In your plugins section of the admin panel – however if your godaddy setup automatically updates WordPress you’ll need to also update your Salient and Salient VC as the only version of Salient that is compatible with the latest WP is Salient 7.0.8, and the only version of Salient Visual Composer that is compatible with WP 4.5 is 4.11.2. If you’re using older versions of these and have updated to WP 4.5, your visual composer will not work.
Once you’ve updated Salient, head to the plugins section of your admin panel to update Visual Composer. If you’re having issues after using both the current versions, check for third party plugin issues – WP 4.5 added a new version of jQuery and a lot of plugins broke because of it.

It would be easiest to just use a Nectar Slider since this allows for exactly what you’re looking for and will allow good control over the button styling/size. Using a full width Nectar Slider at the top of your page will result in the same look at the pager header itself and allow allows for the the parallax effect too if desired

Hey, for some reason the webmaster tools must not be loading your stylesheet – the theme itself is indeed mobile friendly http://i.imgur.com/rV1PR09.png have you tried looking into the section in the mobile friendly test for “Does this screenshot look incorrect? Learn how to let Googlebot view the page correctly.”
Yeah, I just saw that and it loads the whole site, and doesn’t change into the mobile version. I wonder why… thanks!

Plugin install failed.

Loving the Box Roll effect. Only issue I have with it is that it gets annoying when scrolling up. Is it possible to have the effect only when scrolling down?

Unfortunately this would require some modding to the javascript file (init.js located in the js folder). The timing for a handful of things would need to be changed
And also if it’s possible to maybe have it as a one-time only effect, like the column animations.
This would also require javascript modding to the same file, the functionality of the effect can’t be altered with css alone – just the style e.g. if you wanted the roll to change perspective or zoom in closer when turning

1. You can indeed add pagination and also infinite scroll loading of new items if you prefer
2. You could have the portfolio in a page template that uses a sidebar if desired as well

Hey, in order to do this with css alone you’d need to turn the parallax effect off for your portfolio header – would you be okay with that?
I’m trying to have my header just a bit larger than my content. Now it is fullscreen.Horizontally and vertically centered.

You need to turn off the parallax effect in order to box off the header to the width of the content area – or are you simply more concerned about the height and vertical alignment? If so, add this into the custom css box in the Salient options panel for the bottom alignment

And as for the page header height – you can set that in the page header metabox with the “Page Header Height” option

Hi! Is there a way I can create a menu only with the bar icon (no words) and a simple dropdown?
I know there’s an automatic option for offcanvas menu (I want the icon like that) but I don’t want the dropdown to cover the screen or slide out, I just want the menu bar icon with a simple dropdown.

Hi, how do I hide the logo completely? I currently don’t have anything displayed when viewing on a desktop but am getting a box when viewing on mobile.

2. The link for the post is generated by a basic WordPress core function which Salient doesn’t modify – have you been able to replicate this on more than one computer? And also have you figured out a way to reproduce the error?

Hi, I noticed mobile problem. I have updated Salient theme. Older pages with columns show properly (all 4 column in vertical). New pages with columns show only first column (out of two). The responsive settings are the same
... it works now. I don’t know if you did something but thank you anyway

Hi ThemeNectar! I really LOVE your theme and have a question before purchasing it.
(1) I see that you have different demos for this theme. Does the Salient theme allow you to mix and match different demo pages? I wanted to be able to use the blog theme layout ( http://themeforest.net/item/salient-responsive-multipurpose-theme/full_screen_preview/4363266) but have the modern creative as my main style for my homepage. I really love the masonry style of the blog creative layout. I wanted to see an example of someone who uses the blog theme but couldn’t find one online.

(3) How is the functionality with email opt-in forms such as LeadPages or Bloom?
(4) I see that lots of your pages with text (like full width blog) are gray…is that editable to turn white?

1.Yes you can indeed mix demo elements form each of the demos to create something new
2. I haven’t personally tested with that plugin but if you run into issues just let me know
3. Salient provides form styling for all inputs so as long as you have a method to place the form, it’ll look like the demos show
4. You can control the overall BG color from the Salient options panel

They’re projects set to “Custom Content Grid Item” the option is available in the project configuration metabox when editing your portfolio items. Once you turn that on, anything you put in the editor will be shown in the grid item block itself

Heyyyy FAV WP Theme Designer Fam! I am updating a client site and it’s a rush (I have latest Salient and WP updated yesterday) but I can’t edit any of the Salient Visual Composer section http://imgur.com/LmDjDex that’s what most look like now and I have no other plugins activated.. anyone else have this issue or know how I can fix asap (I’d use support but need answer as fast as possible)? 7.0.8 is the latest correct and compatible w latest VC etc? Hello, what an amazing theme. I have 2 questions. One, all of my portfolio items are opening in a new tab, and I can’t find where to change a setting to have them open in the same window. Is there a way to have the mobile menu function differently from the desktop menu? Our menu has a bunch of submenus but for our mobile, we’d like for the menu to go straight into the ‘products’ landing page instead of going into each dropdown.
