My latest [hopefully final!] question:
Implementing a custom font [compared to a regular website] is:
a) Easy, just stick it at the end of bootstrap.css! b) A little more complicated, but nothing too bad. c) Worse than childbirth.
It’s not vital I use a different webfont – it’d be nice but I’m doing this as a volunteer project for a group, not too pushed. Thanks!

We’re periodically updating the template with more elements inside the builder from the template. In the 1.6 update (coming in the next 2 days) you’ll see new elements pop up. Just filter by ‘new’ in the sidebar when the update goes live
! query – I am a pivot user since the last 6 months from my other account [kavi rajanr] , now i want to ask if i can use your foundry editor and add my own elements in it and give online access to my end users. I wont be distributing or reselling it. I will just give only access so they can edit things at their end instead of disturbing me.. Is it ok ??

You are free to edit the builder.html to do whatever you like for your clients, however the one main rule applies: Any website that uses the design needs a license purchased.
Sorry, but at this time we do not have any plans to release an unminified version of Variant.

Actually i am not giving them the builder.html, i have added my own elements and made builder.php of the editor and hosted on my hosting. Neither i am giving them any code, nor distributing, they can simply come to my site to generate pages. Do i still need to get 1 licence per domain where actually i have hosted it in 1 domain ?
Any site generated that uses Foundry requires a license of its own. All of your customers are getting a solution for themselves. If the solution involves foundry, then they require a license. Each customer’s site is still considered an “Single End Product” and even if the builder.php hosted on your domain and your customers generate pages (and they don’t take code away) they are still making use of a copy of the foundry design, so you will need to purchase a license for each customer.

We will be adding the carousel component from home-app-landing.html into the next update. At this time, due to CSS differences, it is not possible to mix and match parts from other templates with Foundry.

We’ve integrated better maps control through the Google Maps API so you can now style your maps, and add multiple map markers simply by providing addresses and set the zoom level all in real-time within Variant.

Hi I was wondering if you could give me the location where you bought all the images for found (like the iPhone etc) so I can can make customised ones.

I bought this template and uploaded all into my howting. I have one problem, actually two:
1. Importing new images I get a box with a message saying I need to manually import the image into my img folder and refresh clicking the same message box in order to actually see the imported image. if this works that way shy do I need to import the image from the variant builder? Am I making some mistake? Am I missing some passage like granting some permissions by editing some file?
2. Saving and importing new pages… where does the builder actually save the new page? Because that appears nowhere in my website main folder. And which form should be the file I can import? Html? Or, like seems to be, a zipped file which anyway doesn’t seem to work?
I hope you can help me to solve that.

To address your question about importing images: Firstly it is best if you are using Variant locally on your own machine, not uploading the builder to a server as there are some loading delays from a server that may cause the image loader exhibit this behaviour. The reason you need to put the image into the image folder manually is because apps like Variant running locally do not have access to write into the local filesystem, so we cannot copy the image in there for you, we need you to copy it in then select it so that Variant knows what the image filenames are and can then attempt to load them from the /img folder. So, make sure you are loading the image into the Foundry/img folder not the Foundry/variant/img folder. Also, you may need to be running Variant in a folder unzipped on your desktop or from your Documents or Downloads folder, because some operating systems may stop browsers from accessing images elsewhere.
When Variant saves a page internally, it is saved in Browser Storage. Which is similar to storing in cookies, but allows larger space. When you export a .variant file (all pages, navs and footers) it is downloaded automatically to your default downloads folder. These .variant files can be imported and edited again later. When you export .html, it is a one-way street and html cannot be re-imported back into Variant for editing.

Just curious, but is there any reason why you DID NOT include some of the elements that is shown in your inner pages and utility pages in Variant’s Blocks? Also it would be really nice to see in your update a tertiary background to match the theme color or just have your dark-bg be the color of the theme. This is an awesome page builder with a lot of potential.

We haven’t got every element into the builder yet because with some blocks, we’re still perfecting how they should be managed in the builder environment. This means we’ll be updating the theme periodically when we do.
As for backgrounds, you can switch a dark background on for most blocks, but if I understand correctly, you mean a ‘global’ background option for the entire page?

I really love your guys products – Am I able to buy multiple products and mix them in variant ? meaning this one and then the pangea etc ? and use different blocks in the builder from either – if not , my next question would be, can I switch out different blocks in the builder (variant) or is each builder tied to that template? thanks! and great work

Unfortunately there is no support for mixing and matching templates. This is partly due to how our code and builder have progressed, keeping all templates switchable is not feasable, for example, Pangaea was built on ZURB’s Foundation, while Foundry (and all templates newer than Attica) are built on Bootstrap.

I bought your theme and I try to configure it to have the same home page as in your “Restaurant” version but I can’t figure out how I can have the same nice gallery as you on this page… The Gallery object doesn’t allow me to have that nice grid with all thumbnails that link to the actual gallery…
How can we achieve this?

That gallery on the restaurant page is actually an Instagram feed, but you could put the ‘lightbox’ gallery in there instead. If you’re having trouble with this you can open a ticket at mediumrare.ticksy.com and we can take a look.

In mobile devices parallax image becomes fixed, that’s fine. But when you make the browser smaller the parallax does not work well.
Ah I see what you mean. We will correct the script so that the parallax function doesn’t exhibit on mobile sized, desktop browsers. Currently we’re just targetting the mobile device itself.

Hey there,
You’re right, as this is an HTML template, the shop layouts are purely for illustrative purposes and developers who want that functionality will build it into their desired e-commerce platform. I’m no e-commerce expert so I don’t feel 100% qualified to advise you on this, but there IS a WordPress version of Foundry that will be released in the near future with Woo Commerce support, so you might choose to wait for that.
