yes, the theme can be in any language, follow these steps and you can get it in Thai quite quickly: http://docs.cubellthemes.com/15zine/#!/translation
After translating the theme, if you want, you can send me the Thai translation files and I can include them with the theme, so when you (and other Thai websites) update the theme in the future, the Thai language loads automatically and you don’t have to upload the files again.
Hope this helps.

Hi, love the theme. Is there a way to increase the amount of characters allowed for the blog excepts? I use the <!-more-> feature a lot, and it seems like that feature conflicts with the theme. My site is www.noaveragejourney.com if that helps.
Thanks, O
Hey O,
Thanks for the love for the theme and for choosing it
The only way to increase excerpt length at the moment is by editing the blog style file and increasing the value inside the cb_clean_excerpt( 160 ) bit (in this example, that code will show 160 characters). However, in the next update I plan to add global options to control the lengths better.
And what kind of conflict are you seeing? I have a post on the demo site using the <!-more-> feature and it works well :
Just make sure you are entering the code using the “view” tab in the post editor.
Cubell
In the excerpts on my homepage, the following comes up when I use the more feature: (more…)...
Ah I see, I will investigate where that is coming from and implement some sort of control/option for it, because it isn’t from the theme, as the theme doesn’t add (more…) anywhere.

Hello,
I just bought this theme and I am having major issues setting up the homepage. I keep getting the error message:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_comments_number_text() in /home/xyzasdkj/public_html/wp-content/themes/15zine/library/core.php on line 1411
Please help. I’m terribly behind schedule and my blog has been out for too long.
www.thinkoyo.com
Hey Odera24,
Thanks for choosing 15Zine.
That error means you are using a very old WordPress version! Update your WordPress to the latest version (4.1.2) and it will work.
You really should always update WordPress when updates come out as they normally include big security fixes in almost every update, which means by using an outdated version you are much more likely to have your site hacked!
Cubell
Thanks for the great theme!
How can I make the header background transparent?
Hey Naheller,
Thanks very much for your kind words and for choosing 15Zine
There will be a new transperncy option for that in a future update, but for now copy/paste the following code into your Theme Options -> Custom Code -> Custom CSS box:
.cb-header { background: transparent; }
and that will do the trick

Hey Cubell! Pre-purchase questions here.
1. Is it possible to use another social share plugin (this one: http://codecanyon.net/item/easy-social-share-buttons-for-wordpress/6394476) instead of one built-in?
2. Is it possible to make social login/registration? What plugin you can recommend to use for that? Without using Disqus.
3. I want to apply it to my current blog with a little over 1200 posts with the style of “Combo A+D or B+D”, but to display latest posts, so is it possible to do it?
4. In the trending mega menu there’s an icon of a lightning with a number, what does it stand for, and how website chooses what is trending now?
I think that’s all I need to start off with this theme, so hope to hear from you soon!
Thanks, N
Also, how is the theme working with paginated posts? Do you have any working example of paginated post?
Thanks, N
Hey Eskimoz,
Thanks for the interest in 15Zine
1- Sure can. You can turn all the post blocks (sharing, about the author, next/previous, related posts, etc) in the theme options. So you could turn the 15Zine sharing block off and then install any plugin you want to add your own.
2- The theme uses WordPress best coding standards, so in the login form for example, the form you see is actually the default WordPress login/register form. This means that you can install any plugin that adds the social register/login buttons to the WordPress form and it will work perfectly.
Here is a free one that I tested to add social logins and it works perfect: https://wordpress.org/plugins/social-connect/
3- Sure can, you can use any blog style you want to your categories/tags/homepage latest posts.
4- The lightning is just an icon to give the trending option some branding on your site. In the theme options you can change the icon too, you can choose between Lightning / Flame (fire) / Hashtag / Heart / Off (no icons). And the trending stats are calculated on the most visited/popular posts on your site.
5- You can use WordPress’ <!-nextpage-> feature to paginate a post, here is an example of a pagination post:
Hope this helps

Hi, Cubell. Is it possible to attach post in the slider? That the post was always the first.
Hey BeatCheat,
That isn’t really possible, as to stick a certain post would mean running multiple queries and wouldn’t be good for performance. And as the theme follow WordPress best coding standards, the queries for each module can only be run once and set to specific options, and in module queries there isn’t a way to do that i’m afraid (the only way is stickies, but I can’t make the modules use stickies as lots of people use them already and would cause too many problems).
Cubell
Hi
Firstly, I’m liking the theme. It looks good and the learning curve isn’t all that steep!!
A few questions;
1) On the Homepage (Slider Grid 3) it seems as if the only way to arrange the posts is to change the date of them.
