Hello! – Loving the theme – wanted to check in though because its quite slow on the front-end and backend admin – editing pages, opening settings etc… i know this can have something to do with the server but is there any thing i can do to speed things up – finding it more and more hard to work on… Thanks!
Hi Chris
Thanks for getting in touch! Could you send on your WP Login details and site to support@commercegurus.com and we’ll take a look.
Thank you!
Simon
Hi Loving the look of your new theme!! I was wondering if you could answer a few pre-sales questions?
With your online store – is it possible to customise colours? Client usually need colouring to be adaptable to suite their branding – could you provide some details about this?
Also would you mind just advising what version of layer Slider your using? And also visual composer? I have recently purchase themes which don’t provide up to date plugins and wanted to double check? If you could assist that would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
Hi there genuscreative,
thanks for getting in touch!
Re: customise colors – yes this possible via our theme options control panel. Skip to around the 5 minute mark here in this video for an overview
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEAuwHaQipsRe: Layer Slider version: 5.1.1 Re: Visual Composer version: 4.2.3
Both of these are very recent (about 4 weeks old) and we plan to do updates to both of them later this week – we held off updating both these past few weeks as both released big updates which had issues which are only settling down now.
If you’ve any more questions just let me know!
Colm
Thanks so much for your timely response. I will review and let you know if I have any other questions. Cheers
Great Theme & Excellent Support!
I sent an email and they resolved it within a few hours!
Hi there Jsb828Be,
thanks for the kind words
Colm
How can i add a custom payment option/ gateway/ image in the footer, next to the other credit cards? Right now i can only choose the 4 that are available in ‘woo commerce general settings’, but i would like to add some.
Hi there,
At the moment it’s not possible to add a custom image yet. It’s on our roadmap for a future release.
Which payment option do you want to add? We’ll add it to our list

Hi,
Just bought the theme and started playing with it look great btw!. The shop is for a a/v equipment and I need to show the custom product attributes on a tab, lets say Tech Specs showing the list of specs.
I’ve been looking at the Woocommerce product details menu on the theme options panel but couldn’t find how to enable this.
Can you help?
Thanks
David
Hi David!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
The easiest way to add custom attributes would be to go to a product then then under ‘Product Data’ select ‘Attributes’.
Anything you add in this area would be visible under the ‘Additional Information’ Tab on the front, e.g.
http://captivatheme1.commercegurus.com/product/helena-runway/You could add as many tech specs as you like, in the example above we’ve just created a ‘Size’ attribute.
Hope that helps and any other questions just ask!
Simon
Hi Simon,
Thanks for the swift reply, apparently was an issue with my install, ) tried few themes before with the same install, started from fresh updated the theme to ver 1.4 and works like a charm.
Thanks
Hi,
I’ve uploaded an image to my product category as I would like it show at the top of the page like in your preview. However the image isn’t showing, is there another option I have to select somewhere else?
Regards,
Ash
Hi there Ash,
I just sent you an email to confirm I fixed this for you.

Hi Team,
I am trying to activate the visual composer so i can update it. Can you please advise if this is even possible? Or can someone send me an updated version of visual composer as i am having issues seeing some things.
Regards,
Michael
Hi,
I am also having issues, when following your instructions to adding a page banner no full width banner displays.
Hi,
This only occurs as soon as i change the page to full width template.
Hi there Michael,
We currently support version 4.2.3 of Visual Composer specifically. If you send me an email to support@commercegurus.com with details of your 2 issues along with your WP login details I’ll take a look asap.

How do I get the mobile drop-down menu to show? When I click the menu on mobile, it turns into an X, but no menu appears.
Thanks,

Hi there pathtec,
I think I know what this issue is – if you send me your WP login to support@commercegurus.com and I’ll take a look asap.

