This is, by far, my favorite theme. The only item I’d put on the Wish List is the ability to place html code in the Main Area of the header. We wanted social icons on left, logo in middle, and emai sign-up form on the right. THAT ability would make this a dream-come-true theme.

Actually, you can do that already. Header Ad slot accept any html ot shortcode so you can put your form instead of header ad.

I like this theme, but I have a presale question – I saw that if image caption is set on images it can overlap images would that be possible to change that image captions would have be beneath the image like regular wordpress theme?

When you add a gallery to a post, you need to choose 1 column in gallery settings and it will be displayed as a slider. For 2 and more columns it will be displayed as a grid.

Could you, please, add hooks to your theme? For template parts and CPT in mega menu and modules?
For example, I’m building Recipe child theme based on Herald and planning to add recipe-meta part after post image and before the_content(). It would be very useful to include this part through hook instead of copying template file to the child theme and editing them.
I’ve CPT recipe which uses category taxonomy. It would be great to add it to your post_type query using hook instead of editing the main theme modules.php and mega-menu.php
It will help me and others to avoid a lot of troubles with theme updates.

p.s. regarding notice issue, I will address this to our developers and this minor issue will be fixed soon. I guess you already know, but you can temporarily get rid of notices if you set WP_DEBUG to false in your wp-config.php file.

maybe you can create an example of custom image ratios (150 width/189 height for example)
A friend of mine uses Herald 1.4.1 and he says that changing the ratio does not really work on most layouts. I told him to update the theme and try again.
He also let me have a look at the backend and it is great to set all the ratios in a central place theme options, but would also be nice to overwrite this on some page modules on a per module base.
I am stil not sure if herald is the right theme for me, cause when changed the ratio of the second last modul (don´t remember the name, maybe “J”), I got a dozen error massages above the options.
I will test again after he updated. Generally, herald is a great theme. But all these functions have to work before I buy.

Unfortunately you can’t do this without any additional coding – but I think its pretty easy to do this with child theme. Our awesome support is there to help you out with this.
You have an option to choose which thumbnails you want to be generated. For example if you are not using some layout you can turn off image size and image won’t be generated.
We have styling support for Yoast. You can also add your own custom code if you want via child theme.

Loving the theme! I have two suggestions if possible.
1) Would it be possible to have a “Mobile” ad slot? Meaning it only shows up on devices under a certain px? Not every ad company has responsive coding like Adsense; thus requiring you to enter a separate code for mobile/tablet displays.
2) Showing hits in the WP admin when viewing all posts. I like tracking what’s popular so I know whether or not to produce more or less content.

2. This is rather a back-end functionality which means there is no place in the theme for it. We can create a special plugin for this, or, the best posible solution is just using Google Analitics for tracking your visits.