This is key website real estate and I’d like the ability to arrange these as I wish as opposed to date order.
Could you bring that functionality in the future, or am I missing something.
2) I’ve added the following code;
.home .cb-author { display: none; } .home .cb-date { display: none; } .home .cb-post-meta { display: none; }
What code do I add to get rid of the little cross (x)
Site: http://wdps.org
3) When selecting Categories for the Homepage there are check boxes with no name next to them. Whilst through trial and error I can work these out it would be good if the names were there (unless this is plugin conflict)
4) On the builder it would be good if you could name the elements. When you build a lot it’s difficult to keep track of which is which.
Many thanks
Phil
Hi Phil,
Thanks for choosing 15Zine, and I’m glad you found it easy to use, the theme follows WordPress best practices as much as possible so everything is where you’d expect it to be
1- Do you mean to say you want to keep the same posts in the slider for long periods of time? If so, why don’t you use the tag or by posts filter, and simply add the posts you want to appear there permanently, or even better, give posts you want to appear there a tag, then make the module only show posts from that tag. In the future you can either add a tag to another post you want to show up in there, or remove the tag from ones you want to remove. Unfortunately though even with this you can’t specify the order of posts in a literal way, you can only use the “Latest / Oldest / Random” options which are WordPress query options.
2- If you want to remove the by line completely everywhere except inside the posts, you could go to Theme Options -> Extras, and set it to be that way in the “by line” options. Have you tried that?
3- That sounds really weird and definitely not right, it sounds like a plugin might be adding custom CSS or something like that and hiding the names, try disabling them all to test this.
4- What kind of names are you thinking of? Because each module shows the module title in it when closed?
Hope this helps.
Cubell
Cubell,
I was able to add the WooCommerce categories thru the Custom Link Menu function. Not an easy one, but seems to work.
Now, how can I target these menu items so they aligns in the center? https://www.dropbox.com/s/rchte0q0a37g4ia/Screenshot%202015-05-01%2009.54.44.png?dl=0
Hey again,
That’s cool, but check out my last response to your other ticket, I suggested you explore a bit more what is really happening!
And you need to now move your “sub menu items” that are under the first menu item in each column on to a new level, so that it looks like the “Features” megamenu in the theme. Check the documentation about this, there is a screenshot which shows how the menu should be setup to output that way.
Hope this helps.
Cubell
Hiya! I was wondering if there is a way to make post lists longer than the 12 or 16 that the drag&drop elements seem to limit to? For example, I have a category with 39 posts and I’d like to be able to list them all on a page that uses the drag & drop builder (either a slider or a post list). Perhaps that limit can be cranked up in future releases? Thanks so much!
Hey Halbrindley,
Are you asking as a pre-sales question or did you purchase the theme already through a different account?
Either way, modules have an option called “offset” which allows you to link multiple modules up and make them show posts from the same source (Category X for example) and not show repeated posts, so you can show 39 posts from a category through either multiple identical modules, or you could mix it up and show them through multiple different modules.
Hope this info is useful!
Cubell
Thanks Cubell, my wife (Cristina_sea) purchased it and we work on the site together! (http://www.travelforwildlife.com) Sorry, I should have logged in under her name. I did figure out the offset trick, thanks. I would love to be able to increase the limit in future releases because I’m trying to make post lists by a tag and not a category. Hence the infinite scroll & load more options are not available as they are in a category page. P.S. Is there a way to select for posts that have two tags (that must have both?) Thanks so much! -Hal
Ha! I just saw that there ARE options for tags like infinite scroll! I’ll play with that for a bit. Thanks!
Hmm, well I tried configuring 15Zine Options for a tag (like Blog Style C and Infinite Scroll) but can’t seem to figure out how to implement these settings on an actual page! Your help is greatly appreciated!
Hey again,
Ah I see! No problem, just needed to make sure
Where exactly are you trying to setup the infinite scroll on a tag? As the infinite scroll would work on an actual tag page, but not on a homepage with a module that uses tags, as modules can’t have pagination like that.
And if you want a module to show posts that have two specific tags, that would result in an overly complex WordPress query and it’s not great for performance, it’d be much better if you simply gave those posts a special other tag specially for tagging them to appear in a certain module.
I hope this makes sense and helps
Cubell
Hi there, was wondering about using a widget to display a single woocommerce product in the sidebar, my latest one, to use as the current issue for our magazine. Is there a way to edit what you have supplied to accomplish this?
I’ve tried out a few plugins and have gotten close to what I want, but nothing is quite right so far – single product, large photo, that links through to the product.
