Its a great looking system. Could you explain in which way your system is different from sensei or learndash?
Gr, jaroslav
There is a lot of difference :
1. It is a whole package, 1 theme and 7 inbuilt plugins, which work in tandem for the complete LMS experience.
2. Power of top plugins : BuddyPress, BBPress, WooCommerce. Each of these plugins has powerful inbuilt features and has tremendous ability to transform your site experience.
3. You get access to all supporting plugins for BuddyPress, BBPress, WooCommerce. The number is uncountable, name any feature and you can get it.
4. Vibe LMS Module : It is a combination of two plugins, which are deep integrated with BuddyPress and WooCommerce. Binding them into the LMS solution.
5. Active support: And I am not just saying for the sake of saying. We’re serious about our product and we take regular feedback and feature requests to improve it.
Lastly, worth considering we are providing you the whole website A-Z with no loose ends, not just a tool for your website.

Ok so i signed up for a course. Used the sandbox as suggested. When I go back in – Where do I find all the courses I paid for? That is not showing up. Some type of dashboard to show the student “Paid” or “Signed Up” courses… I found my single one, but is there something I’m missing.
I found it – It has it’s own URL and it would be ideal for this to show up in a different color instead of searching for it – Just a suggestion, some people are challenged (maybe I was)
Message to the Instructor? Is there a way? Software Training has 2 instructors, one is listed on the course page and one is actually in the course, How does a student message the instructor about a question on the course?
When you log in using the login panel in the header, it shows various important links, like courses, groups, forums. You can access the subscribed courses using it.
Also, When you view the course directory, there is a tab called “My courses” , clicking it shows the courses you’re subscribed to.
A Course can be connected to a BBPress Forum. Single units can also be connected to their own forums. At the bottom of each unit, the connected forum link is shown. So, a student can ask her queries using the connected course/unit forums.
Thank you for all the answers – 110% on the customer service and this theme is very sweet!
I tested the quiz. Uncertain if that prompt saying you’ve answered the questions to fast can be removed. Or it seems the quiz never ends or its like it has to run the 5 minutes. How much flexibility? I’m guess it’s a demo and in fact it can be adjusted.
Hi,
Yes, you can not answer two consecutive questions within 5 seconds difference.
You can click on submit quiz button to finish the quiz at any point of time.
I would guess the 5 seconds could be changed ??
Since, all the responses for questions are saved as comments. This time limit 5s is something hard coded in the WordPress. {this can however be over rided with a hack}
We chose to use the inbuilt wordpress architecture because native WP queries are safer, faster and optimized.
Hey, great product, but I’m receiving a fatal error on woo commerce checkout:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function wc_print_notices() in /home/incipioa/public_html/courses/wp-content/themes/wplms/woocommerce/checkout/form-checkout.php on line 14
Please advise because this is preventing me making a transaction
wc_print_notices is a function introduced in the latest woocommerce version 2.1+.
Please upgrade WooCommerce to latest version.
The latest version of the theme has been modified to work with the latest WooCommerce version, so it will have issues with the older woocommerce versions.
Hi..
Its a nice theme, I have some queries before purchasing this theme..
1 – I have existing LMS system, some students are enrolled and are taking courses. Once I will purchase this theme, I need to get all my existing courses here, with all lessons. How to make my students also enrolled automatically for the same courses in this theme. I dont want if they have to go back and pay again.
2 – Any plan for Social Media Login, like facebook, twitter and Linkedin
3 – Any plan for chatting with live users.
Thanks
hi,
1. Would require some more information on this, Is it a custom solution ? or a WP based LMS ?
2. Yes, Buddypress has lots of plugins for integrating with social media platforms. We’re making provisions to include the Facebook, twitter login buttons in the login panel in the next update.
3. There are lots of Live chat plugins available for BuddyPress, you can try them out.plugin list
Hi
1 – its WP based LMS
2 – I am not finding social login in your latest update
one more question.. Certificate looks good, but once we are printing it, its coming as plain text. Can we have some predefined certificate template and should be exactly same in printed version as in UI.
Thanks
Hi,
1. Yes. then it may be possible to import all the courses and lessons with help of some plugins or some keyword replacements.
2. We have made provisions to customize the Certificate. I am yet to write a tutorial on on this.
hi,
how can i log to demo version to see an course example from student side?
thanks.
Hi,
Follow the below process:
1. Sign up with a genuine email id the link is in the header
2. Activate account.
3. Purchase a course using Paypal sandbox details given in the Themeforest front page.
4. Take the course, complete the course.
5. Finish the couse.
Thanks for adding the free option without the checkout process. My problem is how to configure a course to make this work. I can’t find this feature in documentation. Need some easy directions
Hi,
I just checked there is an anomaly, especially if you’re an admin. I have fixed it, the update is in the plugin Vibe Course module. You’ll get the auto update within few minutes.
