Hi there, I just purchased this theme…and I’m having issues installing the plugins. It’s taking forever to install them…I haven’t been able to install even one. It just keeps spinning but nothing happens.

I have a few questions about how you deal with media, galleries and attaching media to pages/posts.
1. Do you use the core Media Library functionality to upload and store all images/media?
2. I see from screenshots that there is a “Medias” meta-box on the Page/Post Edit admin screens. If you add media using that meta-box does it get stored in the core Media Library?
3. Are the images that are shown in the Medias meta-box simply images that are “attached” to the post/page” or are you storing this association in custom field of some type?
4. Are galleries generated using the core “gallery” shortcode or do you use your own shortcode or custom fields to tell a page or post to generate a gallery?
These are all important for me to know how much migration work there will be moving to Uncode from another theme.

Re: 3 – I have an existing theme full of galleries. The galleries are generated by the use of the core Gallery short code and simply display images that are “attached” to the post. Would I have to recreate these galleries in Uncode? or will it see a gallery shortcode in the post/page content and render the gallery correctly?
Does the visual composer output a core gallery shortcode or are you storing the list of images to display in each gallery in custom fields that would have to be populated when I migrate?

you will see the shortcode of the gallery created since we are using the same base. Then you just will need to customise it so achieve the way you want them to look.
I purchased the theme but i think you misunderstood some of my questions. I wanted to know if your theme respected WP’s core gallery shortcode (i.e. [gallery]). It does not. Your gallery implementation is proprietary and either is stored as a custom page/post setting or, if you activate the visual composer, they use the [vc_gallery] shortcode.
This makes it impossible to migrate an existing site that makes use of WP’s core [gallery] shortcode as your theme forces one to re-create all the galleries using the visual composer or attaching “Medias” directly using your medias meta-box on post/page admin screens.
This is really too bad as there is no good reason why you couldn’t simply extend the core [gallery] shortcode with extra params to accomplish the same thing. I highly recommend you look into that approach if you hope to make the theme appealing to photographers.
DM me if you are interested in discussing this further as I think you have a wonderful theme and I’d love to use it myself and recommend it to photographers but can’t based on this important implementation detail.

None of the modern advanced multi-use WordPress themes work with the native shortcodes anymore, nowdays this is the new standard.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I thought you meant galleries created with Visual Composer. We can of course grant you a refund because of that. maybe a better approach would be to create a utility to convert the shortcode since some of the users would like to keep them as they are. It’s not easy to satisfy the needs universally.
Thanks a refund would be great. I do disagree with you about the fact that “this is the new standard”. You don’t re-create the WP core menu or widget systems so I’m not sure why you think gallery is any different. Again, I’m happy help show you guys how to use core’s [gallery] to accomplish the same things – as I’d love to use your theme.

Where can I put in the regular license key? I just bought it for another project of mine, where the theme had been uploaded couple days ago. I just want to have the full package and all updates for that site. The thing is: that the Visual Composer doesn’t work, I cant update ut. Therefore I bought that Theme License.

If you have updated your WordPress to version 4.5 you need to update the Uncode to version 1.3.1 as well update the required plugin Uncode Core and Uncode Visual Composer with the latest version packed with this version, you dont need any license. Thanks for the really fast reply. The thing is – I dont have any of these Plugins in the Uncode -> Install Plugins. Nether can I see an option for “Update Uncode Core”. I have the Version 1.2 of the Theme.

I was looking at your theme and want to buy it but I noticed a few responsive bugs. I was particularly looking at the Creative Agency Demo (http://www.undsgn.com/uncode/homepages/creative-agency/) and when I reduce my browser’s width width to about 580px, many of the page elements disappear.
1. The team member’s except the first one (Bruce Robinson) disappear on mobiles.
2. The circles below the team members – There are three circles but on mobiles you can only see the first one titled “Responsive”.
3. Below the circles are three boxes: “Our Office, Drop A Line, Support” but again on mobiles only the first one is visible instead of stacking down.
All of these objects are supposed to stack down underneath one another to be truly responsive and they should never disappear based on the users screen size. I only checked the Creative Agency layout but I suspect this is a deeper issue that probably affects any/all layout.
Did you already know about this and if so, do you plan on fixing it? I’d like to buy the theme but wouldn’t be able to use it as it is now.

what are you describing are not bugs and I can explain why:
1. All the team members are there on a carousel form, if you swipe you will see them
2/3. The elements are hidden on mobile because by design we have chosen to hide them. With Uncode you can in fact decide if you want to show/hide a row/column depending of the screen resolution http://www.undsgn.com/uncode/documentation/column-settings/#2835/6
Otherwise normally they do stack down as they should as you can see for the other elements.

Yes you can set the header height every size you need both from Theme Options (global), both for singular page (Page Options); so you can have a given smaller size for other pages and bigger on the homepage, for example the same we have in the documentation site based on Uncode (http://www.undsgn.com/uncode/documentation/).
3. As Envato license you can install a theme only in a single domain, if you need to build different sites you need different licenses.
4. Yes you can build your site on local host and than move it online.

I used this theme and build the site that I want to have (named #1). I updated as you gave the notification on 2016-4-3 (named #2). After updating, I had to built the site (#1) which I already made eventhough I had a child-theme of the site. Today, I just get an another update notice and I afraid of that I need to built the site once again. Do I got a wrong information for updating or need learn more skill to wordpress. Would give me a tip to solve it that I mentioned ASAP. Thank you your attention.
Unfortunately if you use WP4.5 you need to updated to Uncode 1.3.1, there are some changes in WordPress that require the theme update, moreover there is also an update of Visual Composer for WP4.5 compatibility. Updated a theme is a fact of few seconds (at least 1 minute) and you dont loose any custom works you have done both on contents both on child theme, I hope this make sense.

When you update the theme you dont loose your contents and options that are stored inside your database, you loose your custom works only if you have modified the core files of the theme (this is not a good practise and it’s better to work with a child theme). Hello!
I got a mail today from Envato telling me there is an update for Uncode. Is it a WP 4.5 compatibility fix or what changes were made? There is no mention of it in your Change Log (the last one shown there is the one from 04/03/2016).
BTW, in the Envato Download Center, there seems to be no way of telling the exact version of the theme?
And when I have downloaded the theme file(s), is there a way to tell the version number without installing the theme, i.e. just by looking at a particular file?

I suggest you to configure and use the Envato Toolkit as explained here http://www.undsgn.com/uncode/documentation/theme-update/ in that way you can easily see what version you have and what’s available. Plus the update is a lot smoother.

Seems there is no way of telling a theme’s version number from any single file in the download package.
What exactly does the automatic update mean? Does it mean I am notified automatically when there is an update BUT I have to click on the install button to start the update whenever I think it’s OK to update, or does it mean the update is installed automatically whenever it is published without myself being able to start it (or stop it from starting) myself?
This would not really be my preferred choice, because I personally would like to test a new update at first locally before activating it on my live website.

You can always download the uncode.zip file open it and look the style.css file in the root. Inside there there is the version number.
