Hi, I uploaded the new Theme Updates and Salient Visual Composer and my whole site is messed up now. The static home page wont load along with other pages and I can upload pictures into the page headers.. but nothing is actually visible on my site. www.lifepullups.com Please take a look for yourself. http://www.lifepullups.com/about to see how the header picture does not show up. What do I do? I deactivated all plugins deleted some of them as well. Nothing is working.

Hey – have you followed the update instructions and are using Salient 7.0.8 and Salient VC 4.11.2?
GoDaddy updated to WP 4.5 and they indicated that I needed to update my Salient to the latest 7.0.8, which I did. When I went to activate the Salient Visual Composer 4.11.2 it crashed my website with the following message: Fatal error: Class ‘WPBakeryShortCode_VC_Row’ not found in /home/content/p3pnexwpnas09_data03/40/2475940/html/wp-content/themes/ptpsalient/nectar/nectar-vc-addons/nectar-addons.php on line 431

Hey, just comment, not sure it applies to others but after the upgrade the search icon appeared when it was previously disabled. It also affected several colors and fonts. We comment out the search in the header.php and for some odd reason, everything went back to normal.. Any ideas.
In the Header Navigation – Layout Related, Remove Header search box was still ticked, yet the search was showing… only by modifying the header.php did it disappear.

Just FYI Dev, I’ve updated Salient per the FTP method as well as Visual Composer, disabled all plugins, and I’m still getting calls to init.js?version 7.0.7 which are erroring out.

Hey – i’m seeing your init.js file as being a different, minified version than what’s included by default – if you don’t have any plugins causing this – have you ensured that you did a clean update by deleting the old version of Salient before uploading the new?

I have the theme and visual composer updated as you specified but the visual composer doesn’t work at all.
It doesn’t show any of the components and I can’t add them (even on a new page) and on existing pages there is a large block of random characters where visual composer elements should be. I tried disabling plugins one by one as I know that is generally the first step in troubleshooting a wordpress issue but that didn’t help either.

Hey – yes, but after logging in I was able to create new elements with Salient VC on new and existing pages. Are you still seeing this issue? and have you tried clearing your browser cache? If so please let me know if you’re seeing this occur on all browsers or if it’s just a specific one
Hi. I’ve updated the theme as you’ve requested. Now I’m trying to update Salient Visual Composer. It doesn’t update and I get this:
Installing Plugin: Salient Visual Composer To receive automatic updates license activation is required. Please visit Settings to activate your Visual Composer.
Return to Required Plugins Installer
When I click settings I get a permission issue.
I won’t pay to renew my support, when the issue is fundamentally associated with your obligatory update. I had no problems until today and do not wish to renew support. Please tell me how I can update the visual composer, so I can carry on using the Salient theme as I have been doing for almost a year.

The only version of Salient that is compatible with the latest WP is Salient 7.0.8, and the only version of Salient Visual Composer that is compatible with WP 4.5 is 4.11.2. If you’re using older versions of these and have updated to WP 4.5, your visual composer will not work.
Once you’ve updated Salient, head to the plugins section of your admin panel to update Visual Composer. If you’re having issues after using both the current versions, check for third party plugin issues – WP 4.5 added a new version of jQuery and a lot of plugins broke because of it.

I have loved using Salient for the past 3 years and have stuck with you guys the whole time. However, I will not pay +$40 for support when it is a core theme issue with this new update. I have Wordpress 4.5, Salient 7.0.8 and Salient VC 4.11.2 installed and activated. I know the drill by this point, guys.
What’s strange is the VC panel doesn’t even APPEAR on my pages. It’s not the same issue of everyone’s panel just collapsed with nothing in it – the Salient VC doesn’t even show on my pages despite being updated and installed.
I know you’re busy with everyone’s site breaking on this, but I’d appreciate a response to my emails. If you could just log in a poke around for a second I’m sure you can see what’s wrong because after 3 years of using your theme, I’m stumped and can’t figure it out this time.

the problem with Visual Composer when you update to Wordpress 4.5 because is not compatible with under versions v4.9 VC, you need decrease to version of wordpress 4.4.2, this is a momentary solution
Hey – the current version of Salient includes VC 4.11.2 which is compatible with WP 4.5. Make sure to update your Visual Composer after updating Salient in order to have a working WP 4.5 setup

Hi there. I have a brand new Retina MacBook Pro 15”. My logo doesn’t show up on the laptop, but it does show up on my larger, desktop monitor which is not retina. It’s happening on my site and a site I’m developing for a client.
I’m 90% sure it has to do with how I’m dealing with the retina logo, but I can’t figure out what the issue is. Any thoughts?

PS: The logo isn’t showing up on my phone either. But I think that’s a different issues that I need to trouble shoot on my own before I seek help.

everything is broken. I haven’t been able to use visual composer, i have this theme for a few sites, and all of them are down. i can’t get it to update, it’s telling me it’s all up to date. i really don’t want to have to switch all my sites right now to X Theme, thats a lot of work. all my frames are broke. all my sliders are broke. all my code is now garbage… and it seems you are not replying to everyone else’s comments of problems. ”#1 Theme” title is going away fast.

Where are you trying to update and seeing “all up to date”? Are you downloading the theme from here and not seeing v7.0.8 or are you using the Envato toolkit plugin? If you’re on a previous version you will experience issues as that version is the only version that’s compatible with WordPress 4.5.
