Hi there, I need to create two different and separate portfolio pages, one called “Portfolio 1” and the other “Portfolio 2”; beside that I need that each portfolio has its own separate options in the admin panel, it means that “Portfolio 1” menu has to show only “Portafolio 1” items in their list.
In others words, I need to create a custom post type and using the portfolio templates already created in the theme, thanks for any advice.

On this level you can create two separate pages of Portfolio Items with different results by creating a page with “Portfolio Page” template:

Hi, I want to create two sections (portfolios): “Artists” and a “Exhibitions”. I know we can create two different portfolio pages and classify these items with categories and show them in each section, but the “items Artists” and the “items Exhibitions” still would be together in the administrator; what I need is that in the administrator panel each section have their separate tab menu option, each with its own categories, own tags; something like that:
Artists> -list artist -artists categories
Exhibitions> -List exhibitions -Exhibitions categories

While updating the Kalium theme from 1.5.2 to 1.7.4, I also attempted to update Visual Composer to the current version (4.7.4) but it gives me the following fatal error when I try to activate the VC plugin:

I deleted the VC plugin and reinstalled it from the Envato toolkit, but I still get the same fatal error when trying to activate VC.
Additionally, I don’t know if it’s related to VC not being activated or was caused by updating the Kalium theme to 1.7.4, but I appear have lost my theme options (which were essentially the ‘Architecture’ theme options with some custom colors). I am not using any custom CSS.

EDIT: I was able to finally get Visual Composer 4.7.4 activated after deleting and reinstalling it a second time.
But I still have lost all of the Theme Options that I had set before I updated the Kalium theme to 1.7.4.
I love the theme, but will I run into these problems each time I update the theme?
Prior to installing the Kalium 1.7.2 theme update, I had backed up the Kalium Theme Options with the intention of restoring them after the update. But updating the theme appears to have deleted the backup as it now says ‘No backups yet’. (Not sure how ‘Restore Theme Options’ is supposed to work when it deletes the backup upon theme updates).

When any update is out, it will not create any problem, just update theme on the Envato Toolkit and it will update theme files, so your Theme Options will not change on theme updates.
So if you haven’t changed any theme core files the update will create 0 problems.
If you need further help just write us your request again on this thread and we will investigate further for your problem

You can change anything you want in the theme by right-clicking and selecting “Inspect Element”, there you can see the theme classes and rewrite them in Custom CSS.

If you see our demo they don’t play too, this is not a problem on te Revolution Slider but the iOS and Android don’t allow autoplay of the video.

Hi! Is there a way to make disappear the menu from my front page? Let me be more specific. My front page is a 2 min long video that I realized with Slider Revolution. Everyhing perfect beside that it takes few second to start so that the people at first think is a picture, and go directly to Portfolio. What I wanted to do is to put a “Skip this” sign with Slider Revolution so the people know that something is going to happen, and wait a little bit. To make this work I need to make the menu disappear, obviously only in the front page. How do I do this?

I have deactivated all the plugins but this did not solve the issue.

We have fixed this and not released the update that contains the fix.
So here is the quick fix for you, download this file:

I think I have the same problem with the slider. Bought the package yesterday and after update of the plugins, the comment from Layerslider WP:
You need to authorize this site in order to get upgrades or support for this plugin. Purchase a license or enter an existing purchase code.
Do I have to buy the plugin separate or is it in the package provided?

Layer Slider don’t allow us to give customers our license number, so on each premium plugin such as Visual Composer, Revolution Slider and Layer Slider update we release a new update to our theme with the latest version of that plugin included, and customers don’t need to worry about that,
You never need to buy any premium plugins that comes with our theme
You can install / update our premium plugins by going to Appearance > Install Plugins to update all plugins to the latest version that we support.
If the Layer Slider refuses to update please just go to Plugins and uninstall Layer Slider, then go to Appearance > Install Plugins and install it again.

I’m just never giving a toprating because than it would say that the theme is already perfect.
Programming and designing is never perfect, that is why we designers and programmers always get challenged to improve.

I’ve checked if this function request_filesystem_credentials(...) is being called in Portfolio Post Type plugin but it wasn’t found so I guess there is another plugin that uses this function, so the only plugins that use this function are:

This error shouldn’t appear because its the core function of WordPress but there might be an incorrect calling to this function. So try to disable few plugins that you may doubt they are doing this, I am 100% sure that Portfolio Post Type doesn’t have anything to do with that.

To get the last version of Visual Composer first make sure that you are using Kalium 1.7.2.
Then go to Appearance > Install Plugins to update all your premium plugins to the latest version that we support. Specially visual Composer, and you are all fine

Note: Borders will activate on all the pages and not only on the Fullscreen portfolio layout.

Hi – I’ve been trying to install the Architecture demo content through your demo content installer, but keep getting the error:
[ErrType: xml-wp-content]
when trying to install the content. The other parts seem to install fine.
Memory limit is 256mb and execution time is 720, which I don’t think it reaches before it brings up the error anyway.
Any idea how I can fix this? It’s a very slick content installer if it works!

It is weird why this happens, I’ve tried import demo content of Architecture and worked fine in my case.
However you can manually import architecture demo data via WordPress Importer (Tools > Importer) and then the architecture demo content file is located in this directory of the theme:
wp-content/themes/kalium/inc/lib/laborator/laborator-demo-content-importer/demo-content/architecture/content.xml
Import that file and check Download attachments checkbox. I hope this will work for you.

Thanks Arlind – this still didn’t work but I have since solved it. My solution (in case anybody else has the same problem) came after I checked the error logs, where ” Class ‘DOMDocument’ not found ” kept coming up. I had to enable the PHP Selector ‘dom’ and this got everything working.

Quick question…. is there a way to reorder portfolio categories for the ajax filtering? Also, any way to just eliminate lazy loading / ‘load more’ function in the portfolio and have it load all portfolio items on page load (or just increase the number that it loads?)
