If you lately updated core WordPress files to 4.5+, please make sure you are using latest version of our theme 9.1.3 and latest version of VC 4.11.2.1 included within our theme. After this make sure your cache is cleared.

I don’t know if this is isolated to just me, but I did see one other say the same thing: Visual Composer isn’t working after latest updates. I have Wordpress, Ultimate Addons and Visual Composer all updated to the latest versions. If I add a new page, I can see the VC page builder. If I try to edit an existing page, VC only shows partially, but none of the rows (building blocks, etc.) show up.
Tried it in multiple browsers, same thing. I have the exact same setup for another website using the Avada theme, and it works fine. So it would seem that it’s something specific with the Bridge theme. Have you had others with the same issue?

I re-downloaded same plugins files (VC and Ultimate Addons), uninstalled Visual Composer and Ultimate Addons, reinstalled both via FTP, then downloaded and re-installed Bridge theme via FTP, and things look to be working again. Something must have gone wrong with the auto-update of the plugins, or who knows.

This is caused by updating WordPress to 4.5+
Update your theme first to the latest version 9.1.3 please http://bridge.qodeinteractive.com/documentation/2-getting-started/2-3-installing-the-bridge-theme/2-3-4-theme-update/
And then update the Visual Composer plugin to the latest version we included 4.11.2.1 http://bridge.qodeinteractive.com/documentation/2-getting-started/2-4-installing-plugins/2-4-8-updating-plugins/
Clear cache after it, and everything should be fine again.

I want to buy another license of the Bridge theme, but my visual composer is totally broken in my theme and I can no longer design landing pages… Apparently I no longer have support but I don’t want to buy another license if I’m going to have this issue again.? I can’t design web pages anymore…

Bridge 9.1.3 and VC 4.11.2.1 combination is a stable one with WordPress 4.5
Just follow this steps to recover your installation after you updated core WordPress files to 4.5 version:

With that type of menu, widgets are not supported in main menu area. What I could suggest is to try to put language selector in some of Header Top Widget areas.

You could add Portfolio List element on page that is set to be your frontpage. Behavior of this page is same, and elements of portfolio list would be single portfolio items.

It seems your portfolio list shortcode always uses the full image size of the featured image (e.g. 1920×1080), which doesn’t make sense since the actual needed image size to display a grid like here http://strobl-heizungsbau.de/heizung/ is way below that. But there seems to be no way to have it load a different image size in order to reduce loading time, or is there?

Got no notification, so I missed your reply. Uploading smaller images is not the solution, since I need the larger images for display in the portfolio itself. The featured image very often is a big image, but using it for display thumbnails in a grid-based view, the shortcode should use a smaller version of the image and never the full image.

We recommended using smaller size images for featured images only, since those aren’t displayed again in single portfolio page content, but only on portfolio lists.

the setting “image proportions” is exactly what I was asking for and is named/explained misleadingly. E.G. “Landscape” loads the 800×600 image size, why don’t you simply add that info to the selection and nobody has to guess.

I tried to translate all English to Chinese, and upload the /wp-content/themes/bridge/languages/zh_CN.po. However, the dashboard Qode Options was still in English. Any bug with the translation?

it was partly applied, the Qode Carousels was in Chinese, the Qode Options was still in English, However, I’ve already translated all of them into Chinese with the Poeditor. And I’ve not find any settings in wp-config.php, but I’ve change the language setting in dashboard -> options.

Ooops, I’ve finally realized that there’s no translation with the Qode Options and its Settings. Thanks for your great theme. And how could I replace the contact form in the contact page with Contact Form 7?

You can either use some Default/Full Width template, to create your own contact page. Or if you want to use our default Contact Page template, then first disable our form in Qode Options -> Contact page, and then you can go to Pages -> Your contact page, and in content add Contact Form 7 element from Visual Composer, to display the form you’ve previously created.

After it, update VC plugin:
1. Please make sure main theme is activated while performing other steps
2. Go to Plugins page in your WordPress Dashboard, locate Visual Composer in the list, deactivate it and delete it
3. You will see message that required plugin is missing at the top of your WordPress Dashboard
4. Install the plugin and then activate it
and clear browser cache after it.
All should be perfectly fine with new WP then.