Here are the steps for making the course free:
1. Locate the Course Product metabox in the Course edit/Add new screen.
2. Turn the Free Course switch “on” to make the course free.
Let me know if there is any confusion regarding this.
Video Tutorial : http://quick.as/pmaqcd9m , there are certain fixes which will be available soon. Like price display of free courses.
Just Love your support! I still got one problem, I can’t see the Free Course switch in the meta box on the course page (as shown in your video.) Did I miss to activate anything to make this work els were in admin? All plugin seems to be updated and I got the latest version of the theme. https://www.evernote.com/shard/s12/sh/f49f091b-ab93-442e-8b4d-02d957c930c4/63ce93a7d4ab3a43a9aacff498a886e6
Now I got two new update for plugin och the Vibe course module updated all right but I can’t update the Vibe Custom Post module: Download Failure. Forbidden
Still no Free Course Switch.
I had accidently removed the file vibe-customtypes from the server. You should get an update notification for this plugin soon.
I can see the notification but I can’t update the plugin. Still Forbidden. What to do?
ok, send me an email from my profile page, with your WP Admin credentials. It will help me in resolving the issue.
Thanks, it’s done.
Hi, Very nice theme. I have few pre purchase questions
1. Can we assign completion hours from admin. It means for every complete course we assign X hours 2. Is there an MIS to show the X hours completed 3. Can the content be only html based content (editable by WYSIWYG editor) 4. Can we give all courses free as this is for internal training purpose 5. Can we integrate a custom code to send sms for username and password 6. How can Buddypress be seamlessly integrated with course?
I might few more queries later on
Thank you
Hi,
1. Yes. Each course has a maximum duration within which the course should be finished.
2. There is a notification above the Course timeline which shows X days/hrs/mins/secs remaining.
3. Yes, currently the content in each unit is created using the default wordpress editor.
4. Yes. Each course has an option to make it free to connect it to a WooCommerce product.
5. Yes this is possible using action hooks.
6. We have a plugin bundled with the theme called Vibe Course Module, this plugin takes care of integrating courses with BuddyPress.
Regards,
VibeThemes
Hi, Thanks for the clarifications. for the 1st point I want to know, if somebody completes a course without taking quiz (disabled from admin) can we auto assign X hours for each completed course. It doesn’t matter if the course is of 2 minutes but I can assign 5 hours from admin for each complete course?
Hi,
There is an Admin Settings panel in LMS. Using which this is possible. However, this would require some technical details like, course id and student id.
HI VibeThemes,
I have few more queries which will help in buying this theme and implement the same within our company.
1. For sending mails in bulk, can we use external SMTP configuration? 2. Can we create groups and then assign courses to them specific to them? 3. Can we assign X hours( from my earlier query) for each click on ‘mark complete’ button for a particular entire group? 4. What is the MIS view? 4a. I will need group wise course progress report separately( downloadable excel file with details of each user within that group- how many courses completed by each user) 4b. I will need certification report for every group separately( downloadable excel file with details of each user within that group) 5. Can we have multiple levels of a course and on each level completion assign badges and a final certificate for completing the whole course?
Hi,
You can now login as instructor in a new demo site and test it out yourself. BuddyPress has its own private messaging system and it does not rely on SMTP, an Instructor can send bulk messages to all or selected course students using the Bulk Message option in the Admin panel of the Course: refer screenshot: http://goo.gl/0xidSC
2. Yes. You can create a private group and attach to the course. Now when a student takes the courses she also gets added to the private group, similarly a private group can have a private forum which is accessible to group members only. So, its all connected to course students making it an exclusive club.
3. This is not inbuilt in the theme, but I will add a action hook in the next version which will make this possible with small code addition.
4a. To see student wise stats go to Course -> Admin -> Members screen . To see stats for each user like the units completed, quiz marks etc.. click on the stats icon besides the student. Screenshot
Course/Unit/Quiz creation at backend and All management (evaluation) from the front end.
4b.The download stats feature will be available in next to next version.
5. You can have Pre-Required courses for each course and assign the badge when the last course in your group has been finished. The course evaluation part is manual, and is done from Course -> Admin -> Submissions -> Course Submissions.
Hi,
Vibethmes thanks for you response. For me point 2 and 4 are ultra critical without which I cannot implement the LMS. My team has to share the reports to management, for which download stats is very important. Due to unavailability of point 2 we are moving out from current LMS.
Can you give me some solution for both?
thank you
Hey, looks great! Just what I need for an upcoming project! Is there a way to take a look at the backend and course creation sections?
