...just got in.
Great!
Cornerstone will not download when I log in. It says “Downloading install package from tgmpa-install-plugins…
Download failed. A valid URL was not provided.”
I looked at the demo’s, but all blog sections seems to look alike, just standard blog setups. There are dozens and dozens of homepage versions, but there seem to be a lack of blog category and blog article setups. This theme now cannot be used for a magazine type of website, it seems. Or do I miss something?
Hi There,
There are several variations in blog styling (partly dependent) on which Stack you are using) as you can see in this (Integrity), this (Renew), this (Icon), and this (Ethos). Those were just four examples at random that show some of the versatility with how you can style the look of your blog within X. Remember that you can then make it as wide or narrow as you’d like and play around with the header configurations: fixed or static top, fixed left, or fixed right (again setting them to the pixel in terms of how wide or narrow).
The Ethos Stack was specifically created for more news/magazine oriented sites, and you can read about some of its features here.
Cheers!
Thanks for your reply. It’s not what I’m looking for in a magazine site, though. No problem, there are some decent alternatives for this particular project. Theme X in general looks very nice anyway, so maybe I will use it for some future project.
My pleasure!
Hello, I have a question about the blog features. Is it possible to have a grid? I mean like 2 columns next to each other showing blog posts instead of 1 column with each blog under the other blog.
Thanks for your answer!
And then I mean that these blog posts will be shown with a sidebar on the left or right
Hi There,
Yes, within the blog index you can make a standard layout (stacked on top of each other) or a masonry option (2 or 3 columns) and can opt to show the sidebar or now.
Let us know if you need anything further!
Hi. Is it possible to have a left hand navigation for a shop using this theme?
Yes indeed! You can select from fixed or static top, fixed left, or fixed right for your menu/header navigation just keep in mind this is a global setting for the site.
Let us know if you need anything further!
Can you recommend a multi lingual plugin to work with your theme? Many thanks
Hey There,
We support WPML which is widely used by customers of our theme. There are other free alternatives out there which also will work with X so trying some of them would be the best way to proceed.
When I am trying to install the theme I get this fatal PHP error.
Notice: Undefined index: update in /wp-content/themes/x/framework/functions/global/admin/addons/class-theme-updater.php on line 145
Notice: Undefined index: id in /wp-includes/class-wp-customize-manager.php on line 1207
Hmm, have not seen that before. This is possible if somehow WordPress wasn’t able to retrieve the update information for X. I would advise going to Dashboard > Updates and clicking “Check Again” If that doesn’t help, feel free to contact us with access to your site, and we could take a look.
Cheers!
Pre-sale question: Do your theme and the bundled plugins offer automatic updates? Or is the update process manual?
Yes, if you validate your purchase in your Themeco account (can be created once the theme is purchased).
Thanks! Just bought it.
Is any demos fully customizible? Or I can just do minus changes to the demos?
Hi There,
Yes, our 1-click demo content importer allows you to quickly recreate the look of our demo home pages and edit from there.
Cheers!
One last question: can I change the style of navigation arrows?
Which navigation arrows are you talking about?

There are not point/click controls for that in the theme if that is what you are asking, but you can certainly customize any part of the theme as you see fit with custom code, CSS, etc.
Any clue when you might have an update with more granular controls? Like the commenter above, Cornerstone/X just aren’t getting it done because of this. Not having the ability to individually style certain elements (aside from custom css) is a HUGE step backward as far as what other themes are offering. While Cornerstone could theoretically save you time compared to using VC or another custom page builder, in many cases it can actually take you 2x or 3x longer if you want to have elements styled differently on different pages. I actually tested this out on a few pages, and it really does take 2x or 3x longer, which is a huge bummer because in some cases Cornerstone could/should be MUCH quicker to use than any other option out there.
I’ll likely be buying 5 more themes in the next week or 2, and I’m really hoping X has some of those controls by then.
Any ETA on an update like this?
There are many things you can granularly control, however we are systematically expanding those offerings to other elements. No specific ETA as it will be a process not a destination, but it is a direction we are moving towards for certain elements. The vast majority of people use global styles so as to give a cohesive look to their sites, but there are some use cases where more granular options are helpful.
Cheers!
Thanks for the reply. Looking forward to seeing updates!