Hey Keenpixel,
Thanks for choosing 15Zine
Have you tried using WooCommerce’s own widgets? The theme comes with styling for most of them, and there is one called “WooCommerce products” that you can set to show 1 product. But i’m not sure it is possible to make that widget show a full-sidebar width image, is that what you’re trying to do?
Cubell
Yes, I would like one big image, the cover of the current issue of the mag, to display at the top of the sidebar. The widget supplied seems to list them with small images and titles. As I mentioned, came close with one plugin, but would like the image to link through to the product. Can’t seem to find in their code where to make that happen. :/
Ah I see, by “current issue of the mag” do you mean to say it’ll show the same image for a month or so? If that is the case, why not simply add a text widget, and insert the image of the cover wrapped in a link? And then each month manually update it? Might be a really easy solution. Set it up using the toolbar in the post editor, then go to the “View” tab and copy/paste the HTML code into the widget.
Hope this helps!
Cubell
Yea, that was my original plan. But I thought maybe I could automate it with a woocommerce plugin. Nothing is working out the way I want though, so back to the original idea I guess!
It is something quite specific, so even though I would have imagined something like that would have existed, if it doesn’t, then you’re better off just doing it manually, luckily it shouldn’t take long to do though
Cubell
Hello pre order question, Wpml compatible ?
Hi Davco,
Thanks for the interest in 15Zine.
Yes it is, it is 100% WPML compatible
Cubell
Great thanks
You’re welcome
Hello! Could you very please post 2 screenshots? One how looks homegrid with ads 1020x and one with regular post also in 1020x? Im sorry if that is already aviable, i cant find where to see how the 1020x looks…
And also could you please devote Your precious time and write about future of this theme? I mean, what do You and Your team plan to implement in it, do you plan to extend it? What is the final version? I ask because, myself with mu team ar investing time and our finances om building news/magazine project. When we look into future, our plan is to have about 5000 articles/news/posts within 2 year period – how this theme is going to handle it? Is there possibility that this theme will be ok and will be with enough feautures if for example You come to our site and it is easy enough to mavigate through it and read interview done 1year ago/2000 posts ago? I know it hard to answer in second, we are not in rush for 24h answer – with that i mean that take all necesery time needed if Your interested in answered more detailed. I am sure(i hope) we could do some custome deals later – i read through Your responses, i can see very deticated and hardworking team, but im interested in how you see this theme progress and how far for public, the basic subscription also.
Thanks. And please excuse my english and grammary. Im from iphone, but wanted to ask without delay while my mind is here on this theme and its future ideas.
Hey Niklavs91,
Thanks for the interest in 15Zine
The best way to see what 1020px looks like, is to resize your browser to something around 1020px -> 1200px wide, and you will see the 1020px version.
And I can’t really promise anything specific, as it’s never good to promise on things that haven’t happened, but the best thing I can say is that you look at the changelog of my previous big magazine theme (Valenti). It has been updated numerous times over almost 2 years, and has had hundreds of changes/improvements/bug fixes.
And the theme is written with best WordPress coding practises, which means that if your site can run on WordPress’ default theme after the 5000 articles, then it should also work on 15Zine
And if it helps you in any way, I just saw a very big website running 15Zine and they have around 750 pages of pagination with 6 posts in each one, so that’s at least 4500 posts published and it seems to works great.
And don’t be sorry about your English or grammar, it’s good and I understood you perfectly.
If you want to know anything else, do let me know
Cubell
Hi Cubell.
Please could you create a sidebar widget for account login / signup.
In my experience, the best way to grow a website, is to grow an online community that feels passionate about it.
I feel greater visibility of signing up, by having a sign up / login widget will help my website to grow better.
I’ve tried to create one myself, but I haven’t done a very good job because it doesn’t suit the look at feel of the website.
Is this something that you could include in a future update?
Let me know.
Thanks a lot
Hey Allsopp,
Hope you’re well! The login with Ajax plugin comes with a widget that the theme styles, have you checked it out?
Cubell
Hi Cubell.
Hope you’re having a good day.
Thanks a lot for getting back to me so soon, I really appreciate it!
I have put that plugin into the sidebar, but it doesn’t look very good.
It looks great when a user is logged in, but not so good when they’re logged out. The positioning of the form fields doesn’t look great and the buttons don’t suit the style of the theme.
Do you have any plans to build a sidebar widget that would suit 15Zine better?
Let me know mate.
Thanks a lot
Hey again,
I am having a good day thanks, hope you are too
Ah I didn’t realise the logged out version wasn’t styled properly! I will of course investigate why that is and fix it in a theme update. And it will be styled like the rest of the theme too
Cubell