I am setting up another demo to try out WPLMS as an instructor.
Any plans to customize in the future for events instead of courses? ...the functionality is almost perfect for it.
We have plans for adding a plugin for events, which will neatly integrate in WPLMS. If you’d like to give us some pointers, it would be really helpful
you can email me at vibethemes@gmail.com
Yes I’ll post a screenshot sometime tomorrow
Is it possible to sell a course individually and as a part of a subscription plan simultaneously?
Yes. A WooCommerce product can be of One time purchase or Subscription type and you can connect a WooCommerce product with a single course or a bunch of courses. So, you can create two products for a course, one could be a one time purchase and the other can be of subscription type for a course.
But, only one product can be connect to a course, which means that when user clicks on “take this course” button, it will be taken to a single product.
You can use WooCommerces related products feature to show other products for the same course as well.
Hi there i have been looking at your theme all day i am creating a local community where people can share skills. I am currently using the Academy theme however would love to use yours as it is much slicker. However when reading through the comments i see as it is a new there you are having issues with responsiveness.
I am also wondering if users can create their own courses and if it would be possible to have a look at the WP dashboard.
Are notifications sent to the teacher when someone subscribes
Does Demo content come with it, how often and when will the new releases be out..
Jordan
Also can i create pages such as
Categories such as mysite.com/cooking-courses mysite.com/art-courses
then when i add new products (courses) to each category do they come out as: eg. mysite.com/cooking-courses/cooking-pizza-with-amy mysite.com/art-courses/how-to-draw-a-ant
Is that possible..
Hi,
1. The responsiveness fixes were fixed in version 1.1, released yesterday.
2. I am creating a separate WPLMS setup for instructor access. Just send me an email if you need access to it.
3. Currently No, but I have added this to feature requests, so it will be added in next update.
4. Yes, demo content is included.
5. Yes, we have a course category section where you can create your custom course category. refer: http://goo.gl/YbYqaj
6. That is very much possible as it is a WordPress feature, you can set your custom permalinks from WP Admin- >Settings->Permalinks. You’ll be able to use the permalink ”% course-cat %” for your course category.
Update on point 6. No, single courses slug can not be changed because BuddyPress globals are set using these slugs. The the single courses will appear as with /course/my-course
Hi there my email address is jordanboon0@gmail.com please can you send the wp dashboard login to there please.
Have you seen the Academy theme, if you would like to have a look at it please do not hesitate to om me and i can show you the dashboard, although probably pritty similar.
A few pre-purchase questions:
- Is content reusable in different courses?
- Can courses be duplicated?
- Can free courses be set up so that users have to be manually activated, i.e. not just available to all users? I ask because we need to restrict access to certain courses.
- Are you planning to add more question types to the quizes?
- An finally, does WPLMS support local media (audio and video) or only external sources such as youtube?
Thank you.
Hi,
1. Yes, you can include one unit in multiple Courses, one question in multiple quizes. The only restriction here is that if a student has already done that unit or marked the answer for that question, it will appear as completed / done in the Course/quiz timeline.
2. Free Courses can be setup, we added this functionality in 1.1. But if it is a free course then why you need a restriction ? An alternate way could be connect that course to a product, generate a WooCommerce coupon for that course and give the coupon to only students you want to get access to that course for free.
3. We’ll ready for suggestions and feedbacks.
4. Yes, WPLMS supports WordPress native audio, video. Which means you upload your video file .mp4 into WordPress and embed it in a unit/post using the WordPress media player embed. Try taking a course in the live site. All the units in the course have an embded media player which runs a self hosted Video file.
Thanks for the speedy reply. Very impressive setup by the way.
To clarify point 2: Free courses are not necessarily free access! Sometimes we have courses that should only be available to a certain group of people only and we donÄ’t want just anybody being able to sign into them. The WooCommerce coupon might be a solution, I’ll have to look at that, but I actually wanted to know whether it is possible for an admin to manually add students to courses (as an alternative) or better still for students to request access and have to be activated by an admin. For an effective LMS there should be several authentication possibilities and at least four scenarios come to mind: open access and free, open access and paid, closed access and free, closed access and paid.
Suggestions on point 4: Gap-fill (free text and selection box), drag and drop sorting / ordering immediately come to mind.
By the way there still seem to be some minor responsive issues. On two Android phones the dropdown for sorting courses / tutors etc covers the search button. Also the menu doesn’t seem to scroll. And is it intended that only the top level menu items can be shown in the mobile menu, or is this an option?
