Hi, i’ve found a bug in “primrose: woocommerce post grid” widget. If one want to select a group of categories to show (but only top categories), can’t select ‘0’ as parent category (there is no option 0 to select). In primrose-sow-woocommerce-posts-grid.php, at line 163, changing $cat_ids = array(); to array( ‘0’ => esc_html__( ‘—None selected --’, ‘primrose’ ), ); solves the problem.
Hi palumaprogetti, thanks for reporting this bug. It is already on our fixes list for the next version. Thanks
Hi Single Stroke, any news on the new update?
Will be released in few days
Is the theme compatible with the new version of woocommerce?
Hi makerbloks, yes it’s compatible with the new version of woocommerce. We would also release an update in few days for the new “my account” page style.
Hi,
How to disable lighbox on single product view? I would like to see large image on every thumbnail click. Without opening it in new window.
Thank you
Hi, you can use a plugin like: https://wordpress.org/plugins/woo-product-gallery-slider/
Hi,
What a good-looking theme, after working i had just 1 question for now.
Is there any way i can take out the sidebar on the blog posts?
Best Regards,
Ryan
Hi, glad you like the theme
You can remove the sidebar by changing the layout option on Appearance > Customize > Blog.
Cheers!
Super thanks! Also found a mistake now, i don’t know what i did. But on the homepage, the ’’most recent products’’ are not showing from left to right. But they are being showed in rows of 2 to the bottom. Can you help me solve this problem?
Best Regards, Ryan
Sorry, the domain is www.lyrytiek.nl, admin path is /wp-admin and if all is good u SingleStroke got a subscriber account
Hi, could you create a new ticket on our support site: http://support.singlestroke.io/. Our support team would help you from there
hello, does your theme work with WooCommerce Germanized (plugin) thank you very much best m
Hi Marienova, we haven’t tested the plugin, but it should work fine with Primrose as we don’t make any functionality changes to WooCommerce features.
Pre sale question: Is it possible to have a hover function in the shopping cart in the menu to see the content when hover?. And what about adding an Add to cart and Quick View function. And finally, does it have a top bar option? I need to have some info up there like phone and social icons. Thank you so much and congrats for your work!
Hi Angieminas,
Currently there is no hover function in the header cart icon. We would consider to add this function in the next release, but we can’t promise anything so far.
About the “add to cart” button on the products (shop) page, you can optionally enable this button from our Theme Options.
Currently there is no top bar element in the design. It’s in our new feature consideration, though. But for now, we can’t promise when it would be released.
Regards
Hi!
I’m loving the clean aesthetics of this theme so much. But first I have a few pre-sale questions:
1. Is it possible to have the additional preview images on an individual product page load in the same frame (instead of opening in lightbox?)
2. Is there a way to incorporate a portfolio display page, with individual portfolio item pages?
3. I’m also interested in a “get notified when this item is back in stock” option for items that are sold out.
4. Most importantly, is there a backend demo where I can log in and take a look at how the theme is built?
Thanks!
Hi lullafly,
1. Currently it’s not possible, we would add such a feature in the next release, the pictures would go into a slider instead of lightbox popup.
2. Unfortunately, Primrose doesn’t have portfolio module. It only integrate for eCommerce module (using WooCommerce).
3. I think you need to use 3rd party plugin (WooCommerce extension) for that feature.
4. Unfortunately there is no backend demo for now. If you have more specific questions about the backend pages, I can answer you.
Thanks for the fast response!
1. That would be amazing and I would eagerly look forward to it!
2. Do you think it would be possible to use a custom page template with a Lightbox gallery inserted? I realize there won’t be individual portfolio pages, but I really need to showcase a small portfolio.
3. Good to know!
4. Let me put together a list of specific questions regarding the backend functionality. There are several things I’m expecting to need to as custom coding, so I just want to make sure they’re achievable with the way the theme is built.
2. Actually, we use Page Builder by SiteOrigin and the widgets bundle plugin. Aside from our custom Primrose widgets, there is a widget called “Image grid” which might work well for small portfolio grid.
4. Sure, we would be happy to help you with mode details
Hi SingleStroke,
I have a few pre-purchase questions:
1. Is the Primrose theme “retina ready”?
2. Is it multilingual?
3. Is it possible and easy to label the Instagram section? i.e. a title that reads “Follow @...”
4. When you hover over the Instagram feed can it have a translucent filter with text? i.e. amount of likes and other text like “shop me”...
5. Can small spacing be created in between the IG footer images?
6. Can the size of the IG footer images be changed?
7. Does it have a pop-up sale screen capability or a pop-up call to action mailing list capability?
8. For the products (once you’re in the single product description area), when you click on the image can the second/third/ fourth etc. image view switch in the same frame instead of a pop-up slider?
