Unfortunately not, the best way to do this is in the HTML – we are working to improve the builder to edit elements like the timeline.

may sound like a stupid question…how do i install the builder on my web server and set configuration? I created and placed all files in a subdomain on my server, but it appears the path to css and images is not correct. Where do i update paths
Hi, Variant is designed to run locally on your computer rather than on a server. All you need to do is unzip the files from the download package and open builder.html in your favourite browser. Avoid Safari though, as it does not offer the option to download your resulting HTML files directly from the browser – Chrome and Firefox are recommended.

How do I access the page builder? I was building my template then clicked buy and it took me to Themeforest where it downloaded the entire zip, but I dont see the template I created using the page builder.

If you need blog functionality you might be better to consider the WordPress version as it features a fully functioning blog (in HTML, the blog is only illustrative).

How difficult is it to combine the Foundry and Machine themes? There are a few modules, elements, and design that I’d love to parse from Foundry to Machine. Any sense of how difficult this might be? Thanks!

We don’t recommend mixing and matching elements as the CSS for the templates is different and this can produce wonky / unpredictable results. We are working toward an approach that would allow this type of cross use but at this stage, it is not recommended.

Yes this is possible as long as your place your fonts files (otf,ttf etc) inside the font directory, then refer to them in the CSS file.

You can do this in your custom.css file (just at the top) which is already included in the HTML, so no need to add anything extra there.) Your url for the source will likely be (’../fonts/WeFont.eof’) if you have the fonts placed in the ‘fonts’ folder

Another last question : Is it possible to deactivate the animation effect on the photos of the agency template? I would like to have a fixed photo without movement. Now the photos seem to have a zoom effect. Can I remove it in the html file or/and ccs file?
You can do that by adding this custom.css:

Hi- Pre-sales Q. Do I have to know a lot about HTML to use this? I know a little, but every other theme I’ve used was a Wordpress theme. i love the Machine theme though and want to use. I’d rather not pay for a developer if I don’t have to. I was playing around with page builder, seems pretty cool. Would I be ok just using that?
Anything you can make in the builder on our demo site will be dead easy to upload and publish. If you are happy with what the builder offers then you will need no HTML knowledge. If you wanted to make changes from the generated page you would need to delve into HTML. All the scripts and styles are already in place and set up so that if you output a page straight from Variant, everything on that page will work straight away.

Thanks for responding. I was playing around with the page builder and it seems pretty easy to use. As far as uploading theme, does it work similar to a WP theme?
Hey Mike,
To upload the template – you’ll need an FTP client which you can use to drop all files onto your server. That’s basically it for ‘installing’ the template as it will appear immediately (showing the index.html page as the homepage) once you upload it

Hi guys, I was wondering: a few months ago I contacted support for the parallax/chrome-bug via Ticksy (ticket #387466). It is saying the bug is solved and my ticket is closed, but i’m still experiencing a choppy parallax effect. I also downloaded the new updated package, but the problem still remains. An update to Machine will be released soon with the new parallax script (as seen in Launchkit and Foundry) included. That should hopefully address your issues.

I am really interested in buying your project, but I use the mouse wheel for my browsing and the page scrolls toooo fast. I tested it in a different computer, and it scrolls fine. Because I want all people to have the same behaviour, is there an option to “handle” this?