Hi,
I. Thanks for explaining the scenarios. Out of the 4 scenarios, we already have 3 scenarios inbuilt in the theme.
1. Open Access and Free : Inbuilt in the theme with Free Course switch in version 1.1
2. Open access and paid : For this you can make all your units free and keep your course connected to a product
3. closed access and free : WooCommerce coupons or the Admin adhoc settings panel. We have a admin panel for LMS where the admin can set/reset change any field for any user. So, not only can admin add/remove members from a course, she can change marks, grant certificates, badges etc etc.. using this panel.
4. closed access and paid : This is inbuilt in the theme.
II. Gap fill and selection boxes are already inbuilt in the theme. Sorting is a nice suggestion. Adding to feature requests.
III. There is a separate mobile menu for Mobile screens : Screenshot1 and Screenshot 2
OK, I’ll need to play with the demo a bit more
Re the mobile menu: It may of course just be a problem on my mobile devices or browser (Android, Chrome) but if the menu is too long to fit on the screen it doesn’t scroll, so half the entries are inaccessible.
And if I might be allowed to make just a couple more feature suggestions I think would be a great addition:
1. Printable course units (optional), i.e. a clean print version 2. Glossary integration 3. Quiz questions using audio or video as input (possibly a function to optionally prevent it from being paused)
Thank you!
Hi,
1. Thanks for notifying this. We’ll make the menu scrollable in next update.
2. Nice suggestion.
3. This is inbuilt. There is a multi media quiz in the demo , which you can try for this. We do have an overall quiz timer, so pause button may/may not be necessary.
Great looking theme!
Are we able to customize the url slugs? (Example: change /course to /class, etc)
Also, are we able to create individual “lessons” that don’t necessarily belong to a course?
Lastly, does this theme rely on the native WordPress Theme Editor at all?
Thanks!
Hi,
1. Yes, the course slug can be changed with little code modification.
2. Yes, you can create units that do not belong to any course. However, this unit can only be viewed by Instructors and not by students unless it has been marked as a free unit.
3. Yes.
Hi…
I’m interested in buying this theme but I would like to know few things.
1. Is there is any advance search functionality to search the course? Let say students types in the came of the course, select level and select author and click the search button.
2. Can I customize the home page? Is it all on short-codes for homepage?
3. I want to use template for the site for university course finder and I would like to know is it possible if students doesn’t subscribe but still he can see the details of the course?
4. Can I used the shortcodes in blogpost? ex. Tabs, Accordion, Toggles
5. Can I customize the course preview means which I details I want to show in the course preview or not (Rating, Author etc)
TQ!
3.
Hi,
1. Currently, No but if I get requests from our buyers then I would be happy to add a widget like this.
2. Yes, it is built using Page Builder. The possibilities are endless, you can add Fullscreen Stripes, Full width, 1/2,2/3,1/4,3/4 blocks in pages. We have a post grid section , filterable section, custom carousel section, WordPress editor section, Layerslider section, flexslider section, parallax layers.. in the page builder. The page builder supports custom thumbnail styles, so we have a thumbnail style for course, posts etc…Shortcodes usage is minimal. Page builder supports saving custom layouts, importing/exporting layouts and if you’re comfortable with CSS it allows you to add custom CSS within each block.
3. Details of each course can be seen in the Course -> Curriculum section. Each course can have Free units which can be viewed simply by clicking in the curriculum.
4. Yes.
5. We have added custom filters to modify the display, so this can be added with little code change.
it is possible put more than one teacher in the courses?
An instructor can include units created by other instructors in her course. But only 1 instructor has the admin access for evaluation and grading
then it is possible to show the public that there is more than one teacher?
Yes, for display purpose this can be done by small modification in code.. but the admin access for evaluation still remains with one instructor.
This is a neat suggestion. Added to feature requests. Will try to add it in the next update.
the update says: WPLMS now supports: Coauthor Plus 1 WP But an author just keeps popping up.
Refer this Tip for Coauthor plus.
I did it, but it did not work.
Ok!
Great looking theme/app. Very interested.
One question I had was regarding your thoughts on simplyfing the checkout process.
Currently there are quite a few steps to go through if the buyer is interested in purchasing a course. Is there anyway to present the buyer with a checkout page immediately upon clicking the Take This Course button?
Or are you limited by WooCommerce?
See Udemy.com for example.
Thank you and good luck with sales.
Yes, this can be done with a little code change. You can use any popular ecommerce plugin of your choice and we’ll tell you how to configure it with WPLMS. Woocommerce is our personal preference as it is really flexible and gives you a lot of options and add on plugins like adding new payment gateways or stripe payment modes …
Great work!.. GLWS
thanks
Is it possible to translate this theme via .po?
Very nice theme by the way!
Thanx
Yes, .po and .mo files are included in the bundle.
