We’ve been using your theme for a while now and we love it and thanks for featuring us (talkingsoup.com). Also thanks for constantly updating the theme to fix bugs and implement new features. If we could chime in with a few requests for you to consider:
It would be great to have a feature where the post’s description can be seen when a user hovers over one of the grids (for instance in white font when the hover colour is set to black). Currently for all the grids we can only see titles and we need to keep these short otherwise they don’t look good inside the grids.
This leads me to the second point, is there a way to reduce the cover title font size for desktops and tablets as i find these limit us with the length of our titles. On mobiles however these look great.
Another feature that would be great that sites like Medium and other WP themes such as ‘INK’ have done is implement a reading time algorithm. It would be great to have that as an option instead of number of views for example.
Anyway, thanks again for the theme it has been a real pleasure to use!

Thanks for all the suggestions, as you know, I consider all user suggestions and implement as many as I can over time, so I’ll try to implement some of those.
Regarding cover images in grids, you can add this custom css to your theme options > custom code > custom css box:
@media only screen and (min-width: 1200px){
.cb-meta-style-2 .cb-article-meta h2 { letter-spacing: 2px;
font-size: 40px; }
}
And reduce the 40px value. Hope it helps and thanks again!

I tried inputting that code in the custom css box and haven’t noticed a difference (i changed the value to 20px to check). I’m specifically wanting to reduce the size of cover text for those 8 full width grids on my homepage (www.talkingsoup.com) for desktops and ipads / tablets
Actually it does work! But for some reason on tablets the font is still bigger? How would i adjust this just for tablets? Many thanks
Ah that is because that code is to target desktops only, change the 1200px value to 768px to affect tablets and bigger screens.

Hi there, I just browsed 100’s of themes and I keep going back to this one. Beautiful theme, packed with plenty of features.
Pre-Sale questions:
Typography. Once purchased could you help me in setting up different font size for mobile and desktop/tablet? The font size on mobile is to small for me, as far as readability goes.
My Logo. I guess it’s not possible to see a larger logo on mobile, other than in the top menu section? I know on desktop view you have the larger logo (can that be a bit larger too?) in single post view. Mine is 520×255px. I can resize that a bit but not too much. I was thinking on maybe having it centered above or below the title in single post view?

1- There is an option in the theme options to set the font size for mobile/desktop already
2- Actually, you can, there is an option in the theme options to set a logo in the top menu and hide the main logo, but if you want, you can have a logo appear under the top mobile menu, so it will only be restricted by the screen size and appear much bigger than the logo in the top mobile menu.
And you can have any size logo you want. If you enable to center the logo you can have your logo be up to 1200px in width, or you could even set a background image to the header and then upload a logo with transparency to give the impression of a full-screen logo, an example of this can be seen on this site:

I’m not sure if it’s too late to answer this one, but If you import demo content, you will keep your posts, however, if you already have content, I would really recommend just installing 15Zine and setting it up by yourself, it’s really, really easy to do and the documentation teaches you how to do almost everything you see in the demo site. It’s much easier to just set it up how you wish than it is to import demo content and go look for where/what option does what.

I’m afraid I can’t see the preview url without being logged in, but the pros/cons definitely do output, try publishing it and see if that was it. You can then set it back to draft if you need to.

?Hi, I have the “ADVERTISING BLOCK ABOVE POSTS” setting on with ad code, but don’t want to show this when a user is on mobile. I turned off the “SHOW HEADER AREA ON SMALL SCREEN DEVICES” but the ad is still showing. Is there any way to tune this off for mobile and still show the ad on desktop?

Ah that is because the Show Header area is for the header area only, it doesn’t have anything to do with ads outside the header. And the Advertising block above posts is literally that, and there is no way to not make it appear on mobile.

Hi! Love the theme and love what I’ve seen people do with it. But it’s not showing my header, header image, tabs, etc. When I go to the customize page, it says my template suggest a header of 0 pxl–if that helps.

I’m not sure exactly where you’ve gone, but to set up the header you go to Theme Options -> Design, and you will find a header option to set background image/color to it.

I love your fab theme and it’s working perfectly for me! I just wanted to know if it was possible to create an image gallery on the Homepage Builder by using a Plugin to attach a Category to an Image – thereby pulling images (instead of posts) into say Section A – Grid 4 type of display. Thank you!