9. Is the theme optimized for SEO?
Hi Julie,
1. The theme is retina ready, it doesn’t use pixelated images for its design. However, you would need to install 3rd paty plugin to handle retina image for your posts, products, content images.
2. It’s multilingual ready, with WPML (plugin) integration.
3. Yes, absolutely, it can be configured from the Theme Options (Customizer)
4. Unfortunately it’s not possible, we use a plugin integration for the instagram section and the feature is not yet available on that plugin.
5. You can do it with custom CSS. Contact our support guy for more details.
6. What size do you want?
7. I think it’s beyond our theme’s features scope, you can use additional plugins for the popup.
8. Currently it’s not possible, it’s the default behavior from WooCommerce (the eCommerce module).
9. Yes, but you need to do more works other than just our theme SEO optimizations. One suggestion is to install Yoast SEO plugin and start optmizing keywords on your content.
Thanks for the prompt response!
– For questions 1, 7, do you have any good suggestions?
– For question 8, can the loading wheel be changed to a simple logo for example?
10. When a customer adds an item to the cart can they be taken directly to the checkout/cart with that click?
11. For the search field, is there a functionality that allows to record searches? and receive a notification when a certain search result was received by the customer?
12. Breadcrumb navigation on each page?
13. Currency converter?
14. Is it optimized for product SKU generation?
15. Inventory functionality (only X amount left)?
16. Add product to favorites functionality?
17. If sold out, can the add to cart button be automatically removed and in it’s place an option to input e-mail and get notified when item is back in stock? or a similar functionality.
18. Social media buttons under each blog post?
19. Cart abandonment tracking?
I know these are a ton of questions, I just want to make sure this theme will work for me. Thanks!
Yes, you can use WP Retina 2x plugin for retina images. For popup plugin, there are a lot of plugins out there, we haven’t tested them one by one so we can’t really suggest what is best for you.
For the products gallery loading wheel, it can be done via custom CSS
10. Yes it’s from the WooCommerce settings
11. Not sure about that. It’s not possible in default WordPress search feature. However there might be some plugins who can do something like that. We haven’t done any research about it.
12. Breadcrumbs is currently disabled, because we want to keep the design minimalist.
13. You can find a plugin for that. We haven’t done any research about this one.
14. You can manually set your SKU on product edit page.
15. Yes, you can manage the stock of each product.
16. Hmm, I think it can be done via WooCommerce extension (plugin)
17. Not sure about this too. We haven’t done any research about this one too.
18. You can use plugin to insert social media share links.
19. Hmm, it’s really beyond a theme’s scope. You should do researches about a plugin who can do this with WooCommerce.
Thanks for answering all of my questions!! Your prompt responses are definitely a defining factor in deciding whether to purchase.
Just a couple more… since you mention I can look into plugins, I’ve done a search as suggested, and I found a list of plugins that seem to fulfill my needs. With that said:
20. Will I have any problems using any plugin I find? or
22. Do the plugins have to be integrated into the theme?
Thanks again SingleStroke!
No worries
20. I can’t promise that all plugins would work perfectly with our themes. There are thousands of plugins out there, most of them would work well, some of them would need adjustments (in terms of CSS styles), and few of them might not compatible (could be due to outdated plugin version) 22. Some of them might need additional CSS to fit into the theme’s design.
Your welcome
hmmm not the easiest of websites to set up at all. Just saying. How do I turn the shop feature off? I dont want account and shopping bag to show.
yeah your documentation is seriously lacking and not in-depth at all. I can’t even figure out how to change the blog to full width or narrow width
Hi nikita, to turn off the shop feature you just need to uninstall the WooCommerce plugin. And to remove my account page, you can go to WooCommerce settings, and also remove it from Apperance > Menus.
To change the blog layout, you can go to Appearance > Customize > Blog.
We would improve the documentation, some of the configuration we don’t include are default WordPress feature.
does this support Visual Composer?
Hi Nikita,
Currently it doesn’t support Visual Composer, but I think our Page Builder is quite simple and works great too.
I need some functionality – People can sign up but have to be approved for the accounts to see the shop pages – is that possible? Im selling high end exclusive items that I dont want available to the general public. I will also need to set up subscriptions eventually – is that something available as a feature?
also i want to use payza as a payment system – i know they have woocommerce functionality – can I also use that?
as well if people want to leave comments I need them to register to leave comments on blog – not anonymously – possible?
Hi Nikita,
I think those features like sign up approval, member-only shop page, and subscriptions system is something beyond our theme scope. I think you need to do some researches about WordPress plugins who could handle those features.
Payza payment is availabe as WooCommerce extensions, like: https://www.woothemes.com/products/payza-gateway/ or you can find some plugins on CodeCanyon too.