2 Quick questions,
1) After installing and importing the demo data the category banners did not import and under the Product->Category section in the admin there is no field for the “Product Category banner” as the documentation says.
2) I cant update or activate the “Visual Composer” asks for an activation key, but I only got a key for the theme itself
Using version 1.3 with an empty child theme (for eventual page layout changes)
Thanks!
Hi there Rippleguy,
Thanks for getting in touch!
It looks like the xml import didn’t bring in those custom field groups for you for some reason. If you send me your WP login details to support@commercegurus.com I’ll sort out the category banner field for you.
re: Visual Composer activation message – you can safely ignore and dismiss this – we have licensed the plugin on your behalf – we’re looking into removing this activation message in a future release.

How do I remove the period after the SKU number?
Hi there,
thanks for getting in touch!
This is set in /wp-content/themes/captiva/woocommerce/single-product/meta.php
line 26
<span class="sku_wrapper"><?php _e( 'SKU:', 'woocommerce' ); ?> <span class="sku" itemprop="sku"><?php echo ( $sku = $product->get_sku() ) ? $sku : __( 'N/A', 'woocommerce' ); ?></span>.</span>
You can remove the last period as you require – but I would advise doing that within a child theme so you can keep the main theme up to date with future product releases.

I don’t understand how works the translation: I have most of my shop who is in french but some parts are still in english. For ex., the basket, checkout, viewcart etc.. . I tried to create a .po & .mo file in the folder wp-content/themes/captiva/languages with some traduction but nothing change. Can you help me ?
Hi there tdt34,
thanks for getting in touch!
Some parts of the theme will actually depend on WooCommerce translations rather than the theme itself. Have you already translated Captiva’s language strings? If so, you’re probably missing some WooCommerce strings – if you send me an example of your site I and your control panel and WP logins to support@commercegurus.com I can take a look for you.

i realize that i have different pages: for ex one from my native wwocmmerce “boutique” & one from captiva theme “shop”. Same thing for “My account” & “mon compte” in french. So i have 2 pages for the same thing. How keep the french version & the captiva theme (for ex the mega menu with “shop” ?
Hi there,
I don’t fully understand your question. Can you send me more details to support@commercegurus.com with some screenshots and your WP Login details and advise you from there.

ok, i resolved my problem with the .mo & .po files
Excellent!

Hi, quick questions!
Can I choose not to show selected categories from the widget in the sidebar?
Does the theme have or support unlimited sidebars?
Thanks!
Hi there rdavenport,
thanks for your interest in Captiva!
Re: selected categories – if you use the main WooCommerce product categories widget you would need some simple php to exclude specific categories which we can provide to you.
Yes, we have unlimited sidebars
Hope this helps,
Colm
Is it possible to use this theme for a catalog to view products only? I want customers to be able to view products and item #, but not be able to place an ecommerce order.
Thanks,
Kevin
Hi Kevin,
Thanks for getting in touch!
Yes! This is known as Catalog mode and we have this built into the theme as a theme option.
Hope this helps!

How to you decrease the font size for the title of the “single image-simple image with CSS animation” element? It’s way to big and I’ve tried several different “extra class name” with “font-size:25%;”. I’m pretty sure I’m not in the correct place to do this; tried entering in the classic mode area too. Didn’t work. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi Stacy,
Can you send me a screenshot of the specific font you’re trying to change to support@commercegurus.com and I’ll advise you asap!

Still Extremely slow using the backend with this theme ( its the plugins that come with this theme i believe )
I have the some of the fastest internet in the world too!..
really needs to be improved.. great theme otherwise but a nightmare to use
Hi medi8tor,
Nice to hear from you!
When we were last emailing each other over a week ago I think we had sped up your backend a good bit by disabling the Envato toolkit plugin – are you still seeing issues? I can take a look at your backend again if the details you previously sent me are still valid? As you said, the issues are the plugins – not the theme itself – which has been tested to ensure it is super fast!
I’m more than happy to take a look at this again for you so we can see which plugin is causing your issue.
Best,
Colm
Yes you have been great help thanks, Sorry its just been slow in backend, with the visual builder!. I have actually now enabled varnish cache and memCache and its much better… thanks.. your theme is great
Hi there,
Yeah Visual Composer (particularly the frontend editor) can be slow on some servers. Ah yes you’re with Siteground who offer Varnish and memCache so that should help you – glad to hear that
Take care