I did an update through the plugin dashboard in Wordpress to teh 15Zine custom functionality plugin. It said I had v2 and it upgraded to v3. It has now crashed the site with the following error.
Call to undefined function get_plugins() in /home4/syrinx/public_html/lostroad.com/wp-content/themes/15zine/library/admin/extensions/github.php on line 236
I believe it’s incompatible with the latest Jetpack update. When I enable jetpack it crashes with that error.

That error is coming from the Envato theme update plugin that the theme comes with, but that bug was fixed a long time ago by Envato. Are you 100% you have the latest version of the theme installed? And are you using the latest WordPress + all plugins up to date?

Hi, this is a good theme but..
How do I enable ‘unique articles’ on the homepage, so articles will only appear once even if they are posted in multiple categories, the way other themes allow this.

If you are using the default WordPress homepage, and add a grid/slider above content, you can use the offset option for that to happen. If using the homepage builder, you can use the various filters to organize your homepage + the offset again. The theme follows best WordPress practises, so the queries use standard WordPress query parameters.

Hi, yes we tried that but it does not provide true genuine articles as it’s possible that articles appear more than once.

I understand, but it is possible to set it up to not have minimum repeated, however, why do you think you shouldn’t have a handful of repeated articles? All big news sites repeat articles throughout the homepage, as some users will ignore some posts at first but click on it further down. Check theverge.com, and you’ll see posts in the first grid reappear multiple times throughout the homepage.

You currently do not have valid extended support, I would be within my rights (and Envato’s expectations) to decline answering until you extended support, but as you’ve had the theme for quite a while, I answered and tried to help out. So I really don’t agree with you on this being bad customer service.
That aside, I have tried explaining to you the reasoning behind the way my theme works. I am an accomplished developer with years experience, and it is definitely not the case of “we don’t know how to do it”. But the theme never advertised to have such feature, and I am simply not convinced about your suggestion at all to implement it, and after 14,000+ sales of magazine themes here and thousands of tickets/comments, I only remember 1 other user mentioning this, but was satisfied to use the filters to build his/her homepage.
And I’m sure as you can understand, I can only spend my time working on features that will benefit most users of the theme. If you see the changelog, you’ll see huge amounts of new features have been added since v1.0, and 95% of them were user suggestions. And I still have a huge list of other popular requested features I want to add in upcoming updates, so I have to cherry-pick the ones that are realistic and make most sense for all users.

I had a look and it’s because you have added this custom css:
ul {
padding-left: 20px;
}
That is very generic code that will affect any and every UL (unordered lists HTML code), so is definitely the cause of all layout issues you are seeing.

That fixed the issue, however, I’d like bulleted lists to be indented the way they are supposed to be. How can I accomplish that without having to hard code every list?
The lists are indented though, share a url where you have a list that isn’t and I’ll take a look.
basically any page on the site that has a bulleted list.

The licenses of themes is 100% controlled by Envato, and 1x regular license allows you to use the theme on a single domain at any time. To have it running on multiple domains you need to purchase a separate regular licenses. So for example, if you want to run the theme on 5 domains, you need to purchase 5 licenses.

i think this is a must a theme like yours, i’m looking for this type of filter for a long time. it makes great UX to filter what they want to see instead of me filter the posts from the backend. please tell me if there is any way to do it in you theme,
second i think for a magazine theme + review magazine like yours, you must have feature like save post / wishlist type. this is great feature that i saw in other magazine and review themes. people want to save their articles ( especially if its product review) and also it is a great social proof.
this are really a two features that are killer features that really will make you theme a killer magazine/review magazine. and of course those features i really looking for.
hope i will hear great news soon. please update me if there is any plan to add something like this features.

Regarding the category filter, do you mean literally on category/tag pages? I am thinking of adding a new dropdown type option inside category pages that allows users to change the order of the posts, i.e. latest/oldest/best review scores/etc
And regarding the wishlist, I’m not sure that type of functionality really belongs in a theme, because if you ever were to change themes, your visitors would lose anything they’ve saved, and that’d be quite bad in their eyes! Something like that really belongs in an independent plugin, have you tried using any? I remember using a free one years ago for one of my personal projects, and it worked really well – but I no longer use it and can’t remember it’s name unfortunately!

