i just purchases this theme and when i unzip the file it contains many folders For eg: demo, demo_sliders etc and a zip file named newspaper.zip , is this the zip file to be uploaded to the website ? then how can i update the theme ? there is a folder named patch_6.6.2_6.6.3 kindly help

Please check this guide about installing the theme – http://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-wordpress/ You have to extract the files from the zip file that you download from themeforest and there(in folder Newspaper-tf) you can find the theme, plugins.. – http://screencast.com/t/DLJiK1xnkoM
The patch contains the files modified from the previous version and it can be used to update the theme but only if you use the previous version. For example you have 6.6.2 theme version, you can use the patch to update to the 6.6.3 version. This helps users that have custom modifications to the code.

Hello, I am using Newspaper 6.3 in http://octavadigital.com, but i am having problems with unique articles or no repeat post in blocks of the homepage… I don’t guess to activate this option and my posts are repeated in blocks of homepages… I have to use offset post but this is no good working for me.. wheres is the option to use unique post and no repeat? I had used in old versions but I have not looked in this… Thanks

Hi, I am running a woocommerce shop on your theme and everything is quite fine but I can’t manage it with the right picture size. My product pictures (catalogue thumbs) are too big. I am already using some resize/optimize plugins but that didn’t changed much. Are there any possibilites to get the images much smaller? Maybe with a custom css? Thanks Fabian

Do you refer to the theme update/install? The theme package that you download from themeforest is a zip file which contains the theme(another zip file), plugins, child-theme, please check our documentation – http://forum.tagdiv.com/whats-included/ So if you want to install/update the theme you will have to extract the ZIP folder called Newspaper-tf. After extracting files you will open the folder called Newspaper-tf where you will find the theme – http://screencast.com/t/sHzCk3Kw7

Hi Like youtube video post sharing, Is there the same sharing format for Dailymotion? On sharing on facebook, it should show post with image not video (directly play on facebook). When someone click on image on facebook, user redirect to the website.

I’m not sure what you mean. Sharing an article with dailymotion video you should get the same result like using a youtube video. The thumb will appear on facebook page and when you click on it, you will be redirected to the article where the video is. Hi,
This is how the theme was designed to crop all the featured images and the thumbs created to be used on modules/blocks. The theme uses the add_image_size() function and you can read more about this on our documentation – http://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-vs-featured-image-size/ also you enable thumbs only for modules and blocks that you use so it will not be created so many thumbnails.

Thanks for your reply, I managed to find the code to amend but when I changed the image height from 385 to something larger like 500 the image became distorted.
Could you let me know how I can get it to show the full height of the image without distorting it.

Like I said above all featured images are cropped so the thumbs will be used on blocks/modules but depends also the aspect ratio of your images as some modules have a 16:9 aspect ratio some have one closer to 4:3 so not all images will look good on all modules, it is specified in the documentation. Also by changing the thumb size you will need custom modifications as the module 14 has a css which was created especially for a thumb with 385px height thumb – http://screencast.com/t/JJrxWCq20O8 I suggest to get someone to help you with this as it is not so easy and we are not available for custom services, sorry!

Yes, the theme is is capable of loading Vietnamese – http://screencast.com/t/fYQXgpDGGw0S Theme’s translation loads translations for your site’s frontend but theme’s panel or other settings are available just in English and they are not translated unfortunately.

Yes, you can use the same code when you activate the theme on the server without any issues.
Regarding the slider height, you can use custom css to decrease it for each device(media queries) for example to apply this only on desktop – http://screencast.com/t/JIgnK51f

I love your Themes! since months we use Newsmag on one of our sites. Now we dowloaded Newspaper for another site: https://ezigarette-magazin.de/ There is now one problem: The picture-size is not matching with the big grid. On our other site there is no problem with the size. Also google page speed says that the pictures are not optimized or compressed. but they are compressed. How do i fix that?
i found a solution: 1. Install and activate the Plugin “thumbnail upscale”. 2. Install and activate Plugin “force regenerate”. 3. Run force regenerate.

Hi, I am working on a site which has newspaper 4 installed. not sure when the last time the theme was updated. Will a fresh licence for newspaper 6 be required to update newspaper 4? Also, does the theme actually require a child theme when updating? Thanks

You don’t have to pay for the version 6 of the theme if you already bought the theme. Just download the new version of the theme from your themeforest account and update it following this guide – http://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ Please note that the old customizations(files modifications or custom css) will not work anymore and you will have to re-add them. Also the child theme must be updated, you can find it in /code folder – http://forum.tagdiv.com/whats-included/

Newspaper theme was designed with an fixed grid layout, responsive as it is fluid and style for desktop/tables/mobile screens and unfortunately we don’t plan to make changes to the width so I’m afraid that a full width option will not be available.
