Hello – I really like your theme!! Thanks so much in advance for your assistance.
Here is what is going on: http://dev.erotic-desires.com.au/about-us/
You will see the parallax background image I put in for ONE row is taking up the entire pages background. Why is this?
Also – do you not have a call to action with a button?
Thanks so much!!!
Desiree
Hi Desiree!
Firstly, we’ll take a look at your parallax issue and get right back to you.
For a call to action you could use a nice image with button style: http://captivathemedemo.commercegurus.com/shortcodes/ad-banners/ Or this message with a button to the right: http://captivathemedemo.commercegurus.com/shortcodes/message-boxes/(You can change the background and button colors to whatever you like)
We’re so glad you like the theme
Hello again Desiree!
Here are the step by step instructions to add a parallax image. On the about page:
- Click ‘Add Row’.
- Click the little pencil beside the row and make sure ‘Full Page Width – no container’ is selected under ‘Type’
- Click the little ’+’ within the row and select ‘Captiva Content strip’ (it’s under the Captiva shortcodes heading)
- For ‘Captiva Strip height’ type: 500px
- Add some content and a button shortcode*
- Under ‘content strip background image’ upload one!
- Choose Parallax under ‘type of background’
Hopefully that works, if there’s anything else please ask!
* An example button shortcode could be:[vc_button title="Find out more" target="_self" color="wpb_button" icon="none" size="wpb_regularsize" href="#" el_class="black"]
Well, I’m confused now…..I just want to add the parallax image as the background on the very first row. Then place a heading or text bloack or something with:
About Us Welcome to Erotic Desires
With the parallax behind the text on just that first, one row…..
I already figured out the message box and changed from a content strip to a message box
Hi Desiree
I made a quick example based on the instructions above to demonstrate. Is this what you need? http://captivathemedemo.commercegurus.com/content-strips-redux/(The top one)
If you’d like you can also email support@commercegurus.com and we’ll provide more assistance!
That’s exactly what I need. If I provide login info to the email above can you go right in and fix that real quick please? Your support is super fast and I REALLY appreciate that! 5 STARS!!!! I have rated you….thanks.
Thank you so much for the rating Desiree!
If you check your about us page you should be good now, you just need to change the text to whatever you want
OH – I see what you did. I’m just so used to authors doing the parallax image via the edit option of the row itself. OK, thanks a bunch!! And you are welcome for the rating, well deserved!
need your help again pls, I put two captiva strips under the slider on the back end but they aren’t showing up on the front end. Why would that be?
Hi Desiree
No problem, we’ll take a look for you. Is this on the homepage?
We fixed the issue for you! You just need to add ‘px’ after the value.
We’ll add a comment to make this more clear in the next release
THANK YOU
Why is the text on this so transparent and not white?
Hi Desiree
Having ‘text fade out on scroll’ selected and ‘parallax’ rather than a ‘simple background’ would cause this.
The first image is fixed now using these settings. If it’s suitable you can duplicate and use it on the other feature
ok thank you very much for all your help
Welcome.
Thank you Granth!
European quality, where are you from?
Thank you! We’re in Ireland! Budapest is one of my favourite cities, fantastic people
Thanks Mate.
Congrats!
Thanks ThemeRox!
Scrolling up and down in the demo causes the header to go completely black. The menu bar disappears I am using the latest version of Chrome. I tried removing the bar at the top and its the same issue scrolling up and down and I do agree the website loads pretty slow but I do love the design it would fit a project I am working on right now if the black header issue can be looked into.
Thanks
Brad
Hi Brad
We can’t reproduce this black header issue when we scroll up and down! Would you mind telling us what version of Chrome you use? In our Chrome version 36 everything is good
I see what the issue was its the slider one of the animations caused the issue I actually noticed this same issue on one of my own sites with the slider. Its not an issue, the site looks great.
Excellent, thanks so much Brad!
nice theme gud luck
Thanks AliA
One of the best shop designs! Add great support, update regularly and it will be a top seller.
Thanks, Bernhard
Thanks Bernhard – we’ll be on hand with great support and regular updates – lots more planned for Captiva to come soon
Just to let you know: There is a problem with the settings changer in your demo e.g. switching to Catalog Mode doesn’t change anything here.
Hey hiegl,
thanks for the heads up! all fixed now – our caching layer was preventing the customizer from showing preview preferences.
Thanks!
Colm
Thanks! I am a little concerned about page speed of such a complex theme. Google PageSpeed shows quite bad results for your demo. Anyway, this might be due to Woo itself!?
Hey there yes speed can be a bit of an issue with a complex theme when there’s so much going on. Some of this is due to both WordPress and WooCommerce but some of it is also the fact that we’re getting a lot of traffic right now today as we’re a new theme
We’re going to be making some tweaks to further improve load times in the next few days so that we’ll be amongst the fastest loading WooCommerce themes
Thanks again for your input – we really value your comments hiegl
