I don’t know any coding whatsoever. How is a person like me supposed to use this template? Is it easy to navigate? Thanks!

Captiva comes with Visual Composer which makes it really easy for people with little or no coding ability to create lots of different kinds of layouts in minutes. Nearly every page you see on our demo including all the different homepages are built using Visual Composer.

There also lot of theme options to allow you to change color, typography, imagery etc. without any coding whatsoever.

You can safely ignore both of these messages. The next update to the theme will hide them. We have licensed both plugins for the Captiva theme so you don’t need separate license keys.

No problem, you can set up an ad box with a ‘Captiva Content Strip’ shortcode.

To get the content looking the same we used a h4 and a button shortcode in the content area.

Hi. Just bought the theme. I see that the logo is not displayed in Firefox, but in Chrome and Explorer the logo is displayed. Here is my site: blaseinstrumenter.no

That’s a strange one as I can see the logo on this link: http://www.blaseinstrumenter.no/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Logo-1_800x100.png

Perhaps try these steps:

  • Update to the latest version of FF and clear the cache
  • Rename the file to something simpler, e.g. ‘logo.png’
  • Try saving it again in Photoshop

Hi. I forgot that i had adblock plus active on firefox. Once i deactivated adblock, the logo was displayed. But it’s a bit strange that adblock blocks the logo image and not the other images…

Any way to make adblock not think my logo is an ad?

I imagine it’s to do with how the file is named. The _800×100 might be misinterpreted as a banner ad. Perhaps try renaming the file to something simpler and see if it still happens.

I researched this message, and in the forum it said that “This is almost always a setting in the php.ini file” and to ask the theme author for help.

Hi,

I am having trouble with LayerSlider. When i import the .json file from the Captiva Package folder like the tutorial video says, i only get one slider that pops up and when i refresh the website, it doesn’t pop up on the home page. Still says:

[LayerSliderWP] Slider not found

How can I turn off SKU from showing up on my individual product pages?

Hello!

First I’d recommend you update Captiva to version 1.2 (video tutorial is in the post above)

Then, in Custom Code under Captiva Theme Options, add this line:
.sku_wrapper { display: none; }

That should hide the SKU.

We’ve added it to a future release to include a toggle in the theme options.

Hi there. This theme looks great. A couple questions: I saw some other comments about the page load time, and I noticed that it’s still fairly slow. Other WooCommerce theme demos seem much faster. It seems like your demo has a ton of images/content on each page. My questions are: 1. if I get your theme and am not loading as much content on the pages, will the page load time get measurably faster?

2. Does the double helix pre-loader animation always appear every time a user switches pages? Or, is there ever a time when the page would load instantly, and therefor there would be no need for the pre-loader?The double helix is cool, but I’m afraid visitors to my site will click away if they have to wait too long. Thanks!

See how the main image (iphones) floats above the background, and when you move the browser in to the mobile dimensions the image bumps up top AND gets resized larger? Can I do this with your theme? Thanks again!

Yes, that’s straight forward with Visual Composer. You can create a row (with a background image for example) and break it into two columns.

On mobile the columns collapse and the image will appear larger.

In trying to use “Brainstorm Force”, I’m asked to register and enter purchase code for Ultimate Addons for Visual Composer. When I go to my downloads, all I have is the Captiva Theme and LayerSlider WP listed. Is this not included in Captiva? Where can I find my purchase code if not in “downloads”?

You can just dismiss and ignore this prompt. The Ultimate Addons plugin is included with Captiva and is licensed correctly. The plugin is installed just after the theme activation process and is fully usable despite this prompt looking for a purchase code.

We’ll reach out to Brainstorm Force and see if there’s a way to have this prompt to permanently be removed.

A week ago you told me the speed issues would be addressed with an update. Here it says the latest update was today Aug 4. How do we download/install it? I see no links to it. WP Admin Theme has no notice that there is an update available. We are suffering from slow page loading and product transitions which is simply not going to work for an ecommerce site. I see that your demo loads much faster today than our site does as we are still running the first version of this theme. Thanks!

Apologies the release took longer than expected to release live.

Did you setup the Envato toolkit plugin with your themeforest credentials? If you did you’ll be able to update instantly via that plugin.

Here’s a simple guide as to how to setup the Envato plugin

You don’t need to install the plugin if you installed it during the initial theme install (you would have been prompted to do this).

Just follow the steps about how to generate an API key and how to configure it. You should be able to update automatically once you have this setup.

Is there a way to display the product image above the title/price/add to cart button? I am attempting to integrate a custom product designer (http://fancyproductdesigner.com/product/t-shirt/) and am having issues because the designer actually replaces the product image.

The good news is that the flow of the product details page has the product image appearing above the title, price etc. it’s just floated to the left in the theme.

Can you send me an example of how this plugin is working on your site with Captiva to support@commercegurus.com and we’ll see if there’s something that can be done to make it work for you.

I had a bit of an issue with my site and they went literally the extra mile to make sure it was working for me. They coded and restructured my issue and made it work perfectly! Communication was direct, to the point and timely. I could not recommend this template high enough!

I am not sure how to change it to say “purchased”

is it possible to change the size/proportions of the images on the product detail pages (woo commerce).

For most of our products, the images we have are almost square so I’m not sure if that would work well with this theme.

Yes, it’s absolutely possible to change the thumbnail dimensions to be almost square and the theme works quite well with that type of image aswell :)

I can confirm I am getting the same issue with a very slow backend and connection loss, not sure what is going on. It’s not my connection either as other pages and sites on my server load fast. Very weird.
