External site can’t be opened in popup, for this you need to do customization of coupon function. In any case I don’t recommend to do this, because this is not correct and strange. External site is opening in another window, so, you don’t need to show it inside popup

How hard it is to do that customization? the external website is just a coupon platform created for me which have creation and validation options that I don’t believe it can be achieved on wordpress. And to it flow easy to my customers would be nice if those coupon could be opened on a lightbox (fancybox).

The best way for this – is using API (do you have any API which on your platform which can be used on another sites?). If you have any API we can use it and grab only coupon data from your site.

If you will use just iframe – I think this is not good idea, because your site has own structure and code and I don’t see that it will look good in popup. Of course we can try but currently I can’t tell you exactly

Theme has ajax search and you can set search only products. You can do this in theme option – header option – search option.

Please, show me examples, because I totally can’t understand what you want to do.

is what I wish the results from search to be. A list of hotel offers, a list of television offers, a list of retailer offers or a list of brand offers, not links to product pages. Just the coupons collated automatically and as similarly displayed on a results page akin to ‘list off woo products’ from vc module.

Operating similar to how MDTF has a specific search results page, I’d like a specific search displaying only a list of coupons in ‘list of woo products’ format. Not product posts, the actual coupons. There are no product posts (or links to) in ‘list of woo products’ just coupons with external link.

If I’m still not explaining correctly I’ll try again with images and full processes.

Now I understand near 50%, but it’s more better than nothing. My questions still the same:

1. If you don’t want product post and want to have coupons – where do you find them. There are posts, there are products, but what do you mean as coupons? How do you add them?

2. You want to have output design similar as woocommerce list, but this list requires more than 700 px width and can’t be rendered in sidebar with such design

I’m sorry I’m not technical. I did hire someone on the cheap but they knew less than me so got me money back and doing myself.

From looking at the theme’s ability to pull data, results are returned as a product post layout, a list of posts in category archive style and the format as shown in vc list of woo products – amongst other methods. It is the latter vc list of woo products which I refer to as being returned ‘as coupons.’

Because A, the only info returned is the title, image to the left, description, thumbs up and the reveal code and B no internal product links (only external aff links) and not displayed on a product page.

2. Not sidebar, in a search result page / post, like MDTF can be chosen to go to a landing page for results.

Users enter product, brand or retailer text in search box in header of site they click ‘search’ and results are gleamed from woo product data presented in vc list of woo products format on a search landing page with that template just as can be seen within vc list of woo products when entered on a specific page through VC selection

I understand search may need to be worked on. The previous plugin I was using, which is being replaced by yours, did wildcard searches. So could search title and description and return related results but that was its limitation and only one datafeed.

To give an indication of the direction I’m heading. In the end I wish to combine a ‘10% off [sitewide]’ offer at a retailer, have that changed in the backend so it automatically takes into account the retailer’s brands and products.

So one offer has multiple uses and search results. If a retailer sells televisions, search would currently be unable to return a result as ‘10% off sitewide’ (as no keywords) at that retailer. However with future changes, I’m thinking it could change that offer automatically to ‘10% off [televisions] at [retailer]’ and show in a television search. Increasing amount of offers exponentially.

It could probably do it now, if search ability looked up brand and product category columns, just returning ‘10% off sitewide’ with retailer in title’ – as that’s where I have put the retailer field. But wouldn’t change any text as per above.

Additionally. In your new theme that’s on its way. You show product images with a % applied. In the near future, I wish to import affiliate products to provide additional results and visual elements for click. So in that television offer list, a select amount of products from those retailers will show in sidebar next to coupons, with discount on image, changed price reflecting the discount etc. Not many, but enough to decorate and get the click through.

if you want to customize output for returned results in ajax search – this is possible with core customizations. price for this will be $40 or I can point file which you need to change by yourself

2. If you need to combine MDTF output and woocommerce list – this is possible without customization. Create page with woocommerce list (or any other VC module), then, in settings of MDTF widget, set word “self” for output template and link of this page as output link

I don’t mind there still being drop down of related site posts (I’d turn woo products off) but option to view ALL coupons related to BAGS on one results page.

As I see, there are two things in search.

1. Ajax search which shows brands. Rehub also can show brands (or other taxonomy), but not in header search, only in custom search. Like on this page redirect.wpsoul.net and this is no thumbnails in search results. So, it’s possible to do such ajax search as your example only with customizations. If you want to hire us – this will cost $40 for this ajax search

2. When you click on search button, site shows standard seach page. Now I understand that you want to show there woocommerce list. And again, this is possible with file customization. You need to customize search.php file in theme. This customization will cost $20

Returned list needs to be searching all valid columns. The previous plugin I had built (which is being replaced by your theme) I just edited columns searched.

I understand it may return random results but something I will have to deal with for now. Obviously would like it as precise as possible, but something I can possibly upgrade to in the future or figure out that MDTF.

About MDTF – yes, you can use it to create extended search. Theme can connect any of content module (also woocommerce list) to be as output for MDTF. I think, maybe for you it will be better to use MDTF then header search, because it’s more easy to customize such output

Is it possible to replicate post drop down search menu template for coupons with woocouponph.png / wooproductph.png, title, description / excerpt and ‘reveal code’ – does that element work inside ajax? in place of post featured image, title, excerpt and date.

If not reveal, then just one or two coupon results but with links going through to the ‘list off woo’ search results page. And at the bottom of first coupon it states “view more offers and discounts like these” then the list of posts show.
