Is there any regular page template? not a post, and not to be embed in homepage. For example, if in the homepage I have a service box and a link to a page with a full description. can it be done?

Is there any reason for why you don’t answer some questions right here in the comments? I’m having the same problems as some of the other buyers but I can’t read their solutions because… well. Offering email support is nice but it doesn’t really help if someone is searching for a quick solution.
Hello, Yeah there are lots of reasons. I tried doing most through this comment form, but it’s just too inconvenient. I get emails faster and It’s a pain to reply on this comment form from my phone if I’m away from the computer. It’s not easy typing code from iphone into this comment form.
Other reasons, if I need someones URL I’m not going to ask them to provide it in the comment form because they are most likely still building their site.
Email is just much better solution, for providing people with thorough details/instructions/etc. Not to mention easier for me to keep track of requests and bugs.

I have purchased the theme and I am attempting to upload it to a vanilla wordpress install on my GoDaddy host. It fails to install the theme with the following message:

Installing the theme…
The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

Hello, You need to unzip the file you downloaded from Themeforest, inside it is a zip file called ninezeroseven_v2.1.zip this is the file that you upload to your wordpress.

It’s probably me, I am am new to Wordpress & Themes (but a professional developer) but I cannot get this Parallax thing to work. What exactly have I bought here, it appears to be a css file (no offence intended) as Wordpress appear to do all the Parallax stuff not your Theme. Can you give me a rough pointer to make thing Parallax thing happen?
Yep, it definitely behaves just like a multi-page website; you click a menu link and it refreshes the page. Your demo shows a single page, parallax (even in IE). Please tell me the obvious setting I have missed?
Did you find the “Documentation” folder? Inside there open index.html and it gives you complete instructions on setting it up.
There is also “Sample Data” which if you import it your site will have the layout of my preview, this is a good starting point for most that want to get set up quick and edit from there.
I think the problem might be that I cannot add PAge Sections to the menu, the option is not there. I can add Pages but not Page Sections
On your Menu Page there is a button in the far right top corner that says “Screen Options” click that and put a check next to “Page Sections”

OK, a little bit confused with this parallax thing; in my site the parallax sections appear beneath whichever Page Section I associate them with but they go at the same speed so therefore just become filler. What am I missing? I presume from the default that I am meant to have one Parallax Section for each Page Section (apart from the last one, contact). I assign a backgound image to each Parallax. What else?
You can put content inside the parallax sections. They are set to move at the same speed, in a update I may include the option to make them faster or slower.
You can have as many page and parallax sections as you want.
No sure if that answers your question.
Well not really, sorry. In the wonderful Live Preview example you can clearly see that as you scroll down the Parallax Sections (the background images) move at a different speed to the foreground Page Section content. I presume that is the parallax effect? I am struggling to acheive this effect using the theme I have purchased from you. It is possible because your Live Preview show it to be so but in following the documentation; specifically loading the sample configuration and the sample data, this does not give me the parallax effect.

It would be nice to be able to set the parallax speed but ?I appreaciate that’s something for the future perhaps. I notice your background images are huge 1799×910 which I can do but if the resolution of the monitor is bigger than that you see a tiled image. Please can you tell me, the background image for the parallax sections is tiled; is there any way to to have an image in the centre?

I have it set so if the screen size is over 1800 the image “covers”.
If you want you can use the below.
1- Go to Theme Options > Styling Options scroll down to Custom CSS and add the below.

2- Save Theme Options

Also, please can you tell me why my custom gif logo looks like a dogs dinner? The theme seems to be taking my gif (transaparent backgound) and coinverting it into something else. If I browse to the image direct it’s fine. I can see the thumbnail, the “crunched” image, is a dogs dinner so what is going on here; is the logic if the image is biggerthan the place holder then show the thumbnail?
Also, please can you tell me how to change the font forecolor for the menu options?
You can change the font on Theme Options > Typography.
I wouldn’t know whats going on with the logo without seeing it.
You can change the font color on Theme Options > Styling Options.
Hello again. I guess what I was asking was this: there is a drop down list that allows you select from a lots of fonts. Where does this list come from? WordPress? How can I add a font to that list so I can select it?

