Thank you for your superfast reply! I was able to create what i wanted with some minor adjustments that needs to be done. Actually i included .masthead on the slider that i have created but unfortunately the menu is still is somewhat cut. im slowly learning how to use cornerstone and i can say that its really easy in some way. Thank you again and please help me on some minor fixes specially on the .masthead thank you guys and more power.

You can contact Envato regarding this support@envato.com however keep in mind that many of the things you have stated about the theme are inaccurate. There is extensive documentation both in written and video form and no css or php code is “missing.” Extensions will not clog up your site and are instead optimized, modular tools allowing customers to pick and chose certain functionality they may need mainly so your site is not utilizing unnecessary features.

Many of our customers share how easy X is to get up and running so it sounds like you are either not doing something correctly or may need assistance with a particular feature. As always, a member of our staff is happy to help in the forum. This thread explains how to post/use the forum to get answers to your questions.

i cant use this i dunno how and i dont want to re-learn anything i want to use the existing knowledge that i have to set up my theme and i cant do that … thanks a bunch i am getting nothing but internal errrors and completely crashed my site. I just would like a refund purchased it 2 hours ago.

If you have updated to v4+ of the theme and activated Cornerstone, you don’t need to have X-Shortcodes installed any longer. If you’d like one of our developers to take a look, they’d be happy to do so in our forum. You can register for access here if you have not done so already. It would also be advisable to update your install to the latest version of WordPress.

The blog pages can look very different Stack to Stack dependent upon some of the many options at your disposal – for example this (Icon) vs this (Renew) vs this (Ethos) vs this (Integrity) – all the same X theme just different Stacks and just one example of each Stack’s many blog configuration options. You can further customize things like your footer widget areas, some of the custom blog features for each Stack, etc.

There is not a blog Shortcode that you can place, however if you check out our Showcase you’ll see hundreds of different blog configurations (on a spectrum from simple, out of the box to complex customizations).

thats the thing… here we go again..”complicated” when a person who has to watch a video just to activate your template that is really is not a good sign.

That video is not about activating the theme rather setting up product validation which is optional.

We have integrated styling support for Gravity Forms, WooCommerce, and Visual Composer. The others are not officially integrated, so they would fall outside of our support, however our customers use many 3rd party tools/plugins when extending X.

As we need to and should use cornerstone as page builder, does this mean that I have to create pages as well as posts with cornerstone only. Is their a way to create only pages with cornerstone and not blog posts or none of them.

Asking this as what if 3 years down the line I wish to change my theme and then shifting from cornerstone to normal text (as in wordpress) will be too tedious. If one has to redo only pages, its okay as I dont have that many pages that I can’t recreate them; but recreating all accumulated posts may not be a workable thing.

Any insight for me on this as this is the last deciding factor for me..

Hi there,

Using Cornerstone with posts is optional. You can continue to write posts the usual way, which in most cases is the best thing to do. We did however make Cornerstone compatible with posts just in case someone wanted this functionality.

If you need to switch themes later on, your posts would not be affected.

Thanks for writing in! Just for clarification, could you specify which “separators” you’re referring to? There are separators when you hover over the images in the “About Us” section for instance, then there’s a separator that appears over the background image of the next section, et cetera. I just want to make sure which one you’re referring to so we can have a better picture.

That being said, as of this time neither of these effects are possible in Cornerstone, but letting us know what you’re looking to achieve can help us figure out if it’s something we might be able to look into.

In the video the default WordPress theme gets used and not X, that’s why you see a different custom menu. Custom menus are menus that get added to a widget section which X supports too. Create a new menu and then go to Appearance > Widgets and add the Custom Menu to the sidebar widget area and you’re all set.

ok, I think, I did it.

After I downloaded and updated the theme manually and uncommented the lines 180 and 191 in feature-list.php of the cornerstone-plugin, I got the backend of wordpress back and I deactivated and deleted the plugin “Encrypted Email” (which had an update today too) and then I updated the cornerstone-plugin to latest version 1.0.4 and I think, everything looks good now.

That error would suggest that Cornerstone failed to update properly. I somehow did a partial upgrade and you were missing certain files. If you haven’t already, I would suggest reinstalling Cornerstone from the latest version.

For the $63 you acquire a license that lets you use X with all its features. X does not have any event registration feature so for things like that and any other customizations that are out of the box you would need to hire a developer. We support an eCommerce system (WooCommerce) which is free of charge so you can use that one for your endeavour. X does not have any donation functionality so that would be another job for a developer. We can only provide support for our core functionality not any modifications or 3rd party plugins. Once you’ve activated a new theme in WordPress the old theme is inactive and all the custom styling and customisations as well as custom page templates will be gone. The best solution for this would be creating a staging site and making a local transition to make sure everything works properly and then push everything live.

Thank you for answering. We have a volunteer developer. If all customizations are gone once you implement the new theme, how would even our developer keep our custom donation and registration features? Are you saying he can create new custom pages (donation, etc), but the old will be gone?

We recommend creating a staging site and making a copy of your current site / installation and then switch to the X theme. All the pages and posts should get moved over so the only thing to do is configuring and styling X to your needs. If you have any custom post types you would need to export and import them. You can find several plugins and tutorials on the internet about how to migrate a site. If you are running into any issues on the way feel free to join our member area and open a new topic in the forum with your problems.

I was able to get the rich snippet breadcrumb working by using the code at https://theme.co/community/forums/topic/breadcrum-child-categories-do-not-show/#post-109337 and child theme from https://theme.co/community/kb/how-to-setup-child-themes/

It would have been nice if you also add an out of box feature for rich snippet.
