this white arrow in right top corner is sliding top section where you can use widgets. So this works like a widgetized area but looks nicer. We are not sure what black space you mean because we do not see any but looks like you got some errors in html code. We recommend to fix them and also please do not forget to deactivate all extra plugins/tools which may cause this issue because as we see, sliding area does not work properly.

If you want to use smooth scroll for button, you must try to use class=”scroll”. We did not tested it for button but for links this works great.

I want the search button icon to show. How can I edit it so it says search instead of “test”

If you want to activate search icon, you must activate option responsible for search under Theme options > Header & Subheader > Extras section. There is no other way to activate search on site. If you already did it and search icon won’t show, then please send us url to site where you did it and we’ll have a look on it.

we have no idea why you downloaded this file because this is completely unnecessary. All files and demos are already included into package and you can import them thanks to “1 click installation” feature. More information about this you can read on support forum.

No, you did not turned off subheader. If you don’t know how to deactivate this option under Muffin Options panel, then maybe will be easier for you to deactivate subheader with custom css:

.home #Subheader { display: none !important; }

You don’t need to change any files. Each custom css should be pasted under Theme options > Custom CSS & JS > Custom CSS section.

under child theme, you can overwrite only functions in functions.php file. It is not possible to overwrite whole files because it is not allowed by WP. More information about this possibility you can read on support forum.

If you mean mask for images, then yes, you can do this of course with below css:

if you did not modified any theme files on FTP then of course it is save to update theme. We recommend to update theme files via FTP client because in our opinion this is the safest method.

No I didn’t modify any of the theme files and my CSS preferences are in the Theme Options panel. So it is safe to overwrite the theme files on the live site?

Yes, it is safe if you keep everything in Muffin Options.