How do I show only an excerpt of a post on the blog page? At present it is showing the entire article.
Hi there,
The easiest way to do this is to actually use the more tag which allows you to control the more break within the main blog post itself rather than having to use the excerpt box.
Full details here
http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/You could also modify content.php via a child theme to output the excerpt instead but the more tag as described above has pretty much become the defacto standard for doing this.
Best,
Colm
Thank Colm, that worked a treat!
Great
Hello, I have a problem. My website won’t save settings in the widget YITH WooCommerce Ajax Navigation Fliter by Color. When I setup a color its not saved. Same goes for Filter by size.
Hi there cu3edesign,
Thanks for getting in touch!
This sounds like a javascript conflict with some other plugin.
If you send me your WP login details to support@commercegurus.com I’ll take a look asap for you.

hi there Apologies if this has been asked already – its in relation to Visual Composer It is telling me to activate my copy to receive updates and when i jump through the hoops to do so it tells me: “Your license key is already activated on another website (www***dev), you should deactivate it first or obtain new license key.”
Can you sehd some light on this for me, please? many thanks
Hi there littleimp,
Thanks for getting in touch!
You can safely ignore this nag – we have licensed Visual Composer on your behalf for use with the Captiva theme. In a future update we’ll be looking into removing the nag completely.
Best,
Colm
cool, thanks a million for that
One more question for ya – in your example on Theme Forest there is a home page called ‘CORPORATE’, however this is not in the page lists when you import the demo.xml??
Hi littleimp,
It’s a new one
Shoot me an email to support@commercegurus.com and I’ll send you a copy of the markup for that page.
Best,
Colm
yer a star, thank you!
Hey Colm
Just getting around to that site today and wanted to say thank you for your help and fix!

you are most welcome
Wow…what a great theme…thank you!
Everything seems to be quite user friendly and detailed…impressive.
I’m struggling with my cart and how to add items. I’m selling Boxes of truffles, where people can choose their flavors. Can you guide my pathway on how I can get this built into a page/cart vs just a simple +1 and checkout.
Thank you for your assistance in advance!
Hello!
Thank you so much for your kind words! If I understand correctly each box of truffles will have different flavors? Then, I think product variations is what you need. Here is a nice video and tutorial explaining how they work in WooCommerce:
http://docs.woothemes.com/document/product-variations/Remember to add a price for each variation otherwise they won’t show up.
Hope that helps, and any other questions just ask!
Simon
Quickest response ever..thank you! I actually perused the site, and found out how to do a Grouped Variation, which is what will work for creating a variety of flavors for the customer. Thanks again Simon!
Yikes…I spoke too soon. I have 4 different types of boxes (box of 4/8/15/30) with 10 different flavors to choose; therefore the variants are a nightmare. I’m wondering if it’s the Composite Products Extension I need? Thanks for your assistance!
Hi there!
Could you explain a little more about how you sell your truffles? For example if you sell based on flavor you could have:
- Chocolate (variable product)
—Box of 4
—Box of 8
—Box of 15
—Box of 30
If you sell that way then it’d be pretty easy to set up based on the video in the link above. Instead of sizes (small, medium, large) you’d have box of 4, box of 8 etc.
But I suspect that you’d like a visitor to be able to select their own flavors in a box of 4 for example?
If that’s the case then the Composite Products extension might be the way to go. I’d send them a mail first with an example of the logic you require before buying just to be sure.
Best,
Simon
Thank you for your help Simon! I ended up setting up as you suggested, than gave additional options at the CheckOut.
I found the WooCommerce Table Rate Shipping to be a great addition to figuring out complex shipping which I found here on ThemeForest.
Website looks great, but I have an issue and cannot find an answer. When I post the website’s link…the following is the link which displays: jQuery.mmenu demo. Ive checked the General Settings, and the domain is correct. Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance
Hi!
Glad you got that sorted! I’m confused by the link question, so you can’t copy and paste the website address? Could you send a screenshot or something to support@commercegurus.com which might explain it better?
Simon
how / where do I place a meta tag for google webmaster tools?
Hi there Stacy,
I use the WordPress SEO plugin for this. There is a section in there for Webmaster tools.
