1. Use gallery post format 2. Add inside post with slider shortcode 3. Add inside post with carousel shortcode 4. Use standard wordpress gallery

To be truth, 2 images are not a gallery. Just add them inside post as images. I don’t see any reason to create gallery with two images

Oh. No, dropdown menu doesn’t show these links automatically. It shows Buddypress notifications. But you can add there anything which you want. By default, dropdown has only avatar, name and log out, you can also add profile and submit post links if you choose such pages in theme option – user option. Also, you can add other links in this menu. For this, create new menu in Appearance – Menus and assign it to User Logged In Menu location. All links from this menu will be added to dropdown.
