I’ve assigned the “Blog” page in the Reading tab for posts, but when I visit it – it shows only a featured slider I can’t change. I tried customizing the page, but it doesn’t respond. Am I missing something?

When you set a page as the latest posts (blog) on WordPress, that unofficially is the “WordPress homepage”, and it is controlled in the theme in Theme Options -> Homepage. The settings you have there will apply to that blog page.

I was looking in the code of the site I’m developing and found something odd. I’m using the Disqus comment system, which this theme is compatible with. In it I find the following code:
disqusIdentifier":"369 http:\/\/15zine.cubellthemes.com\/?p=369
If I’ve already defined my Disqus forum/shortname, why on a page of my site would a link for your site be in the code as the disqus identifier?
This needs to be fixed, because I’m having an issue getting the comment count to work, and this erroneous piece of code could be the culprit.
Also, when placing our Disqus shortname into Theme Options > Custom Code, on the homepage not all the comment counts show. Some show and some do not. When I say they do not, I mean there is no text or anything, just an empty gray div.
Here is a screenshot of what I’m referring to in the second message above. I’ve highlighted where the box doesn’t show any comment count, and also the code that shows that it should be there, but isn’t. About 3-4 items on the homepage appear this way, while others appear fine, as you can see with the one to it’s right.

That is really bizarre, but that code (disqusIdentifier) is 100% coming from the Disqus plugin, not the theme. As the theme does not have the theme demo URL coded anywhere in any shape or form (it would never have gotten approved on Themeforest if it did something like that).
Did you import the theme demo data in to your site? If so, then it must be something to do with that. Go to your Settings -> General, and check what the WordPress and Site Address (URL) are set to. I wonder if that changed when importing the demo dummy data.
The only place the theme uses the Disqus shortname for anything is to get the correct comments URL. Which I see from your other screenshot seems to have an issue. Does the post with the empty gray div have any Disqus comments? If it doesn’t, do you have your Disqus settings to say something for posts with 0 comments?

I have one idea that may be the issue, and you can tell me your thoughts. Yes, I did import the demo content, which also includes the menu items. Could it be because the menu items point to linked pages of your demo instead of to our sites?

I don’t think it is literally the menu items, as disqus plugin would get the URL of the site from somewhere like the Settings -> General info. Did you check there to see what it says?

That’s the thing. Why would I need to do those steps if I did everything right to begin with? Because this theme is supposed to work with Disqus perfectly out of the box. Correct? But, even with that, it is not Disqus that fills in those links I don’t think. If they did, it should not be placing your URL there.
Here is a screenshot of my code on the homepage. Your URL is highlighted in the code, and I’ve blurred out our site b/c it’s not public yet.
http://s13.postimg.org/57v7yn6k7/15zine_screen.gifAs I mentioned earlier, the theme does not set that DisqusIdentifier in any way, it is 100% created/set by the actual Disqus plugin. And the theme certainly does not put the theme demo URL anywhere in it. Why would a theme even want to do that?
Plus, many users use Disqus without any problems, so it is clear something buggy seems to have happened in the demo content import process on your site.
I had a look at Disqus plugin code and this is how they create the URLs (the one from your screenshot):

return $post->ID . ' ' . $post->guid;
}
As you can see, it returns the Post ID and the Post guid (post unique identifier) and that is how it is created. And WordPress Guid are set by WordPress, there is no theme input in any way.
Any way, the whole point is to get this fixed, try the steps on the URL I shared. Then if that doesn’t help, try going into your Settings -> Permalinks and change to a better structure as you seem to be using the default one which isn’t good and is known to also have bugs like this. Once you change structure and save, your site’s permalinks cache will be flushed. That might fix it.

We already established that the theme does not set this variable. I’m sensing that you’re a bit agitated by the tone of your remarks. No need for that. I am simply a customer who is presenting something to you that you may want to be made aware of.
While I’m glad that none of your customers have had any issue with Disqus, that has nothing to do with this. The code DOES NOT affect the functionality of the site, nor does it prevent Disqus from working properly. So that may be the reason no-one has said anything. This WILL NOT be discovered due to functionality, but ONLY by taking a look at the code. Perhaps I am the first to recognize it?
Furthermore, if this is caused by the import of the demo data, that does not rest on the customer, as I did not create the demo data, nor the theme. I simply followed instructions as given by your documentation.
Now that that is out of the way, let’s continue in a respectful manner. Believe me when I say that NO-ONE is frustrated or disgruntled on my end.
I have been in web development for 15 years and have used Disqus since 2009. I am not new to this, nor the inner-workings of it. I will continue to look further into what the issue may be, and perhaps your link may help, BUT from what I can tell, the link you gave does not necessarily provide the solution.
I promise you I am not agitated in any way, when there is a tricky situation that needs a lot of explanations to try to help it can seem that way, but I just try to answer everything as thoroughly as possible and I am only trying to help! The demo file also uses WordPress tools, and even though I can’t say for certain, during import/exports strange things can very rarely happen, and I think this is what has happened on your site. But definitely try the permalinks thing I mentioned too, as it may well be related! Once you change the permalinks, see if that fixes it. If not, install SEO by Yoast which automatically fixes/sets up permalinks issues on some sites too, so that might fix it too. Let me know if that helps!

