When I got started using the theme I was not aware of the existence of child themes, after reading up on them, I figure I should migrate to one. I am however concerned about loosing the following:
A ) Salient theme settings
B ) Website content
C ) Custom CSS modifications to the theme
D ) Plugin data
How can I go about setting up a child theme without loosing this, to be able to later update to the new version of the theme?

Hey,
By activating a child theme itself you won’t lose any of those except for in item C if you modded the theme files directly instead of adding custom css into the custom css box in the Salient options panel

This happened since the most recent update and I haven’t been able to load anything since. I’ve tried turn plugins off and on again to no avail. I dont see it, i am no 7.5.02 and in layout related i see only: Header Layout,Full Width Header, Remove Header search, Disable AJAX from search and Header Secondary Nav. I am with standard header.

I’m having some weird issues with the theme.
So here go my queries: Link for reference: https://www.lomdi.in/collection/tshirts/ 1. I want to change it to 5 columns. 2. The product and its images are not exactly in proportion with everything, like its not even. I want it to be evenly displayed, so that they are arranged in perfect squares. 3. In the product page (https://www.lomdi.in/shop/joker-playing-card-for-iphone-6-iphone-6s/ ), the image on the left is overflowing the height on the right. Can you help me with that as well.

We’ve noticed a minor glitch. It appears on the call to action function, when we have “Cart” and “Checkout” excluded from our “Pages to Exclude the Call to Action Section” it no longer will show on our shop page. Cheers.

How do you make it bigger?
Please note that I am currently can’t post on your support site because allegedly I need to extend my support. According to the terms and conditions (long time ago) when I bought this theme there were no such terms. The support was infinite and unlimited. Envato sent to Salient Theme seller email requesting me to use it as I was using and and he replied YES. I was using it however once I wanted to post a ticket I was not able to do so today. I lodged a ticket to Envato to find the communication between Envato, Salient Theme seller and me where we all three resolved it – agreed that I can actually keep using my support benefit/privilege however due to the small question I hope you can quickly answer here until my account is reinstated back to normal where I can post a ticket again.

Congrats on the new update Question about the scrolling panels.
My client wants a scrolling home page with 5/6 panels. They will have a few other static pages as well. They would like a slide out menu, with links to the sections on their home page as well as links to the static pages.
So my question are:
1. do your scrolling sections have links (ids) ie www.mysite.com/#clients that mean I can link to sections on the home page.
2. If I type in a link or click a link to a home page section, will it load the home page and then scroll down to the linked section?
3. If we add the custom links to the menu, and the use goes to a static page, IE contact, and then from the Menu clicks a link to the 4th section on home page, will it take them to home page and load down to the right section?

– you have the option checked to place your dynamic css in an external file in the Salient options panel. After updating if this option is on you must click save changes again in the options panel to regenerate the stylesheet

No plugin, only salient child them, Salient Visual Composer and contact form… Problem is only on blog post…

something janky is happening on this page http://universalpartnership.org/what/ not sure what’s up with it as things seem to be overlapping and not miving as it should be.
1. also, i wanted to add social media icons for my co workers but the composer only has something for adding my own from the options panel. is there a way to add in code or another way so the format can match?
2. im still fairly confused about the whole portfolio single page thing. i can’t seem to get that to work even after selecting the top for single page navigation. http://universalpartnership.org/orgs/ right now, all the pages have a 404 error message even tho the pages do in fact exist.
3. you had shared that I could create a video slider with nectar with a work around of including “
[nectar_video_lightbox link_style="play_button"]” this is the caption section of the slide page. how/where do I include the youtube link on this?

It looks like you’re footer is getting added into the main content area in the html markup – have you added any custom html in the page? This could’ve occurred with an accidental closed html element
1. The icon shortcode allows for all social icons to be inserted. You can use this in a VC text element by clicking on the nectar shortcode blue button
2. Currently clicking on the next/prev buttons within your projects is not leading me to a 404, have you changed anything?

4. You’ll need to use the basic slider style instead of the Nectar Slider as the Nectar Slider needs the same aspect ratio for all images per instance

In regards to the footer, it wouldn’t be css that’s causing it – it could’ve happened if you pasted content into a text block from somewhere else that had HTML tags in it, or if you were in the classic editor mode and accidentally added some html without knowing it
Does your theme offer an option to make boxed home pages or are all of them full width?
And also, do you have the one classic column portfolio option? (for instance : 1st portfolio item: a picture and a text next to it, and the next portfolio item right under and so on) I’m thinking about buying a theme but I need to know if there is this possibilities thanks!

Hi, I am using the fullscreen rows in the latest version and have put the anchors in the header menu as well as a couple of links to other pages. The anchor links are all highlighted as the active link on this page.
1. Is it possible to get just the current section anchor highlighted? 2. How do I customise the link colours for both light and dark navs?

1. Anchor links can’t get the active class for full page rows as of now, if you need to show the active row name you’ll have to use the tooltips
2. This can be set in your Salient options panel > header navigation > transparency tab

2. Sorry I didn’t explain that very well. Basically I would like the active link to be one colour and the rest to be a different one. At the moment the active link is a solid colour and the rest are slightly faded. For example if the starting text colour is white on the transparent menu I want the white to be a solid white and the active page link purple and if the dark text colour is purple I want the active link black. Does that make sense? Is this just custom CSS?

Hi, I’ve updated to the latest version of your theme and none of my pages will load. Everything in the backend looks fine, when when I try to view anything on the site – pages, posts, portfolio – I just get the little pageloader turning around and around without anything actually loading. I’ve tried switching off animated page transitions in the theme options, and switching from ajax to standard, but this doesn’t have any effect. I downloaded the latest version of the theme yesterday and I’ve tried disabling my plugins to see if that is the problem too. Is this a know issue and, if so, how do I fix it?
