i am referring to an option on the sign in for an eCommerce shop that i am building for my client. they want the user to be able to stay signed in if they leave the site and then come back they will stay signed in and what is in their basket will remain.is this default?

Hmm, this isn’t something that Avada would be adjusting, that is purely WooCommerce functionality. I believe WooCommerce does retain the cart contents for a period of time after the visitor leaves the site. If the same user returns to the site within that time period, the items will still be sitting in the cart.
There are also several third party plugins that you can use to have more control over the cart contents for visitors who leave, such as:

Hi,
Thanks for the theme … I am having a small issue with the WP Layer Slider – for some reason it keeps giving me an error message just above the footer saying:
“LayerSlider encountered a problem while it tried to show your slider. Please make sure that you’ve used the right shortcode or method to insert the slider, and check if the corresponding slider exists and it wasn’t deleted previously.”
However, the slider shows up fine on the home page with no issues. After searching online, I found a ticket saying i need to install demo sliders manually. I tried doing that and I still get the message!
How do I get rid of it?

Is there a way to have a google map with custom Map Pins for a few locations?

Yes, our Google maps shortcode comes with an option to assign a custom icon for each location on the map. You can see all of the available options for our Google maps shortcode here:

Hello, How do I add “Load more button” on recent posts?

Recent posts shortcode does not support any type of pagination, if you want your posts with pagination i will suggest using the Blog Shortcode instead.

If I were to upload a demo template from within theme options, create pages & custom page templates, would everything get overwritten when I switch to a different demo template? I know most settings will be lost but if I at least the custom page templates I created are carried over, then I wouldn’t lose very much work. Let me know – thanks! -CT

The pages and post you create will not be lost, however your theme options and other styling as well as as widgets and menus will be merged with the other demo you install. It is not recommended to import a demo on an already built site.

Avada 3.9.4 and above requires at least WordPress 4.5. I would recommend keeping both WordPress and Avada as up to date as possible to avoid any security issues that have since been patched.

This looks like it might be caused by your permalinks. I would recommend going to the Settings -> Permalinks page of your admin panel, selecting ‘Post Name’ and clicking the save button. If ‘Post Name’ is already selected, please go ahead and click the ‘Save’ Button anyway.

The premium sliders are bundled free with our theme and you will be getting the updated version when we update it on our end, this will be done in our next version release 5.0.
However if you want to update it otherwise you can certainly buy a stand alone license for yourself and then update the plugin, it will also make you eligible for their premium support and add ons.

This rule generally applies to plugins that haven’t been updated for several months or more. We include the latest version with each update, which occurs every few months or so. If there is a vulnerability with any of the third party plugins that we include, we will release an emergency update/patch with the updated plugin files.
We are looking into other ways of providing updates for these plugins, but we are bound by certain licensing rules which can make it a bit difficult to do this any other way.

Is there a way to turn off the icon and colored image that appears overtop of the featured image when looking at a grid of blog post excerpts?

If you check on the “Keep me signed in” option at the very first login of WP admin you should always be able to see your account drop down, are you not seeing that on your my account drop down ?

Hi- Your theme is my favorite by far, but I am having an issue. I have spent an hour going through your support forums but need a quick answer please. I have turned on the automatic heading resizing for mobile under the responsive tab. I have played with many different settings to get it to work, but it doesn’t. I want my H3 headings to resize on a mobile because they show up way too big (same size as on my desktop). But for the life of me I can not get them to automatically shrink. Please let me know what I am doing wrong.

We are glad to hear that you like our product and we are continuously working to make it better. Coming towards your issue please make sure that you are not setting an inline style (Font size) for your heading because in that case the responsive settings will be overridden.

Thanks for the quick response! I have only used the drop down (paragraph, Heading 1, Heading 2, Heading 3, etc…) and selected “Heading 3.” I went into the content block and changed it to “text” to double check how it coded it and it does not have and inline style for font size.
I set Responsive Typography Sensitivity to 2.0 and have played around with the Site Content Responsive Breakpoint, but the H3 font stays the same size. :-/
Any suggestion before I have to go through the ticket process???

Hmm, the responsive text settings should be applying to those headings. There are two things I would recommend:
1. After adjusting the ‘Responsive Typography Sensitivity’ option, please have a play around with the ‘Minimum Font Size Factor’. This may be stopping your text from responding below a certain level.
2. Try inserting a title using the ‘Title’ shortcode, rather than inserting it via the text editor.
If this doesn’t result in responsive titles, something else must be interfering and we will need you to submit a ticket so that we can take a closer look at this for you.

Any idea as to why a basic font (looks like Times New Roman) loads on the website before the Google font (ubuntu in this case) loads?
So once the page has loaded, the menu’s and text all eventually turn into Ubuntu.

No, the forum I noticed you have (bbPress) but I was thinking more like BuddyPress? Users have their own Profiles can send Private Messages to each other?
Im very curious if my VPS which has 2.25 GB would be enough for this Theme and Plugins to run fast on? The rest of my server specs should be just find but some WP Themes are bloated as well as plugins that make servers eat up a bunch of RAM. I know your theme says it’s optimized for performance but I really need a fast loading WP Theme so I really need to know how much RAM it needs to run as fast as possible but on a budget. Thanks

Most Avada customer’s are using shared hosting, which come with fairly tight limits. I don’t think you would have any issues on a VPS with 2.25GB of RAM. In terms of speed, you would be better off using the server you have and investing in a CDN and a good caching solution.
In terms of features, Avada itself doesn’t include the forum/messaging features but we are compatible with both plugins that you mentioned, bbPress and BuddyPress. Between the two of these, you should be able to achieve all the functionality for that type of website.

The font size of side navigation template is controlled by the font size of body, there is no separate option for that. However if you want a custom solution a CSS code can definitely be used for it.

Is it possible to use the Shopify Buy Button (https://www.shopify.co.uk/buy-button) within this theme, in order to sell products, instead of using WooCommerce?

We have never personally tried both of these plugins, however on the product page for shopify it says its compatible with WordPress tho i will suggest getting in contact with the shopify developer about this for more info if they support premium WordPress themes?
However both your booking requirements and an e-shop can be certainly fulfilled using WooCommerce and its extensions.