My pleasure
I love X so much and I anticipate on getting at least 2 more licenses! My ONLY problem with it is that, if your css and html skills are not up-par and you do not take the time to read the whole documentation, it’s very hard to customize specific things on your own. For an example, making a single button’s colour on the home page be different from the default buttons… or making a button animate with css3 or using their ID, Style and Class slots etc… They got some learnign curve to it. And now with Cornerstone, as amazing as it is, it’s another learning curve to assure that you accomplish what you imagine to do….
Hi There,
While there are many ways to customize features in X/Cornerstone with both point/click controls and custom CSS, we are in the process of offering more granular controls in the various interface(s). There are some unique considerations due to our Stack concept, but it is on the table and Cornerstone is the first step in that direction.
Glad you are enjoying your time with X.
Cheers!
Yea, it’s just there are a lot to learn. Like how to effectively use ID/STYLE/CLASS things and how to customize every elements that you guys offer… It’s hard to find the css codes for what we need to get done with them and specifically changing those only. Like if i type .x-btn{ color:red}; in the style of the container that i am using in corner stone, it should work right away, and put comma after it and write something else… Same thing with making my own buttons on the page where when clicked, it scrolls down or up on another part of the site or page… Small things like that would help a lot! Other than that, this theme is perfect for using the tools already available, such as the demo stuff
Yep, just keep in mind those advanced controls are optional and certainly not required unless you want to get into granular control of things like a button color in one place that is unique from a global button color. Either way, more granular controls are on the future development timeline as we further develop X and Cornerstone.
Cheers!
Completely understandable and your work is commendable! I personally think, it owuld be superb if your dev team made some videos, showing us how to use X theme like that and use granular controls or some tricks and such! Would make our lives and your lives much eaiser (Support forum wise).
Thank you for the feedback, we will look into adding some of these resources the future.
The X Theme changes my life, Its as simple as that. So many options out there. Stop looking for distractions and focus on what you need to do. Content is King. X themes lets you focus on that. Get a Decent Host and get a decent theme. This one !!!
Thank-you very much for that, Steve! We have valued having you in the community and look forward to working with you and your clients for a long time to come.
Cheers, my friend!
X is worth every single penny! This makes working with Wordpress a pleasure, more than anything else.
Thank-you very much! Music to our ears
That is so unfair what you guys are doing, i have spent a lot of money hiring people to design my website and now you’re telling me the only way to get this update is to hired a web developer and redo the whole site again ???
While you have a good support, I’m extremely disappointed as this huge change will affects everybody in a big way.. most of them will have to redo their website from scratch…
I”m a software engineer since 23 years and a system should always be versatile and should not require to re-implement the whole thing..
i find that a bit of an unprofessional approach
Hi There,
I’m not sure where you are getting the information, but there is nothing customers have change with regards to the new update. It is simply a new option for those who wish to use it. If you are using the existing page builder and happy with it you can continue to use it on new and existing sites as has been explained in numerous places here in our comments, Changelog, forum, etc. It will continue to be update and supported.
Cheers!

How will this affect my site going from VC to cornerstone? Seems like it would mess up the format a little, but im excited to use it.
Hi There,
You can:
1) Keep using VC on new or existing sites.
2) Manually convert your old VC pages over to Cornerstone (there is no automatic way to do this as they are completely separate tools).
3) Run both VC and Cornerstone concurrently and keep old pages under VC and new pages under Cornerstone (this is not recommended for administration reasons but it is certainly possible if you prefer).
4) Use Cornerstone on all new sites and license purchases.
There is a lot of flexibility with the Cornerstone since it is fresh off the presses, but since it is created and managed end-to-end by Themeco it allows for faster development internally on our end.
Cheers!
oh ok great…i messed with it and figured it out…1.will they or you guys be adding a gallery? this is one thing i would love to see, as well as many others. 2. There is no opacity options for background colors/images?
Hi There,
We are they (one in the same)
Feel free to post any questions or feature requests in the forum, and a member of our development team will be happy to assist. There is a Cornerstone specific thread for things like this.
Cheers!
Hi there,
I don’t know where to post this anymore but I forgot my password and made a request for a new one on the login page. Only issue is I’m not receiving the link to reset my password.
I am using the same email as my envato account’s email. Is there a way for me to contact Themeco Support so they can send me my password?
Sure, send us an email via our contact form, and we can send over instructions for accessing your account. Your email provider is most likely inadvertently blocking the password reset emails.
Cheers!
