Hi, We are having issues with a client site http://www.prolinecorp.co.uk
The site was originally built a long time ago, and none of the WP updates had been performed. I recently updated the wordpress and as expected (after reading the support notes) the Visual Composer has become unresponsive. As we could not find the original download, we have re-purchased the theme and we are going to replace the Salient VC files.
I have added the new VC to the FTP as instructed, however it is not appearing ion the list of Salient plugins, and if I place it in the general plug in folder it fails when i attempt to activate it.
Could you take a look at this

Are you using an updated Salient as well? If you’re on a very old version, before VC was separated into a plugin you wouldn’t be able to activate it since there’s already an instance of VC active

hey there. finally getting around to building my site around this awesome theme. a few things… 1. i really need a video gallery (not like the nectar carosel but something like this http://universalpartnership.org/testimonials-2/). is there a built in feature for this? is there a plugin you would recommend?
2. I would like my navigation to be like this: http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-ascend/portfolio/mobile-weather-app/ . I have this demo imported but cant seem to nail the settings to get the nav header to be solid when scrolling. right now it just stays transparent like it is here: http://maria-rusia.com/?page_id=2129

1. Unfortunately I don’t have a plugin to recommend, however if you used a Nectar Slider and placed a video lightbox shortcode in each slide caption box, you’d have a similar result
2. I’m currently seeing your nav appear the same as the demo – have you been able to sort this since posting?

I had to redo some settings while importing the site and some things got lost. redoing so it’s hard to tell if I figured it out at this point. will report back if I havent.
also: all my videos are on youtube. is there a way to negotiate the nectar slider to show YT videos to mimmick a video slider?

Hi Salient Thanks for a Fantastic Theme! Just having trouble with scaling a nectar slider – I’ve set the height to 189 yet the actual content appears to be scaling according to the width of the column is there any way to achieve a simple sized slider here that displays all the image in a box? http://cashelmara.com.au/test-front-page/ (to the left of the Bedroom information)

Have you considered using the basic slider style? That uses actual img elements instead of background images so there’s never any clipping

Thanks for your prompt reply – I’ve tried using the basic slider style and putting in the dimentions required (257×189) however it displays bigger – again according to the width of the box see previous url and I don’t want the nav arrows – it can’t be this hard to do a simple small fade between two images can it?

I’ve tried everything to get the google maps element to work on one of my demo sites but it doesn’t seem to propagate correctly. I’ve double checked my longitude and latitude but it keeps giving me a javascript error.

The issue only applies to new domains where the maps script hasn’t been prior to June 22 of this year. This article explains it: https://www.latecnosfera.com/2016/06/google-maps-api-error-missing-keymap-error-solved.html
If you’re on a current version of Salient you can add the key into the map.js file in the js folder. The line to mod should be near line 589 of the file – $.getScript(‘https://maps.google.com/maps/api/js?sensor=false&callback=mapAPI_Loaded'); will become $.getScript(‘https://maps.google.com/maps/api/js?sensor=false&key=APIKEYHERE&callback=mapAPI_Loaded'); The next update will add an input for users to add the key in the admin panel

Hello. Is it possible to remove the link from a quote in the blog? I dont want it to link anywhere (not even to its own post page) but would rather just have it be static. So viewers see the quote only on the blog page

Thank you very much. However this is a little pointless as the blog after it shows ‘next post’ and then links to the quote post! Is there any way to hide it from the next post feature?
I love quotes in posts, but it does NOT make sense to have an entire dedicated page to a small box with a quote inside, and i really think there should be an option to hide the post page!

Hey, as of now removing it from the next post feature would require custom development – you may be able to find help online from searching excluding quote post format from post navigation. I’ve noted the idea though

There’s a weird issue that has arisen since updating the theme. On one of the portfolio pages, the custom link created for an image (image gallery) isn’t being directed to the specified URL, but rather to the website’s home page. I have tried removing the image and then reselecting it and updating the settings, but that didn’t work. Do you have any idea why the link isn’t working?

If you’re using the portfolio element inside of visual composer, when editing it all of the project styles are available to pick from. If you’re not using the visual composer element and are using the portfolio page template, you can select your project style from the portfolio options tab in the Salient options panel

Thanks for your reply! The H1 css worked a treat. I have tried to remove all the gaps from the raw html but there still seems to be gaps between the rows? The rollover images in the same section are all html, I haven’t used any css. Would it be better to do so?

Hello there, with your carousel im trying to edit it but it seems very limited, i currently have the row as “full width content” but it is only showing 3 x carousel items, how can i increase this based on screen size, the responsive views are fine, but im viewing on a 27 inch monitor and 3 small carousel items looks a bit silly, Also is it possible to have this continuously scrolling instead of sliding in and out, with a pause on mouseover?

The contact menu button is all white see through but for some reason I can’t style it on hover while sticky menu is in place…
If you scroll down a bit and scroll back up a sticky menu will appear…on hover I can’t get it to stay just all white like it is when transparent…the border is still not white….ugh.

Our current website runs Sailent v.3.15. We updated to Wordpress 4.5.3 and the Visual composer has crashed.
I have the product code for the initial purchase but the have lost the account information.
Is there a way we can update our site? Also, If we have to purchase the theme again (which isn’t our best option here) Will we lose the existing look and feel of the site and new pages created?

You’ll need to contact Envato in order to get access to the theme without purchasing it again – Your design should still work the same in the current version. When you do install the current version just remember to install and activate Salient VC now in appearance > install plugins as it’s no longer built in