Installed SEO by Yoast and configured it properly. The cubellthemes links still show up in the source code for data-dsqidentifier.
I did further research, and I found out that the post guid actually can’t be changed, it is something created when you create the actual post. Are you using 15Zine demo posts and simply changing their titles and content? If so, then that would all make sense and explain it. If you create a new post, then the guid would be your site’s URL. Let me know if that was it

I kind of figured that may have been the issue. No, I wasn’t changing the titles. The demo pages are being used as a reference for any future pages created to see how they were setup (then will be eventually deleted). Good to know. Thanks for following up on this. A sign a GREAT support sir.

Do you mean to make the sticky menu only visible when users scroll upwards? If so, the theme does have an option for that. Go to Theme Options -> Stickies, and set the sticky menu to only be visible “only when scrolling upwards”.

I had a look and it is due to an issue with your minifier plugin (Wp-rocket), as it is breaking your frontend’s Javascript! Try disabling it to test if it all works, if it does, you will need to check the settings of your plugin to make it all work.

Sure thing! Do you want to change the letter spacing of the main menu only? If so, copy/paste the following CSS code into your Theme Options -> Custom Code -> Custom CSS box:
@media only screen and (min-width: 1200px) {
#cb-nav-bar { font-size: 16px; letter-spacing: 2px; }
}
And adjust accordingly, this will affect the laptops/desktops, as smaller screens don’t have letter spacing on the menu and use a smaller font size (13px) already.

The best way to do that is to go to Appearance -> Menus, add the icons to the main navigation menu and in each menu item that you want to be where the trending is, give them all a class name, such as “icons-floated-right” then go to your Theme Options -> Custom Code -> Custom CSS and copy/paste this code:
.icons-floated-right { float: right; }
And every menu item with that class will now appear next to the trending menu item.
And regarding your second question, I don’t quite understand what you mean (Sorry!), could you elaborate a bit on what you mean please?
P.s. to give menu items special CSS classes, in Appearance -> Menus you need to click the “screen options” button on the top right of the screen and make sure “CSS classes” option is ticked.

And I’m afraid not, the module’s by lines were designed to be that way to avoid making the by line be extra long (multiple lines). The only way to change it would be to modify the code to change the behavior and styling of it, and for a customization of that level you would need to hire a developer to help you out with it. The shortcode text is appearing at the end of posts, instead of our ad.

First, you need to make sure you are running 15Zine v1.2.1, which includes the WooCommerce styling. After that, simply install the WooCommerce plugin and set it up as you normally would and the theme will automatically style it like seen in the demo.

Hi again! We have another little problem.
We set a custom colour for our links in the Theme Options, but on some pages they are the default colour (red) instead of our custom one.
For example:
-> The email address shown at http://riddlemagazine.com/contact/
-> The word ‘here’ in ‘Just click here’ at http://riddlemagazine.com/subscribe/
I can probably fix it quickly with a little custom CSS. But we’d like to know if we did something wrong to cause the link colour not to work here?

See the rectangle below the title? I haven’t removed the placeholder just deleted the photo that’s why it’s like this. At first I tried doing it in the theme options and then via the theme itself

Can the Search box be made so it searches the WooCommerce products?

I’m not sure that is a good idea, as WooCommerce products are a custom post type with special properties, so they will not output the same way they do in WooCommerce pages in the theme’s blog styles. The way to do it though to see how it works is to go to the Theme Options and add “product” to the Custom Code -> Custom Post Type Names option.

1) I just wanted to let you know that your sidebar widget is not responsive on a mobile device let’s say you have the phone (iPhone) upright when you first arrive at the website using your theme with a sidebar widget you created the one that moves up and down when you scroll (looking on a desktop). Well if you have the phone upright and then turn it side ways the sidebar widget is not responsive at all and the most popular post photos do not display right and take the full width on a phone when turned sideways. Same thing with the 15 zine facebook box I am guessing the sidebar widget is not responsive.
2) When you upload a YouTube video or make the YouTube video display instead of the featured image it does not display in a normal size like a YouTube video should instead it just displays the video really tall and doesn’t look right.
3) Also, When you insert a YouTube video into the article post depending on which YouTube video you use, it will not display right and again, display tall and weird. Example insert this YouTube video into an article post https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-hQE4jU76I and see what I mean it is not displaying the youtube video normal like a youtube video should be displayed.
4) How come when you have the option to not display feature images, the title text font displays differently then the one you had set for the website like inside the article post and on mobile devices?

1- The sidebar is definitely responsive, if something isn’t acting responsively, it would be the widget itself. Regarding the Facebook widget, all Facebook like boxes are iframes, which means that the code is all loaded from Facebook, and their like boxes aren’t responsive, they only take a single width value. The only way to force it to improve its responsiveness is by adding this custom CSS to your Theme Options -> custom Code -> Custom CSS box:
.fb-like-box * { max-width: 100%; }
Regarding the popular post, can you tell me exactly what you see for it on mobile that makes you say it isn’t right? The thumbnail image isn’t shown to ensure it looks good on all mobile devices, but aside from that it is responsive.
2- Can you share a relevant URL with an example of this? As that doesn’t sound right at all.
3- Same as number 2-, share a URL and I can take a look and investigate.
4- Please share a URL of a post where this happens too and one where it doesn’t, to better understand the issue and I’ll be able to investigate and see what is going on.