I m testing 15 Zine and since the last update if select Blog Style Infinite Scroll Category Global Color Show grid or slider, Custom Sidebar and so on nothing happen is just impossible to get a sidebar etc…for the categories like the choice is stuck…I v testing all the way and just the modification seems to be stuck on pagination, block style A, show grid and slider on off etc…I v empty the cache delete some plugin but nothing is just stuck…
By the way good job even if i v still the coup de coeur for valenti

And that isn’t working? Did you edit the category and enable the Custom sidebar option? You should then go to Appearance -> Widget and see a new sidebar for that category.
Yess i have done but they stay on off even after save like i say it seems stuck impossible to create a sidebar, a grid or something else so i send a pictures on the tickets forum so is more easy to see what i mean ^^

In the theme options there is an option to not load the header ad on mobile, so this way you can set a logo to the mobile menu instead. But if you want to have a header ad on mobile, you simply leave the option on. And everywhere else, if you have an ad, it will output everywhere (on desktops and mobiles).

Hi, thanks for great template … Although, I have one issue. I have created custom post type called “street-styles” – as you have documented in documentation – very easy, I just went to Appearance>Theme options>custom code and there I’ve writen “street-style” – it works fine, but what doesn’t work is creating custom post type template. I have created in a root folder of the theme a file called archive-street-style.php and I thought that this template would be used for generated posts in “street-styles” – unfortunatelly this is not working and I really don’t know, how to solve it … I am lookign forward for your help, thanks. Is there a way to make screen-width option also a slideshow ? Or how em I able to adjust the height of the slideshow full screen. My goal is to just show the next title of the page (section A) become visible, so visitors know they can scroll to see more.

I’m not sure I follow you 100%, do you mean the screen width featured image? If so, i’m afraid not, however, if you have SliderRevolution plugin installed, can’t you create a slider like that and insert the shortcode into a custom code module?

Sorry for the late reaction. Did not received an email notify. What i tried to say is it will be a cool option, that you can setup the height of the full screen image slider. So that the visitor can see a bit of the content below, so they see that they can scroll.

Sorry MEMT, but I’m not sure I follow, do you want to set a max-height for a specific featured image (parallax) or a homepage slider? If so, that is definitely possible, just need to see the exact element you mean and I can share css

And there should be minimum issues when changing over, you will need to re-create your homepage (but as you already know how it’s done in Valenti, it’ll be very easy for you to do that) and set up the 15Zine theme options, as some options will carry over, but many are 15Zine exclusive, so need to be set – but again shouldn’t take long as you are already familiar with Valenti.
In fact, check a few comments up, AbuzerVL recently did the same and he’s happy, so it sounds like they didn’t have any issues

i tried to install the Superfly menu plugin on your theme, and it should replace the menu, in my case to add a Skewed Panel and its not working, its a theme issue.

Another issue i found it that , the category display is not changing, i want all my categories to be style c and when i change it via the Edit Category page >> Blog Style C ( no sidebar) nothing occur.

I have never used that plugin so I have no idea how it works, but have you asked the plugin author to see if he can set it up for you? It should be easier for him to do than me, as he understands it more. And if you see any theme errors, share them here.
Regarding the category, are you saying that if you go to Posts -> Category, and then edit a category and set it to blog style C, it isn’t applying? Have you tried refreshing cache just in case your site isn’t showing you the latest version? And what theme version are you running?

No problemo! And yeah, I recommend asking the plugin author for help setting it up first, and I’m sure he’ll be able to figure out the cause of the issue, and if it’s something in the theme, I can take a look.

Ok great now its working. thank you. love all you work, so clean and amazing. im using both 15zine and let’s review plugin. so happy with it.
one last little thing to ask. i notice that via let’s review plugin i usually dont use pro’s and cons’ and it seems that the score is alone in the row, and via desktop it look not good, in your review system via the 15zine theme the score box is in the side of the title. so it look great, is there any way that i can use the lets review plugin but i want to score box in the side of the title ? like in the regular review system hope you understand what i asked. thank you
