I don’t understand how you guys are thinking about updating to 2.0.0. We have Version: 1.11.6 today. When updating to 2.0.0 the layout doesn’t work!! How come? Have you not thought about it or is there something wrong with your coding? How do we solve this problem?

It feels like a very long way to go that I’ve never experienced before with any theme. It’s up to the theme manufacturer to make sure their customers can update safely without having to make such major changes that you basically have to rebuild the website. Or for that matter having to go to all post or pages to fix errors. What a job!!!

Hello, Structurepress users and developers: Is anyone else having this problem?? When I trying to update the theme through SFTP as per your manual instruction but when I do so and try to update the PHP to 8.0 – I get a “Critical Site Error” on a blank white page.

Is there a specific plugin required by the theme that needs to be deactivated / updated –after the Theme update, but before I update the PHP ??

It appears your support ran out in 2017. Did you recently update your support license? Are you personally maintaining the site? If so, performing regular updates helps to mitigate issues into the future. A significant amount of time has passed since the theme was purchased and the technology has evolved a lot since then. We try to manage expectations around support by offering a paid option, which helps cover the cost for our time spent troubleshooting. Likewise, we fully support our themes, but can’t help troubleshoot issues related to 3rd party plugins or your hosting environment.

it’s not fair, i have a license to buy! and I provide web design service to my client. I just updated the theme and I can’t activate my license, I’m wondering how you sold me a licensed theme! Otherwise, your remarks would imply that Proteus has an obligation to provide free support indefinitely into the future. It would imply that we bear the burden of poor development habits, like not updating the theme for long periods of time and then making sweeping updates without a backup plan. Hi ProteusSupport, I have a new client who has not updated their website in quite some time. This is the theme version they are running on. StructurePress PT Version: 1.7.2. Checking the compatible versions in the right sidebar says it only goes up to wordpress 5.2 which currently wordpress is on 5.8. I also noticed this them has not been updated by the developer in since 2018 which is concerning as well. If I update the theme will it be compatible with WordPress 5.8. This includes at least PHP version 7.2 or above I believe. Let me know ASAP. Thanks

there should be no problems updating the theme.

Currently on our sandboxes we are running the latest theme version on WP 5.8 and PHP 7.4 (on some 8.0), which is currently the most stable version. PHP 8.0 is already scheduled to get some updates etc.

With every WP update, we test all of our themes to ensure maximum performance and compatibility with the changes, that are made. If we detect any issue with theme, we immediately issue an update, to make it compatible with new WP version.

All of our themes are coded by WP standards to ensure, they do not encounter any problems, even though WP is updating and making changes to the core.

However, we have not detected any issue’s with this theme, therefore, there is no need to update any functionalities.

If you encounter any problems with the theme, we are always here to help you get it fixed.

Same issue persists. The error message is pretty clear. Not sure when exactly that code runs to make it reproduce-able.

i want to use this theme but unable to use this theme anywhere else having registration issues as i have removed the theme completly but the purchase code still dosen’t work.

Although, I would personally recommend, that you wait at least 1-2 weeks before updating to major WP versions. This is due to a reason, WP is updating the core and there are always bugs, which are noticed only after the upgrade. It takes up to 2 weeks, before WP developers issue a new fix and correct the bugs in the new version. This extra time also enables our developers to test the theme thoroughly and provide solutions to ensure compatibility.