That text is actually white inside the editor so can’t really see it. You can switch the editor to text more on the parallax section or do select all in the editor.. Once you change to different color you’ll see it fine.
OK going back to the FONT question: how do I add a custome font please? (if it’s a wordpress thing just tell me so).
You can use @font face as you normally would. Just put your font in a folder add it to your css.
There’s six different css files that come with the theme, which one is best?
You can put it in style.css so you can get to it from the WP editor if you’d like

You can translate with a program like Poedit .
In the Documentation folder that you downloaded from Themeforest, open the index.html file and there is info on translating and link to articles that provide more info on translating with Poedit.

Is there any chance I can limit the number of portfolios in the section or the blog section to have a limited number of rows? Lets say I wanted to post 1000 blog posts, how do I limit the number and have a ‘more’ button or something?

Hello,
You can go to Settings > Reading and change the number in “Blog pages show at most” for the amount of post shown.
As for the portfolio, there isn’t a way to limit this yet unless a file was edited in that case it wouldn’t show the rest or have links to the rest.
I know that page navigation has been a requested feature for the portfolio, so may try to include that in one of the updates.

You can edit the titles when creating page sections, just name it something different.

Nice theme. I want to know , currently, you have 6 pages (Home, Works, Services, Portfolio, Blog, Contact). If i want to edited out to 3 (Home, Portfolio, Contact) pages only, is it possible? And in your portfolio section, there’s only have 12 spots of pictures, can i add it up to (for example) 20-30 pictures?

You can have any amount of page sections naming them whatever you’d like. Same with portfolio, you can have as many as you want.
Ok, this sounds like a dumb question, but how do I update? Can you please talk me through it in simple steps. I am running V 1.3. Do not want to delete my current content or CSS.

If you are using full screen slider option, then you’d have to update that. Also if you want to use the page section sorter you’d have to update your menu for it to work, it’s really easy now though.
Everything else will not change as long as you didn’t edit the theme files.

Hi, my website is working ok but when I see it through my ipad, the first image expands a lot! Looks like you’re a couple versions behind on the theme updates. The Ipad issue was fixed in 2.0 for the parallax header option, you’re on version 1.3 . Current version available now is 2.1, you can look at the preview Here for changes made. And also find more details on the item description page for v2 features.

How can I get a “More” tab added to the copy under the portfolio and gallery images? I’d love for visitors to expand copy on their own without having to open the useless link button.
Hello, You can change the excerpt length for the portfolio in the theme options, and then hide the link button/page.
I did that, I see [...] at the end of the except but it doesn’t provide a “more” link or any way to read the rest of the copy?

Expanding within the box would be perfect. Right on the gallery page under the thumbnail. A more and then a less to collapse after it’s been read. Also, where in the style.css can I adjust the amount of space between the gallery images on the main page? I would greatly prefer if they were much closer together. You’ve been incredibly helpful, I really appreciate it!

I’ll have to think about a way to do that if it’s going to get added. I added the separate pages for portfolio/works and made it optional cause it seems what most wanted.

When I am adding media to the portfolio is there a way I can get all of the images to remain the same size on the page even though the photos are actually different sizes?
Currently in my portfolio section, the images are scattered all over the place… I just want them side by side, neatly ordered.

All the images should be the same size. If you are using images from a previous upload when the theme wasn’t activated, then you’ll need to re-upload them or get this plugin : Regenerate Thumbnails.
You can control the excerpt lengths by going to Theme Options > Portfolio Options and setting a different length in the “Excerpt Length” field. This will help with getting your portfolio section.

Interested in purchasing this theme. However, the only thing not covered in the demo site are dropdowns off the main navigation. Does the theme support this? It would be good to see the style/effect of the dropdowns in the demo. Cheers, Mike

I attached the same parallax to every page section, but only the first parallax is “scrolling” all of the others are not moving, they are fixed..I am sure I missed something basic here.
