A Note Before Updating

• Make sure to clear your cache
• If you’re using a child theme and have modded files, make sure the files are updated to reflect the structure of the new files. Things such as an outdated header.php could very much mess things up

I am using the updated version of salient. I have ticked Heade navigation>Header Hide Until Needed . but the effect is not taking place on my website designmont.com

In the documention, you ftp is recommended. In ftp, all I need to do is delete current wpcontent/themes/salient folder and replace it with the new theme right?

Great ThemeNectar Team, I don’t know why but suddenly a huge white space appeared between the navigation menu and the header. I don’t know how to fix it, can you please help? I’m using Salient 7.0 Thank you

Ever since version 5.0 of this theme, every update seems to break something causing a bunch of us to have to downgrade back to a previous version, but even the previous version has it’s flaws. It really is a painstaking process to have to do this every single time, not to mention hacking apart theme files just to fix your issues so it is in a usable state in production.

Please get better at doing some QA before releasing to the public, maybe even pulling in beta testers to help file bug reports and get things cleaned up.

A message for updating users

Please make sure your child theme is up to date with the current theme code in 7.0 – if you’re experiencing issues and using a child theme, please try using the parent theme alone to see if the issue lies within your customized files.

A minor bug fix will be release tomorrow morning taking care of all confirmed issues so if you find anything that I overlooked – please report it as detailed as possible so that it may get fixed

Noticed a tiny bug in the corporate demo on a project single page, the “back to all projects” grid icon link at the bottom does not go to the correct url.

Hi Phil. Thanks so much for the continued updates. Really great work as always! Just a few items that I’m hoping are still on the list.

1. Ability to choose a light/dark menu and logo when using the Transparent option for the Page Header section. This is helpful when using a lighter or darker image for the Page Header.

2. Ability to add a white/black border frame (passepartout) around the entire page as an alternative to the boxed and full layout.

3. Regarding the Salient options, would be nice if you could hide the options that appear in the left sidebar nav menu. Seems like the same options are shown in the Options panel. Regards.

Updated the theme today hoping to fix the fade option with the Nectar slider. Had to revert for the following reasons:

• Header logo not appearing, despite showing as uploaded/placed in the control panel

• I had customized the nav fonts as well as the h2 in the nectar slider, and even though those callouts still appear in my CSS, they are overriden by the new typography controls in the control panel.

• 4-column portfolio not displaying at all.

Just thought I’d let you know.

thanks a lot for the update. Unfortunatelly, I had to downgrade back to version 6 due to some errors. Hope you can fix it or give me an advice how to get things working:

Issue 1 Ajax Search function doesn’t show results any more. It seems to search, but no results are being shown. It works fine with Salient v6.

Issue 2 Within a nectar slider, the „fade“ transition between first and second slide doesn’t work correctly. There is only a sudden change of both pictures, no fading. Additionally, within the first slide, the selected color scheme for slide font color „dark“ isn’t accepted and shows the „light“ version. Changing the order of the slides didn’t help. It always occurs in slide number 1. This is a problem I already had with Salient version 6.

Issue 3 In the Salient v7 options panel an error message occurs at the top of the admin panel: file-put_contents (…) themes/salient/css/dynamic-combined.css failed to open stream permission denied in functions.php on line 685

I think it has to to do with the write/read permissions of the file dynamic-combined.css

Hey guys, thanks for the 7.0 update! Although I’ve had to downgrade due to a bug with two Nectar sliders on the same page breaking the page, I’m eager to upgrade again once things are sorted. Quick question though, would it be possible to allow for the portfolio nav to exist BOTH on the top and the bottom of the page? Thanks!
