First I just wanted to say, that this, as well as the wordpress theme, is outstanding, it’s as pure as it’s elegant, and that’s rare.
So it deserves a five star 
I just wanted to know if there was a possibility to get modals with it ?
It might be the solution for an ongoing project I have, rather than just making a new page.

As far as modals go, Machine is built on the Bootstrap framework, so you can definitely take advantage of the Bootstrap modals in your designs. Full documentation for the modals is here : http://getbootstrap.com/javascript/#modals

Hi, I realised the wordpress version and this HTML version has some differences on the header menu.
In HTML version, at the child dropdown menu on the header, the width of the parent expands to fit the width of the child dropdown menu. But in the wordpress version, the header menu doesn’t resize for every dropdown menu.
Will you be fixing this HTML version to reflect the same effect as the wordpress version?

I was trying out your demo and found that the right click (I’m on a mac, so we use Control-click) isn’t working in Chrome. Is this is a known issue? Basically, the contextual menu appears and disappears again. If I force it to remain by keeping Control-click down, I cannot choose the elements the menu contains. Firefox seems fine, however.
Hi, we’ve found that right-clicking using the “Secondary click” (either bottom-right of the trackpad or two-finger click) works fine on all. These can be activated in system preferences->trackpad.

One additional question: Can more than one of your templates be imported into the Variant Builder? Say I purchased Pivot and Machine, for example. Could I used elements of both to build my site?
Sorry, no – each one is sold as an individual product, and CSS/HTML improvements over time mean that they are too different to allow interoperability, also licensing would be tricky.
Will this be updated to the new version of Variant that you’re using on Pivot?

When I inset the embed code for vimeo, it will show for a short while, and then revert to the original placeholder for vimeo. This has repeated a couple times. I’m not quite sure what I’m doing wrong. Any help would be much appreciated! (:

Out of interest if there are a few different elements we are after from Pivot and Machine – if we buy both is the code transferable or is it going to require tweaks? i.e. can we just copy/paste blocks from one to another (and potentially CSS rules)?
Would you take on freelance work to add 2 or 3 blocks from Pivot to variant here or vice versa?

At the moment, mixing components between templates isn’t supported but, as you described is possible by grabbing the relevant block of HTML (and any corresponding CSS rules).
To be honest, I’d be more inclined to simply remake the blocks in HTML for Machine to mirror the Pivot element. Which blocks were you referring to specifically?
p.s We’ve got some exciting new items launching soon, some micro-niche stuff and also something a little ‘bigger’

Love the templates and the tool. Any tips on adding tabbed content to the pages? (Sub pages in a one-page format, if that makes sense!)
I see other templates have tabbed content, would I need to purchase one of those?

We don’t have any tabbed content blocks in Machine, so that would need to be added separately.
You could also use the standard bootstrap tabs (machine is based on bootstrap). Instructions for use are here: http://getbootstrap.com/javascript/#tabs

Buggy. The problems are so significant that I can’t build a website in either browser, Chrome or Safari.
Can’t export variant or html from safari.
Can’t use custom/saved nav in either browser on new pages. When I click the nav title, nothing happens.
I can’t add images to the boxed project snippet. It doesn’t matter which image I choose to edit, it will overwrite only the first image in the grid.
Some JS errors.

We have a beta for a new Machine update available if you sign up on our mediumrare.ticksy.com support system. This version fixes bugs you have mentioned.
Exporting files from a local page is a limitation in the Safari browser only. However, if you must use Safari, you can copy the text out from the provided textarea instead.

The images load in once the page has loaded so this will depend on how large the images are etc. We reccomend using a size of around 1440×960 for a good balance between quality and filesize.

Unfortunately we can’t support IE8 as there are too many features that would need to be compromised to suit. I would reccomend using a page that encourages the user to update to a modern browser.

You are able to add to builder.html to make your own custom sections available in the builder but we don’t offer support for that.

Currently there is no builtin functionality for subscription modals so this would need to be customised yourself.
Super cool. Quick question – using nav-1 nav-light… all looks good; but I would prefer that when you mouseover the dropdown they open like the conventional bootstrap dropdowns vs. the entire background drops. Is there a spot I can achieve this without messing everything up?Great job.

Purchased this theme yesterday, and I prefer working on Coda instead of using Variant. First thing I noticed, the menu code is repeated on all the pages. Would it not have been better to use an ‘include’ file so I don’t have to make changes on every page every time I change something on the menu? Or am I missing something here?

Hey there,
The requirements of HTML templates on Themeforest are to include the raw HTML on each page – this means that the menu code needs to appear as standard HTML on each page. Of course a PHP include would be more preferable but this is the requirements for submission unfortunately.

Hey there,
You could place the code for the document head and navigation into a file called ‘head.php’ then in each HTML file (rename them as PHP files) and use the standard PHP include ‘head.php’ at the top.
Unfortunately you would still need to go through each file you wish to use manually to include the head – the advantage being that once this is done you can control the navigation from one file.
