Thanks for your timely replies to all support comments I’ve left so far. One more question: I’m struggling with image quality in the portfolio pages. The image is uploaded at a decent quality for retina, 2000px wide. I have it displaying as a full width portfolio image, and the portfolio page is using an 1140px version of the image, which looks fuzzy and compressed. When I click it to open it in the lightbox, it looks great again. Is there any way to force the portfolio to use a higher-quality version of the image? See http://allisonusavage.com/portfolio/emmys-organics/ (the top image especially) as the example.

Yes you are right, we have forced this in that way however I see now that this doesn’t look good. Here is the quickfix for you:
Open this file: wp-content/themes/kalium/tpls/portfolio-loop-item-type-2.php
On line 66 change the value 1170 to your preferred value.
In the next update of Kalium we are going to fix this, so also save this code:
add_filter( 'kalium_portfolio_image_max_box_size', create_function( '', 'return "1170";' ) );
When you install the new update, it will replace these files, so just apply that line of code in functions.php and it will have the same impact. Of course replace that 1170 to your preferred value.

Hi Arlind, thanks for your help. I added this in but I realized the issue isn’t with the sizing of the image, it’s with which version of the image it’s pulling (the compressed version that wordpress created). Even when the grid value is 1170, if I use Inspector to change the source image to the original (/uploads/2015/10/cereal-bowls-2.jpg instead of /uploads/2015/10/cereal-bowls-2-1240×420.jpg) the quality issue is fixed. Is there a way to force it to read the original?

The problem would be cropping images which will cause misalignment in the grid, you can change to retrieve original image by just adding this line of code:
$portfolio_image_size = 'original';
Put this line in the same file I gave you on line 159.

I am building a new site and have not installed any demo content yet. I would like to replicate the homepage on your main demo, but cannot make it work. I have already created a number of portfolio and post items. I’ve been working based on help docs, but cannot get my slider or page to be like this http://demo.kaliumtheme.com/main/ Is the best option to load all of the main demo content? You can only upload the Slider individually, simply go to Revolution Slider on your side menu and click on the Import Slider box, now in the files you downloaded in the extras folder navigate through your favorite demo and import the revolutionslider.zip file.

Copy that shortcode, create new page, click on “Classic editor” and paste the code to WordPress content editor (classic mode) so it will add the shortcodes that Visual Composer understands. Then you can switch back to Backend Editor to see these shortcodes in visual structure.

Well, this is taking me where I didn’t want: confusion! “String translation option of WPML” I understand this is part of WPML Multilingual CMS and it’s not part of WPML Multilingual BLOG. Do I get it right? I need to upgrade to the CMS version. But… then, I see the string translation option is an addon to WPML: do I need to pay that one too? This is taking me really far from the target, LOL. I really suggest you to add that Kalium is fully compatible with Multilangual CMS version of WPML, not a generic WPML compatibility. This is a problem to me, I’m really disappointed

Yeah you understood that right, you will need to use the CMS license of WPML in order to translate the strings, we are forcing no-one to purchase the WPML plugin, you can use another free alternative to this but it WPML is a something we recommend as much as almost all of the authors do (because it’s the best), if you want you can use the Loco Translate plugin for string translation, it is free and does the same thing.

When you scroll down and then hover portfolio, the drop down menu has a black background, the font size is bigger and the line height is higher. Here’s the screenshot:

The dropdown is black always, and not only in that case. I don’t see any difference on font size or line height too.

In my browsers the background of the drop down is transparent and the font size is smaller initially.. When you start scrolling down (and the sticky menu starts being active) the background turns black and the font size changes.
I think I have to make the CSS the same for above mentioned classes and the classes after the sticky menu starts being active, isn’t it?

The idea is that the subtitles remain the same (color / transparent background / margin) so they stay in the white of the sticky menu (that is why we wanted them aligned horizontal)

Is it possible for you to expand your feature for background video on a row to also support self-hosted video’s and not only youtube video’s?

This feature is developed by third party plugin (Visual Composer) and its up to them to support this. I guess they will implement that in the near future.
Currently there are no other ways for that. You may ask in Visual Composer forum if they will support a feature like that.
The second feature is already supported and added in v1.7 of Kalium, each page has “Page Options > Logo & Menu” there you can change the skin of sticky menu:

This still doesn’t answer my question, nor fix the issue i have.
I will try to explain it again again:
1) When i load the page—the link items should be >white<
2) When i scroll the page, and the sticky menu take effect—the link items should turn >black<

Hello, I am having some troubles with the Portfolio Items build query, I’m trying to restrict the portfolio items to just one portfolio category however when I add this to the query it doesnt work and just shows the full portfolio. Dear Kalium Creator,
Yesterday I bought you theme, downloaded it and installed it on the latest wordpress 4.3.1. Everything is working fine expect the one crucial issue – parallax backgrounds.
I put row, set parallax to simple, set full width, add image and save. Unfortunately blank section is displayed, instead of parallax background! Please you please help me with it.

Hi, great work with the theme.
I upload my logo in “branding>custom logo”. It appears at the begining, but later it changes and appears the Kalium Logo. What can i do?

That logo it’s on Revolution Slider, by watching this video, you can learn how to remove that. (video is made with the last version of RS, but i think that you will not have problem to find that place on the new layout)