The member-only comments system is available from the WordPress standard comments (discussions) settings.
right – i see on the reviews comments at the moment that a person can just put name, email – what happens when you change that in the discussion settings to have to be registered in order to leave comments?
also can I turn off the shopping feature at first and just use it as a website without product?
You would need to login first to post a new comment. It is WordPress default feature.
Sorry it’s my first time using wordpress, I couldn’t locate your documentation page to import the demo for my wordpress. Can you let me know where is it at? sorry, I am really not great at this….
oh wait nevermind. Found your video. lol
Hi Daisy and Lily,
Glad you found it. For further questions, please head to our support site: http://support.singlestroke.io/
GREAT theme, I and my client love it! However, in your social media widget, the links open in the same window. The links to external social profiles should open in a new window, as a generally accepted usability standard.
Could you please provide specific direction as to how I can remedy this in the backend of the theme, to ensure social links from your included widget open in a NEW window? Thank you!
You can see the widgets in action in the footer and in sidebars: http://www.knobsforfive.com
Hi cribbagedude.
Happy knowing you and your client love our theme
We could help you with the modifications. Please create a new support ticket on http://support.singlestroke.io/ Our support team would help you
Submitted at your support forum just now. Thanks again, and also for the great support responsiveness!
Hello!
How can I add the icons as they appear in the “About” Footer Widget from the Demo? Are they included in the theme or are just linked images?
This is a great theme!
Hi Gapito,
They are just linked images. You can add the image from a plain text widget and use HTML tags.
Ok, Thank you!
Is there an easy way of moving the sidebar widgets from the right hand side to the left hand side – especially for the shop page. I’ve had a look around in the settings but cannot see anything obvious.
Many thanks,
Jamie
I’ve fixed this with CSS as below:
#primary {
float: right !important;
}
#secondary {
float: left !important;
}
Hi, glad you have solved it
Nice WooCommerce theme, GLWS
Thanks guys
Do you have the demo content with the custom product example? [Update] I found the line in the XML, sorry and thanks!
Yes, we included all the demo content in the package
Hi, for some reason all the menu links aren’t showing up at the top. They’re only all showing up if I’m logged in. Please help?
Hi, please use our profile’s contact form. Our support guy would help you.
Hello Singlestroke,
I have some query’s about the theme. 1. For category page (http://singlestroke.io/demo/primrose-wp/shop/?shop_home_page_template=full-width), If we have 100 products, Can we load in same page instead of page 1 and 2 2.In this can we customise drop down to select carat size and price changes on what is selected? (http://singlestroke.io/demo/primrose-wp/product/small-cuboctahedron-terrarium/) 3.Can we customize the product images in left side bar ?(http://singlestroke.io/demo/primrose-wp/product/cuboctahedron-candle-holder-set-of-2/ )
Thanks Sai
Hi Sai,
Yes you can do all of them using Primrose. We have replied your email regarding this. Please check it
Hello,
I am very interested in purchasing this theme, however i need to use it in Spanish. Is there a translation to spanish available? Or is it easy to translate?
Thanks!
Hi aleastiazaran,
There is no Spanish translation by default, however we include a list of text strings which could be translated into Spanish easily using a simple software. For more instruction, please refer to the documentation page.
The theme is also WPML compatible, if you want to make multilingual website.
Hi,
This might be a silly questions, but can you change the catalog images and product images from landscape to portrait in this theme?
Thank you so much!
Hi sibodesigns,
Sure, you can! We don’t define the product image sizes. It’s really up to you
Ok that’s great thank you!
Is the woocommerce part of the theme also SEO friendly? As some templates use the “Short Product Description” field and SEO does not recognise this field as textual input. So most products score really low because of this. Is that the way for you theme?
We use default WooCommerce approach for that.. However, I think you can use 3rd party plugin like Yoast SEO for optimizing your products SEO info.
Thank you so much! I purchased the theme and I absolutely love it! May I ask you if it is possible to exclude the business logo from just the homepage? To create a different landing page for the homepage? I would love to have my logo as a top layer on the image slider, but it looks weird having two logo’s on the page.
Hope you can help!
Hi sibodesigns,
You could do the trick using custom CSS, to hide the main top logo. Anyway, if you need any more helps, you could contact us via ThemeForest profile’s contact form. Our support team would help you from there.
Regards
Thank you so much SingleStroke! I will send a message there as I would need some help with customising the CSS. But great work on the theme!
You are welcome
Hi SingleStroke,
One more quick question. For the Blog page it now displays full blog posts. Is it possible to change this to only a small portion of the text and have “continue reading” below it as your sample site? Where do I go to change this? Big thanks once again!
Hi sibo, in our deocumentation page we have covered a short tutorial how to cut the post content with “continue reading”, please refer to the documentation page
